The staff here is the best. Love that they are open so late. The breakfast bagels are awesome and very well priced.

Great store for those late snacks!
Definitely a recommend for any those who are hungry for them bomb sandwiches.

My brother was buying alcohol and he is 22 years old. The man at the counter inspected his ID and grilled him for not looking like the picture. It was very obviously him. He said that my brothers «neck» didn’t look the same enough. Was mean to us.

Had and eye doctor appointment and it was noon so I went across the street to Avenue Liquor Deli for a quick sandwich. What a mistake! The staff was nice and the store looked clean, but the turkey, bacon, avocado sub was awful. The bread was tough, and I asked for it toasted and it wasn’t. The turkey meat was two very thin slices of the highly processed gelatin type that doesn’t even taste like turkey. A smear of brown avocado, with two tomato slices, and little chunks of roman lettuce. Avoid this place if you are looking for a sandwich. Central and Park Place delis are both much better.

the only liquor store i could find that sells bailey’s caramel flavor. So awesome. I called everywhere In San Diego cuz I wanted to make a buttery nipple and u can’t do that without bailey’s caramel. Nowhere else had it jsut here. I bet they have other hard to find liquors

These guys make slammin’ sandwiches. Forget going to wich wich (which is about 2 mins away). Come here grab a amazing sandwich about twice the size or less the price. Great place and would come here all the time if I live here.

Nice selection of booze and snacks. Pretty good customer service. Great sub sandwiches, on super soft and tasty bread rolls. All around, the prices aren’t too bad really. Especially for Coronado.

I have been here many times for there subs station known as avenue subs. every delicious subs for a good price. My specialty is the Coronado island totally recommend it

Went here today to pick up a couple of sandwiches for lunch. Customer service was excellent and a great deal for the meal deal. The two girls working the sandwich counter were very friendly, especially one of them.

Had the worst experience ever at their deli. We were trying to get a quick lunch, and we ordered a simple salad and a sandwich. It took cooks forever to make it. The girls looked like they had no idea what they were doing. I ended up running late for my appointment.
When we discovered that they also messed up the order (forgot the cheese), I decided that they really deserve a negative Unilocal review.
If you can avoid the place, please do. There are much better places around it.

Meh… Ordered a sandwich, that while huge, was disappointing. The service was friendly, but fairly slow especially considering there were probably 4 people just standing around doing nothing. Seemed a bit overpriced and they don’t tell you about the surcharge for using credit/​debit. With that said, I was also disappointed in the sandwich; they messed up my order, for the sake of time, I told them they didn’t need to re-​toast the bread; fine, but the turkey tasted old, the condiments and rabbit food on the sandwich also old. My friend’s sandwich looked much better than mine, so I might give another try, but overall I was disappointed.

We picked up an order placed online through Grubhub and everything was good. The sandwiches were tasty and huge (my kids could have shared a 6″ instead of a 12″ — next time we’ll order the 6″ + smoothie special for them!) and the customer service was excellent. Everyone in the store was really nice and helpful, which means I’m more likely to go back. It’s a liquor store, so in addition to the sandwich counter they have a full selection of various booze (including some really cool looking jars of «moonshine»), sodas, snacks, etc. It’s a convenient location, in the same block as Vons and Rite Aid, which makes it easy to stop into while running other errands. We will definitely be taking advantage of the ease of ordering, since it’s combined with good sandwiches and friendly service.

Purchased the Super Orange Avenue Italian sandwich. The one on the sign. Looked nothing like the picture… and gave me the runs. Run away!

Was driving down to Coronado Beach and the most delicious looking sandwich sign was posted outside of this liquor store. Immediately I decided that’s what I wanted for my beach day. So this liquor store has its own sub shop, and the menu is very enticing. Cutting right to it, though, I was very disappointed. Maybe the sign looked TOO good? I grabbed a Super Orange Ave Italian Sub. Here are the ingredients:
Hot capicola, smoked peppered turkey, bacon, Genoa salami and provolone. Dressed with fresh provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, pepperoncinis, spices, oil and vinegar, and all dressing.
You’re probably drooling on your Mac right now. However, somehow none of the components burst with the moan-​enducing flavors I know them so individually well for. It was just bland and very, very dry. Is it the quality of the meat and produce? How can you bite into just bacon and salami and not taste a grain of salt? I can’t put my finger on it.
Coronado has a lot of great eateries to choose from. I won’t be coming back to Avenue Subs unfortunately.

Whilst walking around Coronado today we felt quite hungry, I can’t quite understand HOW seeing as I had eaten such a huge meal yesterday but anyway we stumbled across Avenue Subs in the Avenue Liquor store.
The full sub is enough for two and you get a free drink and cookie. It was only 6.99 plus tax. We went for the Orange Avenue sub.
Whilst the food was pretty good it was not amazing, it was not something I would feel the urge to go back for time and time again. Also it took them a very long time to make it and we were the only people in there!
If you are hungry it’s an inexpensive lunch choice.

Came here today for their sub sandwiches, we got some deal promos in the mail so thought we would try them out. This place is awesome!
Their little deli is called Avenue Subs, and their sandwiches are super good and tasty! I was really happy we found a great sandwich spot so close to our house! They have lots of different subs to choose from, and you can get 6 in or 12 in… we got 12’s and they were HUGE!
The bread was perfect, really fresh and they can toast it for you too. I got the Coronado Sub with turkey, avo, and bacon and my husb got the Orange Ave Italian… both were super good! The lady making them was really nice too… and she did an awesome job! Perfect amount of meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo and mustard… so good!
They also have a punch card for frequent buyers… buy 7 get the 8^th FREE! I love these things… oh yah and did I mention they are open until 2 AM? Perfect for late night munching… or you could just call them and have your order delivered… they have delivery too!
This is a cool little store with a great deli and looked like they had a good selection of booze and other liquor store essentials as well. I think we will hit this one up quite often from now on!

Love the new Sub Shop (Avenue Subs). Friendly counter service, enormous subs for $ 6.99 (easily enough to feed two hungry people).
Lunch specials and military discounts, too.
I don’t know why liquor stores seem to have such great food, but hey, I’m not complaining. I buy my liquor from the grocery store and my food from the liquor store… Works for me.

My favorite place when I lived on base — where you can get a bottle of Brass Monkey and tequila inside of a giant working glass globe.
True story, I found a dusty old bottle of vodka from the U.S.S.R. here once.
The guys that run this place are pretty cool too.

What liquor store delivers a 30 pack of Coors Light to a bunch a drunkies at a house party at 1:15am? Avenue Liquor does!!!
