I had the carne asada and it was fine; I really liked the guacamole served alongside, which came in a small bowl with some chopped onions and cilantro. Price was great! Less than $ 9 for this? I will definitely be back, even if not soon due to the distance.

The level of incompetence here is dangerous. Good thing the chicken enchilada looked gross otherwise I might have started eating it and choked on the chicken bones in it. The enchiladas are microwaved and served with no sauce on them. The beans were straight from can and rice was mush. The soda was flat. Absolutely disgusting food and service sucked too. Don’t eat here ever

Everything I have ordered from here has been great! Even the chips and salsa. The chicken tacos are my favorite. Hopefully it’s a nice sunny and you can eat out side to enjoy the 101 and new harbor.

The 5 stars is for the super burritos, Im a local, and there super burritos are the best in town. I go to other mexican places for different entrees, But they got the super burrito scene hands down.

My friend and I had two of the worst, tasteless tacos ever. The corn tortillas had an «off» odor and the shredded beef filling was flavorless, requiring a good dose of house salsa which was mediocre at best. In the past I’ve had better food there, maybe today was an exception. Don’t think I’ll go there again?

The food is good, coming from a Mexican food snob, from Mexico. I had the pork in chile verde, and the sauce was well balanced with just enough tanginess and heat. The rice and beans were not eaten, I wouldn’t recommend them. Rice is flavorless and very fried, beans didn’t look appealing either(hence snob). The mole was ordered and it was a home style flavor — rich chocolate and chile. It was a bit too thick, and lacked some complexity of flavor– but overall good. If they have empanadas you have to get one they are phenomenal. Dough is perfect texture and filling is apple and not too sweet. They are awesome!

I read some wildly polarized reveiws. It is not the best but it is not terrible either. No it isn’t gourmet, it’s basic, decent food for cheap. The salsa is more of a liquid but tasty. It is not salsa Fresca with the large pieces of chopped vegetables. I had good guacamole, good fried tacos with chicken, beans, rice. She liked her relleno, enchiladas combo. 25 $.

Staff was friendly and nice. The burritos though made fresh while there are lacking. We ordered a carne Asada burrito, it was delicious but it lacked meat it wasn’t very full compared to many taco shops we’ve frequented. The rolled tacos are authentic, but they don’t give you much only three in an order. Our total came to $ 20 for a carne Asada burrito plate and three rolled tacos with a side of rice and beans. A little bit high considering the lack of meat etc…

Awesome. We had been on a road trip from New Mexico and had struck out several times with cruddy and expensive meals. My husband wisely decided to try a local taco bar and this place was a real score. Mamacita was in the kitchen cooking things up fresh. The tacos and burrito we ordered were HUGE and everything was delicious. All for less than $ 20. Muchisimas gracias, Los Compadres! We highly recommend.

Well this wasn’t the best Mexican food I have had but not the worst. I had the Carne asada speciality dish and it was reheated beef, the refried beans were in a warming try, the chips and salsa was extra cost and chips were out of a box and stale. They say that there tortillas were fresh made but I saw them open a package, need I say more?

The food is excellent and the owners are really nice. If you are passing through this town make it a point to stop here and try the: Pineapple empinada Fried tacos The real reason you want to come here is the owners. They are amazingly courteous and have excellent costumer service skills.

Saying that the food was mediocre would be giving this place too much credit. Insanely sugary horchata, stale chips that you had to pay extra for and all four of our main courses were bland as can be. Poor quality ingredients to boot.

Dog friendly tables outside. You can order through side window so you don’t need to leave your dog alone to order. I had the chicken super burrito which was so super that I couldn’t finish it. Hubby had the mole which was delicious. Chicken was on the bone so be aware. The tortillas served with the mole and the tortilla for burrito were freshly hand made. They had just made about a dozen blueberry empanadas — made with fruit, not filling — and were pulling them out of the oven when we arrived. If you see these on the counter, do yourself a favor, buy one. or a dozen. Thank me later. Free refills on sodas if you take it up to the counter.

The food here was pretty good and the staff pretty friendly. The real reason we went here was the outdoor tables so we could enjoy lunch with our dogs. II got the Chicken Mole and it was pretty good(4 out of 5 stars). My wife had a burrito and it was pretty good and huge. One of the other surprises were the freshly made fruit empinadas which were really good. Thay had just been made and smelled great so we couldn’t resist. If we’re in the area I’m sure we’d go back.

Read the reviews and it seemed promising. I walked in, its a lot larger inside than it looks. The smell upon walking in reminded me of hay, not very appetizing. I decided to order anyway. The girl behind the counter was friendly. I noticed the lady fixing things like nachos and melty things used the microwave for doing it… :-/I ordered the super quesadilla with chicken. My order took 20 minutes! People who ordered after me got their orders before me. How long does it take to put together a quesadilla??? As for my food, nothing much to compliment. The chicken was flavorless ans fatty. The cheese… what cheese?! The salsa was bland in flavor with a little heat. Only the fresh hot tortilla was decent. I will go to Taco Bell before coming back here!

My burrito was huge and tasty, but get a home made fruit empanada for dessert– to die for… but you had better get them fast as they get snapped up quickly!

When my family first moved to Crescent City, Los Compadres was in a dinky little building –practically a kiosk. It has since moved to a more spacious location right off the highway where you can dine inside or order at the walk-up window and take a seat at the picnic tables. I was always under the impression that this place was run by a mom and her daughters, but never actually asked. They make their own tortillas and everything I have tried thus far has been soooo good. The first time I braved one of their super burritos(comes with the works instead of just meat or beans) I was shocked! It was the size of a newborn baby and must have had an entire chicken in it! OK, maybe I exaggerate, but not by much. I have never been able to eat large portions, but I ate that whole damn burrito. It has become a thing of legend in my family and they made little cartoons of me eating it to post on my mom’s fridge. I couldn’t stop myself, though. It was so good. Now when I get one I eat a third and save the rest for lunch/dinner the next day.
