Incredible place tucked away on Orange avenue. If you blink you’ll miss it so go looking for it! They have a cooking class on the last Sunday of the month that we went to and it was just fabulous! Michelle was entertaining and informative and it was truly memorable.

We came here for breakfast on Christmas morning, I’m surprised but thankful they were open. We got there just in time before the brunch rush so finding seating wasn’t difficult, even tho right after getting our food they had a little bit of a crowded line out the door. The food was amazing, don’t forget to try the giant blueberry muffins. Service was great, everyone seemed genuine and sweet. The location is small but decorated so neat. Bakery/kitchen feel too it. I will return!

I experienced this gem of Coronado for the first time today. This was one of our stops on Bite San Diego walking tours and I am really glad it was. The owner, Roberta, gave us a nice presentation of of the oils, their health benifits and uses, then we got to sample them. With over 70 different oils and balsamic vinegars to sample, it was quite a treat. My wife and I walked away with a really nice California Garlic infused olive oil to start. I am sure this will just be the start of a tasty relationship. I also want to add, that Roberta is a very sweet lady and seems genuinely passionate about what she does.

While heading to the beach, my friend and I noticed this small shop on Orange Avenue. To be honest, I think I was more excited to investigate this little gem than to walk along the shore on an unusually cold and windy Southern California day. This tiny shop is overwhelming, but in a good way! There’s a wide variety of unique olive oils, gourmet oils, and vinegars. The best part is that you can try them all. Grab several of the small plastic cups, a few pieces of bread, and start sampling — it’s encouraged! My friend and I probably spent 20 minutes trying oils and vinegars, and contemplating which ones to buy. It was difficult to decide what to purchase because I loved everything I sampled; however, I ended up taking home bottles of the Mushroom & Sage Olive Oil, and the Dark Toasted Sesame Oil. Fortunately, I don’t have to trek down here if I’m down to the last drops of precious oils. The shop’s website sells many of the items found in the physical store. Upon check out, I was given two recipe cards and a stamp card that I can use to earn a free bottle of oil. Coronado Taste of Oils has become one of my favorite spots in the area. I’ll be making a return visit when I’m back in town.

My friend and I took a weekend vacation to San Diego to fish — but unfortunately the weather turned on us and we weren’t able to go on our sea voyage. Fortunately, we took a trip to Coronado and stumbled upon Coronado Taste of Oils! This amazing little shop is located in the downtown area and is tucked in next to a restaurant. It is small, but packed with many infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Little cups and pieces of bread are available to you to try all of them. I had quite a few, but settled on a Garlic infused olive oil and a Vanilla infused balsamic to actually purchase. They also have a card you can get stamped. If you buy so many you will get a free one of their larger bottles. Luckily, my friend and I were told we could also purchase online! If I am ever back in Coronado I will make sure I stop here.

I went in today to buy some gifts for my daughters teachers for the last day of school. Roberta was SO friendly and helpful and wrapped my purchases up beautifully! I’m a repeat customer and absolutely LOVE this shop! I could spend a good portion of my day in there taste testing the different oils! Excellent quality and a good variety of specialty items! Coronado Taste of Oils is fabulous!!!

Such a lovely shop. Came here this past Saturday on a food tour of Coronado. Had the espresso balsamic vinegar over a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it was divine. Ended up purchasing the dark chocolate balsamic vinegar and its fantastic. The gals there are super nice. Such an extensive selection of olive oils and vinegars which they invite you to sample. I really like the lavender and cinnamon pear vinegars. This is great place to pick up a thoughtful hostess gift or a little something for your favorite foodie!

Came here on a food tour last year and have been back a few times to buy more product. Wow– they really have a lot of oils and vinegars in this place! And the best thing is that you can try them all before you decide which ones you want. Deeeeeelicious! My first time here I tried so many vinegars that I wound up with a case of heartburn so bad, it had me thinking that I was gonna burst into flames(not their fault, obviously). The staff are very knowledgable about the products and their uses, and very friendly and helpful. I’ve always stopped by since then whenever I’m in Coronado.

It is so wonderful when you meet people who are really passionate about what they do, and you can really tell this store is a labor of love. We stopped in during the Bite San Diego tour with a really open mind. We tried probably 8 or so different oils and vinegars until we found the two we wanted to take home with us – Mushroom Sage Olive Oil & Raspberry Vinegar. We had a great time tasting and learning about the origins, shelf lives and differences between real oil & vinegar vs. what you buy at the chain grocery stores. We will definitely be long-term customers! Overall, this place is filled with positive energy and great tastes. I wish it was closer to LA, but they do have a website you can order from! :)

I’ve never been to an olive oil/vinegar shop quite like this one. What a variety of natural flavor and infused oils/vinegars they have here. The quality of the oils and the flavors infused in the oils and vinegars is truly unbelievable. I didn’t try a single flavor that I didn’t like. The peach vinegar really blew me away– intensely infused, yet not overwhelming to the senses, this was so delicious and wonderful that I think I’m going to have to make a special trip back to Coronado just for this. The shop is conveniently located on the main drag of shops in the center of town, and everything is so nicely kept– beautiful displays, warm staff, simple and clean design. You are free to try as many oils/vinegars as you please as well, which makes it a lot of fun to browse! What a special culinary find!

I’ll preface by saying I’m not the biggest fan of olive oil or balsamic vinegar, but this was a part of our food tour. It was quite interesting to learn what is best for each as far as length of the vinegar and oil. There was a great combo we were offered with their flavored vinegar over ice cream, it was very good and unexpected.

My son and I moved from Sicily a few weeks ago. We have gone to several producers and speciality shoppes looking for something to fulfil our Olive Oil needs. Sad to say… they have all been horrible! simply horrible! However, It was recommended that I go to «Coronado Taste of Oils» where the proprietor proudly gave me samples of their Sicilian import. I have to say… its very close… and so far above anything else you will find in San Diego that there is truly no need to look elsewhere. A few of notes… 1) We used to go to our local farmer in the Trapani region to buy olive oil directly. He had a small grove of trees and pressed his own fresh olive oil. It was amazing and arguably some of the best Sicilian olive oil you will ever find. So with that, understand that my standards are very high. 2) Nearly all«Italian» olive oil is not produced from Italian olives. You can google this if you want. So just saying«Italian» is rather deceptive. On the flip side, Sicilian olive oil is almost always universally and exclusively made from Sicilian olives(more on next point). 3) The western region of Sicily has some very distinctive and well regarded monocultivar varieties of olives(ex. biancolilla, cerasuola, and nocellara). They are also grown in volcanic soil which helps provides their distinctive properties. 4) Sadly… or not… but true Sicilian olive oil is not a common export.

This is the one spot I would return to Coronado for. Excellent selection of really high quality oils and vinegars. I am stocked up for a long time but wishing i had gotten a few of the other flavors I liked. Good reason to go back again soon :)

Haha, this reallly is a Yogurtland of oils as mentioned in the reviews below. OMG…I’ve never had so much olive oils samplings in my whoe life. I must have drank the equivalant of a water bottle’s worth by the end of it. They have so many different flavors. By the time you try all of them, it does add up to that much, so don’t judge! =P This is a fun place to check out. I bought two bottles and they were wrapped so nicely. They make great exotic gifts.

Yogurtland but with oils. The people there are so friendly and nice. You can try different types of oil before trying which is nice since it is kind of on the pricey side of 18 bucks a bottle. They spend a lot of time wrapping/packaging it and they do gift wrapping for free. Really like 18 year old one and the peach one. They have a lot of good combination and recommendations if you ask them about it. Definitely give this place a try, one of a kind place!
