The front room is totally given over to NY State wines, so the smaller back room is a better bet for finding something drinkable. I asked for a nice Rose — it was August — and the man who was helping me said«they call that White Zinfandal now.» I said no, not the same thing, and He said«Well nobody drinkes Rose.» Since it’s right on Main Street, parking can be a pain in the neck on weekends in the summer.

If you’re in Cooperstown and in need of wine and/or spirits, Rudy’s is your spot. Located right on main street, Rudy’s is stocked floor to ceiling with bottles both expensive and cheap. This is a true mom and pop shop. So expect the clerk(likely a proprietor) to always be extra friendly and helpful. And also expect the the store to be a little cramped and dusty — hey, it adds the charm. If you’re going hype-local, they do sell wine from New York vineyards and spirits from nearby Cooperstown Distillery.
