Bow Ties & Haircuts is the absolute best shop in San Diego. It’s located in Coronado but well worth the drive if you live off the Island. Beth is awesome, Manny is fantastic, but Travis is all of those!!! My husband won’t go anywhere else, and we live in Lakeside. Thanks Travis for always doing a great job!

I’m a big fan of the quality and care these guys take and had been a regular based on this. Although I don’t need the over done smiley and pampered customer service, this place has a raw, take it or leave it attitude. This is usually fine and I’ll put up with extended waits to get my hair cut there.
This afternoon though, I asked for a hair cut and my beard shaved with 20 mins to run until close and I was given a flat-​out no clipper trim only. No apology, the hairdresser had somewhere else to be! I was disappointed because my previous loyalty was not rewarded at all.

Was in on vacation and needed my new beard trimmed. I came here based on the Unilocal reviews and boy was I glad I did. There was no wait (I was the only one there until I was almost done). It has the amazing old school feel of an old barber shop. Manny sat me down for what was a wonderful cut throat /​straight razor shave. Manny is super nice and did an amazing job. Highly recommend Bow Ties & Haircuts.

Was in on vacation and researched a few places and stopped here. It was around 10 am on a Wednesday. The wait was short and the lady that cut my hair did great. Would go back again!

BT is place to get your hair cut if you want it done right and have the time. Travis seems to be there whenever they’re open and is real friendly and efficient. They still do the straight razor shave which is pretty much banned on military bases now. BT has music playing in the background which is nice. They have three chairs but I’ve only seen two barbers in there at once. The waiting room houses about 7 and the wait is usually 20 minutes. It’s not as cheap as the base so if you just want your hair shorter than it was before you walked in and you want to pay your bill with a 10 dollar bill, stay at the base. If you care what you look like, come here.

Always a good haircut! Plus you can never go wrong with a straight razor neck shave after your haircut. They also have a Military discount if you Military.

My barber’s name is Manny, but I have received haircuts from just about everyone in the place & have always had the best experience. I always feel welcome, the cappuccino maker is a nice touch, and the incredible artwork on the wall comes from the talented hand of the owner herself. Have to pick me up some for the living room. This review has been a long time coming. Best barbers in San Diego County, hands down!

I love Bow Ties & Haircuts. Travis is THE MAN! If you need a good haircut he’s the man to see. The service here is great and the workers are friendly. If you’re in the area definitely stop by and check this barber shop out.

The place has been in business probably longer than I have been alive. When I walk in, there’s 3 chairs. We’ve, got a middle age woman, probably 40s with friends helping & cheering her on. Def a new style for the gal and in the end looks as if she was happy!
Middle chair was an old guy, damn near 90 and he was getting a full cut and a shave. By the way he talked to the barber, he must have been going there for 20+ years, he was also lying down, falling asleep with a damn strait razor on his neck so I know he was happy and comfortable.
Next was me, with the Barber Travis. I told the man, I needed to look good for a trip to Vegas. We exchanged a few words, he told me to relax and he would talk care of me! 30 min later, with a long cut, a full shave, &strait razor along the back neck line I finally got to look in the mirror…“oh shit” I said… where have you been my whole life! New Barber to me and the man knew exactly what to do.
Travis is the shit. Make sure to call ahead and ask to see if he is in. The man is classy, funny and knows that he is doing. I really enjoyed my time in the chair with him. Bow ties & Haircuts is the spot to check out. Give the place a shot. As I left, 7 guys, all servicemen walked in, and were gladly happy to take the wait and get a cut.
Also NOTE, if a wait… lots of close places to grab a coffee or a bite to eat if you have some time!
