Corvallis is crying out for an authentic deli. This isn’t it. Baguettes may be fresh at some point, but they weren’t for me at lunchtime. The place is a bit run down and not particularly clean. It had been some years since my last visit and the deterioration was evident; so I’d suggest a little renovation and attention to detail/cleanliness would go a long way.

My husband and I enjoyed lunch here last weekend. What a find! Excellent sandwiches, and the gentleman working behind the counter was sooooo nice! We will definitely be back!

Outstanding sandwiches made to order with funny and friendly service. Muffulettas and hoagies were both delicious, and quite big too.

I don’t get why everyone loves this place? Maybe if you eat meat the sams might be good, but we don’t, and what we got was barely any veggies on a huge stale wad of bread. I was sooo looking forward to one of the best sams of my life here based on reviews but it was seriously awful. I will give the guy credit for washing his hands before making our food; I really love that and appreciate it a lot. But his place is so fing filthy we almost left and now I wish we would have. I have worked in tons of greasy restaurants and it’s called WIPINGDOWNTHENAPKINDISPENSERS! WTF is hard about that? The deli area and floor were so fing gross I feel I need to be honest here. Then when we are just started to enjoy our stale ass sams he comes out with a huge weird tool and says, «question of the day, what is this and what is it used for?» we just sort of look at each other and he continues to say it’s a huge needle used to sew together 2 whole lambs or some shit and he says it like a fucking creepy psycho. I wish I was kidding. The place is so gross and the owner is beyond rude and maybe insane, I don’t know. I could see college kids coming here and if the bread was fresh it might be tasty… but to us it was totally unacceptable.

It’s alright. The owner seems to be a nice guy, and this is a cute little place; however, with all the great reviews I honestly expected to be more impressed with the sandwiches. The bread was quite dense and out of proportion with the fillings, particularly the meat which was rather spartan.

Phenomenal! Service, food, fresh, quality, taste, you name it. The only knock one might have is the portion size, but look at the price, ridiculously cheap. I travel the world and deli sandwiches are a staple. This place is a real find.

Probably the best deli in Corvallis hands down. All of the ingredients are fresh and the selection of meats are incredible! The owner is very personable and is quite generous with the portions. The hoagies are smaller, but pack a lot of flavor. If you want a truly massive sandwich, go for the muffulettas. The menu also offers vegetarian choices and kids meals as well as paninis. Make sure to check out the daily specials, especially Thursdays where you can buy one and get one at half price. Personally, I’ve tried all of the hoagies, paninis, and muffulettas and I prefer the hoagies with the Cristoforo, Ronaldo, and Capicolla & Salami hoagies, as well as the Pastrami on rye as being some of my most favorites.

Everything is so fresh and delicious! The owner is really nice and personable which is great :-) My favorite sandwich so far was the Bobar! It was huge and tasted sooo good!

We are visiting from out of state and went in for sandwiches after reading the great reviews. We each had the Aviator, one on a baguette and one on a hoagie roll. They were delicious! I love all of the choices of veggies and Greg will customize your sandwich so you have it just the way you want! The atmosphere was casual and you could tell nearly everyone who came In was a regular customer.

Great sandwiches! Best in the area. Lots of cheese, meat, and topping selections. I work downtown Corvallis and it’s the perfect place to pick up lunch. There is also seating inside so you have the option to eat there if your not on the go. The owner is very friendly and even when it gets busy, it’s still worth the wait. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

As a deli, there is none better in Corvallis. The owner is obviously very knowledgeable about the cheeses and meats he provides. So much so that when I went there for the first time I bought a half pound of expensive cheese, a whole pound of exquisite meat and the rest of his pancetta. The sandwiches are awesome too but let’s just say I don’t come here for them!

One of the first joints I tried after moving to Corvllis… like a deli in a den… lil chachki’s everywhere, stuff to read, imported Italian items… Two coolers for the meats and the cheeses, real simple, a sandwich factory. I must admit, I haven’t strayed far from«The Gregorio,» named after the owner and oft«employee of the month.» It’s a mufaletta sammy with Capacola etc. on «mufaletta» bread. I like it toasted(panini’d). Man oh man… reminds me of San Francisco.

Awesome sandwich. Friendly artisan at the counter. Don’t miss it. Be smart and just leave it up to him to make you whatever he wants!

Pretty damn tasty for a sammy spot in this tiny town. Plus, the owner is AWESOME. We walked in and the place was empty. He was sitting in a giant office chair reading a Stephen King book. When he greeted us, I could I only think about how he TOTALLY looked and talked like THEDUDE. He runs the show here. We perused the menu and split a sandwich per his recommendation. It was HUGE. Like, maybe three people could have shared it. And it was good. He definitely takes his time while making the sandwiches… we totally lucked out with our timing. Just as we sat down to eat about 7 people walked in… and they had a little wait ahead of them. He carefully takes out the filling of the bread to make room for all the meat and cheese that’s piled into each sandwich. You can definitely get a solid grinder here– and unique experience with the owner.

SOFREAKINGDELICIOUS. These are the sandwiches of my dreams! The sandwiches I always want! The sandwiches that I would go bankrupt for! Desolate, on the street, turning tricks for these sandwiches. Oh yeah his shop is super charming too. :D I just wish the hours were reliable.

Definitely authentic Italian. The half size sandwich is huge. The paninis are A+. Some ingredients he uses are pickled and super good. Great place to go for cheese, meat and wine. The owner was very friendly and engaging. We will definitely be back!

I’m no MapQuest, but me thinks Italy is about 8 billion miles from Corvallis, Oregon… but that doesn’t mean you can’t get something that slightly resembles the real thing in the Pacific Northwest. Corvallis gets an asterisk. It’s not the best Italian sandwich joint I’ve been to… but there’s a chance it’s the best in Corvallis. Likewise, the«best» banh mi is nowhere near the best in the city… but it’s a rare bird in this area of the country. Just a city slicker in town for the holidays — so what do I know? The proprietor of the shop is 100% Jeff Bridges on the DL. If you walk in and tell me he’s not The Dude, I’ll buy you 10 pounds of prosciutto.

I’m not very familiar with Corvallis, but I was very pleased to find this place on my short trip there today. I was waiting for my fur-babies to be done with their participation in a study at OSU’s Veterinary Clinic — they like to volunteer for the cause of science — and I needed something satisfying. The unfair part on my side is that I arrived before 11 a.m. and he was not quite open, although I saw Greg putting out his sign as I was looking for a parking spot. A few minutes later, he returned with a bag of flour in hand and caught me just before I was about to leave and look for someplace else. Perfect timing. Upon entering, I was most impressed by the delicious array of cheeses in the case. If I’d been going right home, I’d have picked up something European to take home, but instead I just chose a Ronaldo sandwich ½ on regular hoagie bread. Mascarpone cheese is a nice touch with the spicy soppressata, genoa salame and pastrami, and Greg was attentive and patient with asking which veggies I wanted one at a time. I deducted one star just because the set-up is a bit awkward with me being the only one there. I felt a little bit like I was bothering him and I couldn’t see the selection of meats that could be bought to take home. Maybe a list of dry salamis would be a great suggestion for someone like me who is driving back to Eugene who didn’t remember to bring a cooler? At any rate, if I lived in the area, I’d be by frequently to check out the wines and groceries while enjoying a sandwich.

Their imported meats and cheeses are high quality, sandwich bread is fresh baked, and the muffaletta is THEBOMB! Add that olive tampenade to any of their sandwiches and you’ll seriously have a mouth-gasm of epic proportions. Oh yeah, and their whole sandwich is HUGE! You can eat a whole one if you’re big and crazy hungry, but it’s best to share with a friend for lunch or dinner. Finally, the setting is so cute! Imported Italian foods up top(pastas, oils, spices, etc), a quaint dining area down in the basement, or eat outside on a beautiful summer’s day! It’s soooo good!!! Along with Local Boyz and Nearly Normals, it’s the only food I really miss from my Beaver days in cowtown!
