Great food and service! I go often. I love this place! Lots of locals go here for lunch. They are quick in getting your food out.

Great homestyle mexican cooking. Jose is obviously proud of his food and cares for his customers. Seems to be a favorite with the locals. Good food/good price!

I used Unilocal to find this place because I don’t know Crescent City and I wanted to have a good lunch. I was hesitant to go in at first but I was greeted with a smile, quick service and delicious food. It’s off the main drag, but well worth it if you want authentic Mexican food.

hubby and i stopped in for lunch after visiting battery point light house for a tour during low tide(awesome!). he had 2 deep fried ground beef tacos. they were the most delicious tacos he ever had. and i had never seen them prepared that way. the beef was delicious. he brought hubby a little bowl of homemade salsa, which was most wonderful! i had the special taco salad with chicken. the chicken was terrific, the guac and salsa and sour cream were wonderful toppings. the gentlemen working the tables, took our order served our drinks and meals and took care of our bill. speedy, courteous, good natured and sweet. highly recommend this restaurant!

Great little mexican place! As others mentioned, it looks a bit sketchy and run-down, but the staff was wonderful and friendly and the food was excellent. We had a wide variety of dishes, and everything was great, especially the tamales and chili rellenos.

Skip this place. Food was bad, poorly seasoned and made nearly everyone sick. I didn’t think it was possible to make bad Chili Verde, but they managed it.

It might be that I’m from southern California, but I wasn’t impressed. I had a pork fajita(not carnitas), and the pork was tough. My partner had steak tacos, and they were pretty good. Both of our meals were on the Specials menu, but we were not given those prices. Overall, we trusted Unilocal and were let down. Also, no margaritas!!! :(

I guess the farther north you go away from Mexico the less the food taste authentic Mexican. Food was ok but not the best tasting Mexican but probably the best option that far north.

La Fiesta was a huge disappointment. The Unilocal reviews make it look like this is some of the best Mexican food on earth, but we found it to be extremely bland. Frankly it reminded me of a cheap microwave meal. If this is what passes for great Mexican food in Crescent City, then I truly feel sorry for people who live here.

We were driving through and ate here based on the Unilocal reviews. We loved the owner! Chatty in a nice, genuine way. The food is solid. Nothing to write home about, but good and affordable. I loved the homemade chips as well.

Even though the place looks small from the outside(it is), and the restaurant is no frills, it more than makes up appearances by having friendly, warm staff and fast service. Not to mention the food was excellent! If you find it, it’s a gem worth keeping!

I would definitely go back if I was in town. Chips, salsa and tortillas were fantastic. The place is worth getting off the main road for. Pro’s: Service was great, and friendly. Food was overall much better than most places I find in little coastal towns. Price and value is great. The chips were really some of the best, and seemed bottomless without asking. Owner was flexible with the food when we came in with a vegan and was happy to customize some tacos just for him. Sopito was excellent, and menu had good variety. Con’s: A tiny bit off the beaten path, so you have to find it. But only a tiny bit. I felt the food was slightly(very slightly) bland for my taste, but nothing a drop of hot sauce doesn’t cure, and I am used to ordering 5 star stuff in most places. If you are in the mood for Mexican, and driving down 101, it is worth a stop.

This is a great restaurant! I personally love the steak soft taco combination plate. The complimentary chips and salsa are the best!

This place was really well rated on Unilocal so we tried it. Looked like a dump on the outside and not much better on the inside. Then the owner walks out and the genuine warmth in his eyes and his conversation was so palpable I didn’t even care if the food was that good(but it was DELICIOUS!) Married for 40 years, his wife does the cooking and he does the serving. Sweetest guy ever and we left with huge smiles. I LOVE discoveries like this! Don’t miss an opportunity to enjoy true customer service and wonderful food.

It may not look the best from the outside but once you sit down they are quick and friendly. They have some of the best homemade tortilla chips and salsa while you wait for your food. It wasn’t the best Mexican food I have had but then again I wasn’t expecting that. What surprised me was that they were quick and very friendly. I would have to say that if you are stopping in crescent city for any reason you should come here for some good Mexican food

It’s a little off the beaten path, but so very worth it! Delicious food and great character. Our server was also the owner and he was hilarious and very friendly. I had the soft taco and a beef enchilada, freakin delicious.

I get grossed out just thinking about this place. Weird chips, bland salsa that tastes like marinara sauce, nachos that look like something I microwaved at 3am while I was drunk, bizarre oversized«tacos» with bland sauce. An eerie, quiet atmosphere and a server who seemed extremely depressed. After leaving, we joked around if we should force ourselves to vomit or not. I feel bad ragging on a small business like this, but this is not Mexican food. It reminded me of something you’d get in a retirement home or school lunch line. Lafiesta is Spanish for«vomit spraying out of your mouth»

Food is excellent! I had an enchilada and my mother had a chile relleno. My daughter ate our rice and beans. We were all very satisfied with the food and service. My only regret is that I was too full to find out what the cheesecake chimichanga was from their specials board. This is a small restaurant, so no large groups. The décor is a bit rundown, but no one will mind once they have a taste of the food and service.

A gem! In business for 20 years, same location a few blocks off of hwy 101. Thank you Unilocal for bringing us here! Home made, delicious corn tortillas! So very tender. My chile relleno(my favorite Mexican dish) was perfect! It’s off the beaten path, go find it!!! Food and friendly service are the focus! No fooling around! Décor is Mexican«camp», pretty funky, but I didn’t come for the décor! Perfect!
