We had lunch at this location last week and it was great! I got the French dip and it was pretty good– probably about a 3 star. Afterwards my husband and I splurged and got the chocolate thunder to share and wow– that thing never disappoints. Great meal and very attentive staff

50⁄50. 2 of our meals were good, 2 bad. My $ 26 ribeye had gristle in every bite until I finally gave up. My son’s baby back ri s he couldn’t eat. My daughter had the Victoria filet which was very good and her friend had the flatiron steak which was also good. They comped us on the ribs. If I didn’t have a gift card I would be more upset but at least most of the meal was paid for with that. It’s been years since ice been to Outback– may be a few more before I come back again.

I’m a huge fan of Outback Steakhouse. I ate at my first Outback in 1993, and it’s been a regular favorite ever since. At times, I’ve ate at Outback as much as 5 times a week, and regularly eat there about 100 times a year. I travel extensively, and have probably ate in 50 or more different Outbacks. My usual meal is a 6 ounce Outback Sirloin, medium rare with extra seasoning, salad with ranch, and broccoli. Once in a while, I’ll splurge with a bone in ribeye, cheese fries(only about $ 1 extra as a side!), or a dessert(Salted Caramel Skillet Cookie is my new favorite). The food is great, the value is good, the service is normally great, and everything is usually very consistent. That said, sometimes things aren’t so consistent, and my latest dining experience at the Corpus Christi location was one of those times. I ordered my usual, and pretty much every aspect of the meal was messed up in one way or another. Nothing was«bad», and any one of these inconsistencies probably would have been ignored. Even ALL of them together probably would have been ignored, except for what happened at the end. When my salad came out, a large portion of the lettuce was bitter, white/yellow pieces. Of all my times eating at Outbacks, I had never had this happen. Normally, it’s an incredible salad with no bitter or waxy pieces of lettuce. I went ahead and ate it without saying anything. It wasn’t that bad. When my steak and broccoli came out, the first thing I noticed was that I could see NO seasoning at all on my steak(much less extra seasoning). Once in a while, you can taste seasoning but just can’t see it, so I went ahead and cut into it and tried a bite. Couldn’t taste any seasoning. Also, the steak was more like medium rather than medium rare. I brought the seasoning and temperature to the attention of the waiter, and he said he could have them add seasoning. I normally wouldn’t complain about medium vs. medium rare, but I knew that it would cook even more if they seared seasoning onto it. I told him I was concerned about it, and he said they could do it without cooking it more. He took the steak and broccoli. He returned with it fairly quickly. He had replaced the broccoli, too, but it was completely dry. None of the seasoned butter on it. I tried one, and sure enough it had no flavor. He said he could bring me some butter(no thanks) or have it redone. He left to replace the broccoli. The steak was wonderfully seasoned, but sure enough, it had cooked to a medium WELL by this point, and it was dry. I tried a bite, and it had lost a lot of its tenderness by being overcooked. I tried another bite from the thickest part, and it wasn’t much better. With three bites gone out of a 6 ounce(if that) steak, there wasn’t much left. I went ahead and ate it. At this point, a manager came over and asked how everything was. I explained the problems I had, and he said he would go check on the broccoli. The broccoli came out shortly after that. Instead of being cooked the seasoned butter, it tasted like it had been dipped in clarified butter. There was none of the delicious garlicky flavor. But butter made it MUCH better than just dry, so I ate it. The manager returned, and offered to buy us a dessert. I asked for the Salted Caramel Skillet Cookie. It came out about 5 minutes later. It wasn’t noticeably warmer than room temperature(the ice cream hadn’t started to melt on it at all), and it tasted okay, but not as spectacular as usual. The waiter brought the ticket by. I saw the survey link and code on the ticket, and thought I should probably fill it out this time, so they can take care of the consistency issues in the kitchen. I gave my credit card and he went to run the card. When he brought it back with the slip to sign, he had REMOVED the receipt with the survey. The manager came by again before the waiter returned, so I told him that the receipt had disappeared and asked if I could get another one. After a long wait, they brought me another receipt with NO survey. I’ve only had one other time when the receipt wasn’t returned(and it was a similar situation, where there were problems). There is NO valid explanation of why a receipt would be removed. This was obviously an attempt to game their survey results. I told the waiter that I wanted the receipt with the survey. He said he probably left it at the register(HUH?) and went to check. The manager came back by. I explained what had happened. He brought me someone else’s receipt and told me I could take their survey. I refused it. I’ve sent a complaint to their corporate offices. And now I’m leaving this review. And the sad thing is, if they hadn’t tried to get out of a potentially bad review, it wouldn’t have been anywhere near as bad. Food was okay(despite being inconsistent) and service was good.

Love Outback steaks. Usually we eat in the bar area… that way you get seated right away. This time we had kids with us so we couldn’t. Have to say the service wasn’t very good. Had to keep asking for things the server seemed distracted… can we please have some silverware, bread, etc… Usually the service is better…

Always a great experience unless you order a steak. Service is usually decent, apps good… salads never a miss but the entrée never completes the experience. Honestly it lessons the experience. Desserts are way over priced.

I am completely disappointed. After finding a bug/critter in my shrimp pasta, I decided that I will no longer step foot in this place. I brought it to the staffs’ attention but nothing was done.

Had the all you can eat shrim with a sirloin. Steak was ok and that’s the first time u can say that. Usually spot in, shrimp was kinda weird. Some was good others were crispy and over cooked. Within the same order.

Sat at the bar on a Thursday night. Fast service and good teamwork between the two bartenders. Ran out of prime rib but told me nearly immediately and my alternate order came out fast. Great food and serious hustle and professionalism by the staff.

It was ok. We were told the wait would be 5 minutes… it was actually 27 minutes. Irritating. My $ 4 watermelon cocktail was good. The coconut shrimp appetizer tasted great but when you’d try to pick one up, the entire shell of breading would fall off, leaving just a tiny naked shrimp in your grasp. The rib eye sandwich was great. Mashed potatoes were fine. Waitress wasn’t too attentive but wasn’t totally horrible either. That’s about it.

Hubby and I decided on Outback this afternoon since we had an $ 8.00 coupon. I’ve a, ways seen Outback as a tad expensive but the food is good. I ordered the smallest prime rib and hubby got the Outback burger. Burger was done perfectly but my prime rib, supposed to be medium, was well done, and dry. Good taste, but over cooked, and ruined it. Wedge salad was great, but when the main dish is overlooked it’s ruined. Nothing worse than overcooked steak. Would only go back with another good coupon. Service was ok, but the poor girl sounded very sick, and had to excuse herself a few times to go cough. Not good in a restaurant environment.

I was really looking forward to dinner tonight, since I hadn’t had their seared Ahi tuna in over a year. Unfortunately, tonight’s meal was a huge disappointment. The Bloomin’ Onion is no longer enjoyable, because the flavor is just so monotonous. My tuna, which is usually amazing, is now only served with 1 of the 2 sauces I usually enjoy, but more importantly the fish itself had a mushy texture, as did the replacement they brought out. I ended up ordering hot wings instead, which seem to have the same breading the onion does. Definitely won’t be having those again. Best part of our meal was my husband’s steak, which we ended up sharing; however, the shrimp that came with it were undercooked, not once, but twice. They had the consistency of almost raw shrimp. Hugely disappointing meal out, & I doubt we’ll be back for a while. Note: While the staff did a wonderful job trying to make things right, & gave us a free dessert for our trouble… the cook’s service just wasn’t up to snuff tonight.

The last time I was here I was super disappointed! But! Today Mother’s Day of all days ! was a different story!!! I had he best server ! The food was amazing! I had the lobster tacos a little salty for me but, overall really good! My daughter had the kids burger pretty nice size for a kids burger and the meat was perfect! Not burnt or under cooked! I really enjoyed her French fries… The complimentary bread was soft and warm! Over all truly happy!

This location in corpus had really good food, but their service was both horrible and slow. I waited 40 minutes for my food, and my server never came back to check on me until the bill. Shauna the manager was great, she was quick to make up for things, and didn’t make excuses. I would come back just to see her, because I know she would take care of me.

Was in town for a business trip and didn’t want to wander too far from my hotel for dinner. Outback, being right down the road, was convenient, if nothing else. We decided to eat in the bar area so as to take advantage of the tv screens. We were greeted promptly and the service was excellent throughout the visit. From the appetizer thru entrees, quality was obvious. My prime rib was crazy good. Awesome seasoning and nearly no waste. I asked for my dessert to go and the waitress bothered to pack the components separately so it wouldn’t get mushy. Is Outback cheap? Nope. Was my meal worth the price? Yup!

This used to be a great restaurant for the price of the steak. But the last meal I had there was inadequate at best and the service was aweful. I ordered Vitoria filet and shrimp scampi. I got my steak with no shrimp. Took our server a while to bring my shrimp and when she did I literally got 6 of the smallest bay shrimp I had ever seen. And now my steak was cold. Not a good experience. Felix would have never let that happen. What a disappointment.

Ordered a take out steak salad and a bowl of potato soup. Everything came out fine. The soup was hot, the steak was in a separate container so it didn’t wilt the salad. They even tossed in bread and butter. The staff was fast and courteous. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I wasn’t provided a spoon, so I had to eat the soup with a fork… The bread came in handy here! Would order take out from them again.
