Our reading group has been going every Monday for a year and a half. We go from about 2:30 to 3:30. Today no server came to see if we wanted something to drink. One of our members went to order some coffee and asked if anyone would come to our table. She was told by the manager that no one would be allowed to serve us at Luby’s. We always leave a $ 5.00 tip. Several of our group of 9 eat an early dinner there. The restaurant is not crowded at that time of day. I am appalled at this treatment.

This place is either great or a waste of time… Today I’ll have to say it was mediocre… And that’s generous! If someone in management reads this you need to pay attention to the food your putting on the line and what it looks like!!! Yesterday you had a whole turkey siting on the line, trying to stay hot I’m sure, but it was COMPLETELY dried out. It looked like it had been there since thanksgiving… No joke. Why in the world would you put out a dried up carcass of a turkey out there and expect anyone to think you care about the food you are serving. Then, to put a little dish next to the pile of bones with meat in it and something like water, and expect us to think it’s fresh… WHY! The lady that serves the roast beef tries so unconvincingly to tell the customers that putting the end piece of dried-out roast beef in the natural gravy brings it back to life… Just STOP serving food that is too Old or past its prime and put something out there that Bob Luby would be proud of!

I will never come to this place again. First off they taste nothing like the food in San Antonio or Desoto Tx. The fish batter is not the same. It’s soggy and gross. They over charged me for food I didn’t even receive. The manager Keith Pullum didn’t even handle the situation right. He just apologized and ask me if I want a dessert in place of returning my money. I told him no and then he says We’ll fix this some how but never returned back to the table to fix the issue. I paid over 20.00 for food I didn’t receive. Plus the food was nasty. If I wanted to spend that much I would have went somewhere better than this where I know the food is good. I just left. I didn’t feel like arguing with these people about the issue. This was my first and last time coming to the Corpus Christi location.

I went here yesterday with my mom and daughter. We needed something quick but didn’t want fast food. I haven’t had a bad experience before but it was definitely an off day. After eating, I placed an order for my husband at the To-Go and ended up waiting a ridiculous 20 minutes for them to get it for me. The staff was moving at a snail’s pace, and after asking if it would be much longer(considering the food was ready and just had to be bagged) the employee gave me the worst attitude. I was not impressed with the service in the least bit.

Today I went to Luby’s in C.C. Tx on Saratoga to pick up carry out. Trust this Luby’s does have its good and bad food days, this was a bad one. I had called in just to see what the special was she said meatloaf, well I don’t eat meatloaf but mine so I passed. She also said seafood gumbo with a salad was also on special. I was tried and nothing else aroused my appetite so I said gumbo and toss salad and praline cake. When I arrived home the Gumbo looked like watery mudd with no seafood or vegetables etc.!! I almost vomit! The so called praline caked tasted like a boxed failed sock-it-to-me cake(cake mix gone bad)!! Really! Can’t fool me on the cakes mixes vs scratch… Salad well no cucumber or purple onions smh! I wish Luby’s was like the old Luby’s on Alameda back in the day best cooks best food great deserts from scratch! Memories.

Been eating at Lubys since late 60’s, but today is the last time. Ordered 2 Luann plates with baked fish(smelled old), 2 side salads, one dessert amd water… Cost $ 28 Not to mention line servers that did not understand English… Sad Luann plates were to be less expensive, for seniors on fixed incomes. Bob Luby would roll in his grave if he saw what has become of his chain… Can’t afford to eat here anymore

I’ve been eating Luby’s since 1992 and it’s been a favorite ever since. This particular location has its ups and downs when it comes to quality, cleanliness, and employee attitudes. I’ve experienced more downs than ups, but I love the food. It’s also very sentimental to me because I enjoyed Luby’s with my grandparents as a kid. I just wish the quality was as superior as it was before all the changes. Remember when the waitress would push the cart around the restaurant with tea, water, and condiments? The good olé days! Anyway, this visit wasn’t too bad. Food was fresh, but whoa, Whoa, WHOA on the salt. FYI… To ensure you get fresh food the best times: 11:45, 4:45, 6:30

I love Luby’s! When we are really hungry or just want a laid back atmosphere we go to Luby’s. The staff is always friendly and the food is great! I have my favorite which is the seafood patty, because it’s loaded with crab meat! The chicken and potatoes, sometimes the steaks are way over salted and that is the only reason I give 4 stars. The restaurant is always clean and they will go out of their way to clean a booth or table if you want it. Everything else is fantastic and I will continue to go over and over!

Super fast to go food. Price a little high for quality of food. A lot of salt used in most fish, potato dishes. Overall, great place to grab dinner, and always very fast.

Breakfast Buffett was a disappointment this morning. Two bowls of muendo and we found plastic wrappers in each bowl.

The bad: the turkey, the stuffing, the yams and the lemon pie. The turkey for thanksgiving was dry, the stuffing was dry and the gravy couldn’t revive it. The yams were from a can. The lemon pie tasted frozen. The good: the carrot salad was moist and flavorful, the hot roll was fresh, the cherry pie tasted homemade and fresh sweet tea. Pretty expensive for the quality. Paying before tasting and sitting stinks. The tip can be added before eating which is awkward.

Eew. Last time I was at a buffet, a girl threw up in the food. I’ve never gone to buffets again. Every time I went there, old people everywhere. Not my scene for another 40 years…

I remember going to Lubys in one of the local malls when I was a child. Associated Lubys with being amongst family… Always a good experience at Lubys. The food is always top notch and tasty. If you are looking for a place to go to that won’t disappoint… you found it.

For a Luby’s, the best I know. Every time I come to CC, this Luby’s is on the schedule. The stall is really nice and friendly. Consistent faces too. The take out area is slow, but it is in all the Luby’s I’ve been to. What I have to rave about is the fried chicken here. I’ve taken guests from other states here and they agree is some of the best they’ve had. The Luby’s in other places don’t have fried chicken as good as this place. If there’s a particular cook who’s doing it so well I hope he/she doesn’t quit any time soon! I gotta have my Saratoga Luby’s fried chicken fix!
