I’m an East Coast girl, but we make an annual pilgrimage to the San Diego area as my fiancé owns a business in Imperial Beach. And it has now become Tradition with a capital T for me to drive down Orange Avenue in Coronado, usually on the second Sunday in April, looking for Orange Blossom’s spring sale. Great deals on high quality stuff. Plus, I love the fleur-de-lys themed décor, the beach-themed décor and the Pomeranian chewing pens on the counter. If I lived closer I would be checking out the place more often, it goes without saying. This trip I got a non-sale dress which was quite reasonable(under $ 100) and different than anything I can find in the suburban NYC area.

Really eclectic blend of clothes(for both adults & young children), jewelry & some décor items… ranging from slightly pricey to completely outrageous.(I remember my Polish niece’s reaction when we brought her in here… she was visibly upset as she realized that one item costs as much as some Polish families make in a month!). I love going in here for a treasure hunt… most of the time, I leave with nothing, but when I do find something, I really love it.

Orange Blossoms presents itself as the main Coronado purveyor of fashion for all ages. Michelle Decourcey and Green Dragon exemplify the variety of styles and customers it attracts. Nonetheless, Blossoms exudes a very girlish vibe, which is materialized through the choices of lacy tops, pastel wall colors, and hand-knitted baby socks and nightcaps. I do commend Peggy, the owner, for succeeding in assembling an eclectic inventory that simultaneously serves mothers, daughters, and granddaughters
