Mazar Market & Grill

Haven’t tried much of anything else, but I keep coming back for their pizzas. The quality is consistently great. It pretty much blows any other popular pizzeria’s stuff out of the water — for half the price and half the wait time.

I had chicken kebobs. The meat was super tender and spiced perfectly. The Sabzi Challow (spinach & rice) was very flavorful.

It doesnt look like much is going on here but I went in tonight and ordered the combination pizza. Wow! Super flavorful and crispy crust. The owner and his wife made it right in front of me. I was there a total of 20 minutes total. Great price and great food. Will most definitely be back for more! Great job Mazar!

Hidden but don’t let it fool ya. This is a gem. Kabobs are super fresh. Pizza is great. Friendly ppl. Nice grocery selection of rare assortments of must haves.

Very very good Afghan food. I have tried almost everything on the menu and it’s all made fresh and very tasty.

My Italian husband is very picky about food. He loves this place. He used to make his own pizza dough for our Friday night pizza dinners. Now he get the dough here. The owners are very nice and even offer him a cup of tea when he shops. They also have Afghan bread, hummus, olives, and Mediterranean spices. The shop is very clean, the owners are very friendly and they have really good food.

Possibly the best Pizza in the bay area. Yes I just said that — really.
They make their dough from scratch, it’s not the crappy thick gooey dough you get at a place like Skippolinis and it’s not a cracker crust like you get some «fancy» places. It is the perfect medium crust and it’s made fresh to order.
Pair that with the fact that this pizza is nearly the same price as Little Caesers and you feel like your stealing. The owners are Afghan and very very friendly and love to try and convince you to try some new foods. I tried some of their traditional bread with Hummus and walked out with 4 «loafs». I tried some of their almond «dessert» and walked out with a tub.
Don’t let the looks deceive you, this place is a gem.

From the outside you could easily walk by this place and assume it’s a Persian market simply selling food and goods. Venture a few steps indoors and you find tables set up ready for customers to sit down and order food. I had no idea it was both a restaurant and a market until I went in to look around the other afternoon.
It was my first time inside so I walked up and down each aisle. (There are only four short aisles so this took about two minutes). I received a few glances from the men working in the back and I let them know I was just browsing. Some snacks, olive leaves, spices, teas, and fresh produce can all be found on those four aisles. I went home with a bag of Persian cucumbers and have enjoyed sharing them with my co-​workers this week.
The man who rang up my purchase recommended I come back for kabobs and other food. The store itself isn’t big and doesn’t have a wide selection of produce (which is mostly what I shop for) but I’ll definitely be back to try the restaurant’s hot food.

I went here looking for halal food and this place is the best if you’re looking for some halal pizza and kabob! They also have fantastic halal meet (beef, lamb, goat, chicken). I will definitely be coming back! Also, if you haven’t already, try the bread. My new favorite place to buy bread is right here.
