Service is ok but not great. Food is tasty with plenty of sides. Bul go gi beef is my favorite. Ambiance is average.

Good place and nice atmosphere but nothing WOW about the food. The fish cake, japchae, and seafood pancake included with the side dishes were delicious. Bugolgi was good, normal or average to other places Ive had. Their potstickers tasted like they came from a frozen food bag or something. Also tried the seafood shrimp with veggies which I didn’t care much for either, it was ok. Overall good place to eat and it’s in Park n Shop, great alternative to Seoul Jung if you don’t want to do their AYCE menu.

I decided to come here during my gap hours between classes at CSUEB. It was a really high rated Korean restaurant so I thought, what the heck, why not? I’m always on a hunt for good tofu soup. I was mildly disappointed in choosing this restaurant for lunch. I was the first customer today when they opened at 11 am. I wasn’t seated right away because the employees were talking to each other. I’m not sure if they saw me and didn’t do anything, but they didn’t notice that I was even there for longer than I’m used to, I suppose. Regardless, they all had smiles on their faces. Once I was seated and I looked at the lunch menu, I was kind of disappointed that their tofu soup options weren’t something like, «beef tofu soup» or something, but instead«combination beef/seafood» or «mushroom soup with beef or pork.» I went for the mushroom tofu soup with beef since it’s the closet to a simple tofu soup. When the waitress asked how spicy I wanted it, I said«Spicy» as their options were white, mild, regular, spicy. Apparently«spicy» is extra spicy? So when I said spicy, she said regular and I said no, like spicy… It seemed as though she automatically thought I couldn’t handle the spiciness and that irritates me when people question how much I can handle? Eh, so I just said extra spicy. The waitress was very nice and brought out water and the side dishes. They do give a good amount of side dishes which were very tasty. When my soup was brought out, I was excited because it looked spicy, but when I tasted it, it was barely that spicy. The waitress also proceeded to start to crack my egg in my soup for me, but I don’t like the egg in my tofu soup so it kind of annoyed me that she would just do that for a customer without asking if they wanted it. The soup itself was subpar. The broth was thick, the mushroom too overwhelming. Again, I wish they had a regular beef tofu soup option. The soup wasn’t spicy at all, either. It didn’t taste fresh or that special. The cut of beef they use for this soup is thicker than other soups I’ve had, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. This soup didn’t have a lot of tofu or beef regardless either. I will try other Korean restaurants for my next lunch break. And the waitress didn’t stop by at all after she came by to drop off my food. And when I gave her my card to pay for the meal, a customer stepped in to order something to go, and she took care of him before ringing my card up, so it left me with a little more of a bad taste. I would have appreciated it if she finished my order first instead of stopping to take care of him. I’m sure he would have understood that she was already working on finishing me up before moving onto another customer. Overall, I don’t understand why this place has 4 stars. It’s not that great.

One word… YUM! seafood pancake was ok. I’ve had others that packed more flavor and loaded with more seafood. Kim Chee fried rice… too much Kim Chee. Was more like Kim Chee with rice instead of fried rice. Tofu soup and dol sot bibimbop was good. The best part, all the small plates including a big serving of chap Jae. Staff was friendly and came by to fill water and bring out more of our fave small dishes.

When we think Korean food, AYCE is usually comes in mind. Never tried Korean that was already cooked. This place was definitely good! Service was just ok, the lady that took our order might have misheard what we said but they gladly re-made the correct order. So make sure to ask them to repeat your order. We had the delicious Kal-bi(marinated short ribs), chap chae(clear noodles with beef with veggies), potstickers, mackerel and mushroom tofu soup. They also give you an assortment of side dishes, make sure to try them all! I give everything 4 stars! Place is a tad bit small, not really good for a large group.

After reading my friends review on this place I decided to finally check it out since I was in the area. This place was very busy at 1pm. I decided to take my food to go. I ordered the Kal Bi short ribs lunch special. When I got home I was really surprised at how much food I had! Everything was so amazing. My friend is a foodie like me and she never fails. I ordered it exactly how she suggested and she was right, it was good. The customer was great too. Even tho the place was ver busy, they greeted me with a smile and my food order didn’t take longer than 10 minutes. I will definitely be back!

I’m a super fan of this place. Food: Korea House offers a diverse set of items from bento lunch boxes, bibimbap to stews, etc. My favorite appetizer is the kimchi pancake. Crispy on the exterior, soft and moist on the interior and the taste is completely satisfying. The portion is huge, definitely meant to be shared amongst 2 – 3 people. Most entrees come with complimentary banchan, which can be refilled. The banchan is average and comparable to most Korean restaurants. Nothing bad, but not major that stands out to me. The Dolsot Bibimbap is yummy, I prefer the chicken over any of the other meat choices. Make sure you get it in the hot stone pot for extra flavor and crunchy rice. My boyfriend ordered the dolsot in the bowl and it was definitely not as tasty as the hot stone. I come here mostly for their soft tofu stews, which are hearty, filling, savory and appetizing to say the least. You can add meat to it, other veggies and eggs… they’re very open to you personalizing your stew. Service: I’m pretty sure a requirement for working here is that you have to be motherly and endearing, maybe not, but everyone that works here exemplifies sweetness. Caring and attentive, the older woman reminded us to take home our leftovers… she reminded me a lot of my grandmother. Price: Very affordable lunch and dinner prices. Chances are you’ll be full and still have some leftovers to take with you for another meal. Ambiance: Simple, casual and clean! This place can be a madhouse during dinner, tons of people dining and many waiting to dine, but service is quick and you’ll be in and out in no time. Overall: Fast/friendly service, great pricing and delicious Korean eats!

I think this place has potential but I was expecting their food to be on par to Korea House in Richmond, or like the ones in Oakland Telegraph Ave area. The people here are nice and you do get a big portion but their tofu soup lacks an identity and no real taste. The Kimchee appeared it wasn’t cured enough and their tofu skin was slimy. Their hot pot rice was nice and hot with the burnt rice. Their fried pot stickers was nothing special and could have used a few minutes on a napkin to soak up the oil.

I haven’t been to the Park & Shop area in a long while. I used to be around it a lot a few years ago. So hanging out with a friend today, I felt like today could be a good time to revisit this place where I knew had many restaurant. What I love about Park & Shop is how many different restaurants there are and how different they are from each other. They got two fast food chains to a boba place to a hole in the wall diners. We were feeling for Asian so we decided to stop at the Korea House. From prior experience with other Korean restaurants, we knew they would have bento boxes and/or good lunch specials. Right on the dot. We were in at 11am. Only one guest was there before us. When a waitress saw the two of us, she reconfirmed that we had only two and so she sat us at a table. They gave us our menus and right on top to view first was the lunch special. It’s like they knew! Okay, price ranges from $ 10 – 18 dollars. Of course, they had their own beef spareribs too. I went for that, and my friend went for another item that I can’t quite remember. We didn’t have to ask for any beverages because the served us water. Note: the water wasn’t cold. It was house temperature. Not exactly refreshing. I love restaurants where we don’t have to wait too long. Probably five minutes into our conversation, my friend and I received our food. First game the kimichi, the noodles, the seaweed, the soup too. I next got my bento box filled with bread coated veggies, noodles, a salad, potatoes, sour kraut, and rice. A few moments later we go our main course. My sizzlin’ spare ribs were there! Service: the servers never offered us smiles, never asked how the food tasted, the only time they were noticed and attentive was when they took our order, refilled our water, and took our payment. Food: The rice was just right. It was fluffy but watery. The noodles had a lot of flavor. The sour kraut went away the fastest. Something about it was so good that I had to keep eating. The salad was too sweet. The breaded veggies and potatoes were okay. Now as for the beef, it was a bit chewy. I even counted one piece to take about twenty-ish chews chest to get it small enough. Interior: Bright and spacious. A bunch of tables and seats. A pleasant time here!

The food was just average, but I gave it 4 stars because of its price compared to other Korean places. We got lunch specials, which came with a bento box with some rice, potatoes, japchae, tempura, and salad. I got the dolsot bibm bap, which was pretty okay. There was a good quantity of meat and veggies, but the rice was kind of mushy for my taste. I also tried some japchae, which was pretty good as well. Overall, it’s not the best Korean food or anything but definitely really worth it for the cheap price!

This again is a review long over due, for this gem holds a 5 star rating strong! My man and I love Kal bi short ribs and we have gone to different Korean restaurants all over the place, from LA to the bay. Nothing compares to Korea House! We’ve built a great relationship with the employees and are always greeted with lots of love and smiles! On top of the great customer service their food is amazing! It’s not a place where you cook your own food and people may say that it’s not authentic because of that. I have to disagree with that. This place is very popular and has that hole in the wall type of feel to it. It has beat out some of the top Korean restaurants in SF for me. I always get the Kalbi short ribs extra cooked. The burnt edges makes it extra delicious for me. I crave this place a lot and may be why they know us so dang well! When we bring the kids here they love the extra small dishes that come prior to the meal, especially the sea weed. This place is a must try especially if you have a soft spot for Kalbi short ribs! Best time to go is lunch… Same portion half the price!!! It doesn’t get any better then that.

Not bad! I came with a group and because there isn’t reservations, we took a shot with a group of 12 on a Thursday night and it was open for all of us to sit right in the middle of the restaurant. Banchan(side dishes): these were alright. I liked that they gave seaweed, it was a great touch to my bimbimbap. I got a hot stone bimbimbap but it wasn’t hot enough to get me the crispy rice at the bottom despite leaving it on the whole time. Their house sauce was delicious, though not completely mixed in! I liked it better when I squirted some fresh sauce in an unmixed spoonful of rice and things. My friends didn’t like their tofu stews as much, but I enjoyed my rice bowl! Great service, really quick about getting our orders, filling side dishes, filling water and getting our food out. Actually, they forgot one of my friends’ orders so he was waiting for a while until he got it. They also helped us put a bday cake in the fridge and were very nice about getting us new plates and forks when it was time to eat it.

Absolutely LOVE this place! The food taste amazing, and they provide a variety of small dishes/appetizers which you can always ask for more. The only down side is that it’s a little pricy compared to normal Asian food, but it’s so worth it if you come in for the weekday lunch specials. Order BBQ during lunch, which is a lot cheaper.(It comes in a bento box) Favorites: Lunch — BBQ Pork in Spicy Sauce($ 10.95) Lunch — Korean BBQ Short Eye, ask for spicy($ 10.95) Dinner — Chap Chae, Glass Noodles soup w/Beef($ 10.95) other orders: Dinner — Combination Soft Tofu($ 11.95) — very small portion, tastes ok Dinner — BBQ Pork in Spicy Sauce($ 19.95) — too pricy

I recently came here in a group of 12, and the staff was super welcoming and willing to accommodate our group! We arrived to a fully set up table, with everything ready for us. We were celebrating a birthday as well, and the staff were happy to provide us with a some candles, a knife to cut the cake with, and also the plates for it! I personally ordered the kal bi tang, and I was extremely happy with my decision. The kal bi tang is a sizeable portion, perfect for those with a larger appetite. It is on the pricier side though at about $ 16. I ordered it in spicy, which was honestly very mild. The soup was rather light, substantially lighter than tofu hot pot or kimchi chigae, but still very fragrant. The pieces of kal bi were cooked to be really tender too. I also threw some kimchi into my bowl, which made the flavor stronger for those who like a little more spicyness in their soups. I personally was not as impressed by the remainder of the dishes however. I tried my friends’ soft tofu, which was decent but not particularly impressive. I also tried the kimchi chigae which was a much smaller portion than I expected. While the kal bi tang is offered in a large metal bowl, the kimchi chigae is the same size as their tofu stews. Flavorwise, it was not bad, but probably not enough for people with bigger appetites. The dolsot bibimbap was average as well, not great but not bad. Overall, I enjoyed my dish a lot. I would definitely recommend it! The other dishes were not bad, but not amazing either. The service however was very good, and they refilled our side dishes even without our asking. I will probably be back to order some more kal bi tang!

Just got back from a convention in Vegas. The convention food was awful and I needed something to replace the poor catered Panda Express taste that still lingered on my tongue. A friend told me about Korea House last year and I thought I would check it out for lunch. Food: Order the Bulgogi pork(spicy). While my meat cooked in the kitchen, the staff brought out a boat load of items(pic) which included rice, clear noodles, salad, a few tempura piece(a little cold), and assorted banchan. I love banchan and quickly ate up two of my little dishes. And they are refillable! The spicy pork bulgogi… there was something missing to make it a well rounded dish. The taste was very one-dimensional and perhaps I wanted some other flavors to tantalize my tongue… Ambiance and service: Had a fast food vibe for a sit down restaurant. Definitely catered to a lunch crowd. Overall…not bad for lunch. The value is very good at $ 10.95 for my very large meal. If they offer the bubbling tofu, I’ll try that next time.

Great place for Korean food in Concord! Parking: Stalls located in front of restaurant. Lot can get busy during the day, might have to circle around a few times. Service: Good service. There were 2 waitresses for the whole dining area when we were there. Had to ask for refills for tea, but they gladly brought it Food: I ordered the spicy pork! It came on a hot sizzling platter! Good flavor and not too spicy. Enough food to share with someone or bring home for lunch the next day Ban Chan: This deserves its own section! Their ban chan was very good. Good assortment! Make sure to ask for more of the ones that you like! I especially liked the Chap Chae and the Spicy Anchovies! Must come here when you are craving Korean food!

I came in on a Tuesday during their lunch special, which is until 3pm on weekdays. It was fairly busy. We got the bolgogi, which was $ 10.95. the portions are pretty good, enough for me and my boyfriend to share. The lunch special came with sides, 3 pieces of vegetable tempura, salad, seaweed, and miso soup. We did order an extra bowl of rice though. I came here before and tried the seafood pancake. Although it was a tad bit oily, it was super flavorful and by far the best that I have tried. Like I said, it was pretty busy and after we got our food, the server only came back once to refill our water and I had to approach them for our bill. But I can’t complain, the food is good, portions are big and service is fast.

Great place for some Korean and you can smell the BBQ flavours Korean food lovers would be accustomed to! We came for lunch with two kids, one needing high chair and 5 adults. They were very accommodating and welcoming for our group and we ordered up a good amount of lunch specials. The lunch specials got a bento box style tray with some rice, salad and ban chan. We ordered the marinated beef, marinated beef ribs, spicy marinated pork, seafood tofu soup, chap chae(noodles) and a Dolsop Bap! Everything was well received by our hungry group. Favourites was ribs and the soup! Our group had some locals who hadn’t been before and were keen to come back again soon!

I strayed a little bit and had a nooner with different Korean resturant today. I felt bad about it. I even looked over my shoulder as I checked in on Unilocal.Truth be told, I caved to peer pressure when eating with a friend for lunch. I ordered the stone bowl bibimbop. This is the bowl that they plucked off the surface of the sun and then threw all of your bibimbop items in there to sear and heat. This was good, but there was nothing special about it. As for the banchan, I feel like I get more options when I go other places. I also expect my fish cake to not be in a spicy sauce like they served. I asked for anchovies with the banchan and was told that it would cost an extra $ 1.50 with the lunch menu. However, since I was ordering bibimbop, the dinner price was the same price as the lunch price. I know that I should not call out other places, but I still think that my gold standard for local Korean is Moa. What did I learn today? It was more of the absence of learning. How is it that the wooden bowl rest does not spontaneously combust from the heat of the plasma hot bowl?
