Lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Concord – Service

The check engine light came on in my car on Tuesday. I called 3 other Dodge service departments and none of them could take me until Friday of that week. Driving with my check engine light on is concerning, especially with small kids. I called this dealership and they told me they could take me right away and would fit me into their schedule. When I arrived, they looked at my car right away and found that it was a small glitch, my car was fine. They reprogrammed it and I was on my way within 10 minutes. Special shout out to Peter Van Laar who assisted me. That guy is an All Star and deserves a raise! I couldn’t have had a better experience with them and couldn’t be more thankful for helping me out on short notice.

The first strike against me was I have a lifetime oil change which I purchased my brand new Dodge Dakota (love it). from crown Dodge.
Since it is no longer Crown, I was told its just a courtesy now that they change the oil. next breath, it’s only for a year. which is it??? and when asked to clarify with paperwork, service mgr snorted «what, you want me to go get the contract».ummmmm YES.
2^nd time in a row the oil change took almost 2 HOuRS!
Second strike and it’s so true… single female in a male dominated industry. The service mgr was far to aggressive with me. Instead of offering a free wash for waiting 2 hrs. (might have been longer… I told them pull my truck out .I’m a little late for work now…) he told me «these things happen and since i came in as mgr I’ve tripled that and doubled this!!» «its a courtesy and if you don’t like waiting 2 hrs and then go somewhere else»
Since 2005, I have had all my services done here. The 100,000 mile stuff and everything. NOT ANYMORE!
Ever since Lithia rook over, customer service went too.

bought a new fully loaded ram 1500 daytona several years ago from Lithia concord, had more problems with truck than imaginable and for one problem the truck sat at their back fence untouched for over 2 months (waiting for regional mgr) only to be told nothing was wrong with the truck, i finally paid a frame shop to discover the truck had been possible driven off the delivery truck ramps or wrecked prior to purchase (this was a new truck) service was horribly bad at the time and when i took the truck in for one of the lifetime oil changes in which i purchased 7 qts of Royal Purple synthetic oil and placed on the front floorboard and told the service writer to make sure my oil was used, and guess what? when i picked the truck up my oil was gone but they used their brand of non synthetic oil, yes someone helped themselves to $ 75 worth of oil and filter (Royal Purple oil is PURPLE the oil they used was amber so easy to tell they didnt use what i supplied) not a good experience after the purchase, but the salesman Renee was great, it took over a year to get the problems fixed with the truck but ONLY after a new service manager came aboard who went above and beyond to satisfy all the problems, so now i am looking at a new truck and am torn do i go back or not

By far one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a car dealership. We went in there with our 2005 Dodge Durango when it was practically new, we were having some ongoing problems that they were not fixing. We kept bringing it in and they kept not fixing it. Finally they told us that there wasnt much they could do, it was a defect! But what really ticked me off in a big way was the key fob. Our key fob stopped working with very few miles on the car and they wouldnt replace it. They wanted to charge us $ 200. They said «you must have dropped it or something» basically calling us liars. I told my wife, we are never going back there again. And we didnt, we instead started bringing our car to Pittsburg Dodge. Avoid this place if you can.

My most important feedback:
don’t rely on the free shuttle service! It may not be available when you need it. The day we were there, it was being used to bring parts to another dealership and we waited for it for 45 min before we gave up.
less important details of our experience:
We went in to have a recall item dealt with.
5 stars: our 8:30AM appointment started at 8:30
5 stars: dealing with office staff on phone before the appointment to explain our unusual and very old recall issue and having them find the parts and call us back when they sorted it out.
3 stars: other customer service at the dealership.
It is very spotty. When we went to the wrong counter and someone walked us to the correct place is worth 5 stars. When we were told «sit there and someone will come for you» but that never happened: 0 stars. Ugly, freezing cold waiting room: 2 stars. Few employees making eye contact leaving me feel unwelcome and lost in their dealership: 1 star.

Careful on service quotes, charges. I called for a quoteto install a uconnect (handsfree device), part is $ 257, the quote to install from service was $ 400, reason it has a wiring harness. Will go back to Walnut Creek Dodge who estimated $ 110. I understand service is a profit center, with flat rates, but this dealer is not inline or even close with actual cost. True time estimate for installation/​activation is 30 minutes. There was no confusion on request and $ 400 was the quote. Caution to all, this service de[pt seems to charge whatever they can get. Glad I already did my research to know what is expected, but this such a big suprise I needed to comment.

They require an appointment for an oil change. I made the appointment… and had an oil change done on my work car and they did not bother checking the air preasure in the tires or to even add windshield wiper fluid. Maybe they really mean just an oil change? I honestly have to wonder if they even bothered changing the cars oil? For less money you’ll get better, quicker and more complete service at one of the local oil change places or go to Antioch Dodge.
