Granite Restaurant & Bar — Concord, NH — 6÷24÷2016 The restaurant, located in the Centennial Hotel, has a rich history that dates back to 1876… It was named to commemorate the country’s first 100 years… One of the first homes for the aged in New Hampshire… It’s current brick structure was rebuilt in 1882 from the original wooden structure… Over the stereo system the sounds of Louie Armstrong could be heard adding to the already magnificent ambiance… If I wasn’t on business I’d probably stay at the hotel… And so it begins… Freshly baked rolls… House Whipped Butter alongside Herbed Cream Cheese… Wonderfully light snd flavorful… the combination of Olive Oil, Butter and Cream Cheese really brings the rolls to life! The Chef sent out a Grilled Asparagus wrapped in Prosciutto… Grilled Cherry Tomatoes… Basil Pesto and Parmesan… The preparation and plating was perfect… Chilled Red Grape Gazpacho… Black Pepper Honey Yogurt… Cool and refreshing… Duck Meatballs… Parsnip and Leek Purée, Local Fiddlehead Yellow Carrot Salad, Pomegranate Gastrique… And for the my main course this evening… The Spiced Breast of Duck… House Cured Duck Confit, Wild Mushroom and Vegetable Fried Red Rice, Gran Marnier Orange Marmalade and Roasted Duck Glacé… My server Bill was amazing and the manager Lisa came over to make sure everything was to my liking. Another great fine dining experience for The Road Warrior…

nice restaurant for the area. staff was very attentive. Nothing wowed us overall, but it was tasty and convenient as we were staying in the hotel. I had the trout.

My wife and I sat at the bar and had a wonderful dinner. The bartender, Robert, was fantastic. Drinks were superb and the food was amazing. Appetizers were a bit weak but we only tried two. What a great atmosphere. We will be back for the seared scallops again and again.

My first experience with this restaurant is that their reservation process does not reflect the excellent service that I would expect. My mother called twice over the last two days and left messages to make a reservation for Easter Buffet. She didn’t hear from anyone. I called today and was told that I would receive a call back definitely within 24 hours. I never write on Unilocal but how do you run a restaurant when you can’t take reservations and service customers when they call?

Good food(we came for a brunch) but the service wasn’t great. The hostess forgot about us and we were waiting for quite a while when our table was ready, the person who seemed to be in charge seemed to be annoyed with all the customers, and our waitress wasn’t helpful, or nice. There was an older man eating by himself joking with her and she flat out ignored him, which was heartbreaking. May try again because the food was good but the service is enough to make me choose somewhere else.

Mike was cooking, and Bill was our amazing server. Bill was really on target with making our evening so wonderful. We are staying in Concord while our new summer home is being built in Meredith. So the choice for my special birthday was the Granite Restaurant & Bar. No birthday stupid song please, which they agreed not to sing. Food was Manhattan style, starting with super great rolls, huge wine list, ending with special dark chocolate cake. Yes with a single blue candle. Thanks bill. Food great Service perfect and sweet bar. Will drop by again soon. Thanks.

Tonight was our first time visiting this restaurant. My boyfriend and I have travelled the world, tried numerous types of cuisine, and have spent numerous years in the culinary industry. From the cocktails to the appetizers, to the entrees, we were BEYONDIMPRESSED! We started with the Blood Orange Martini and the Antioxidant Martini, and we enjoyed the cheese platter as a first appetizer. We then decided to try the tuna tartare, and we both agreed that it was delicious and the portion was perfect for two to share. For our entrees, I ordered the trout. It literally melted in the mouth. We also wanted Beef Wellington, and although it is not on the menu, after a phone call four hours ahead, the chef, Mike agreed to prepare it for us. It was truly the best we have ever had, and a butter knife would have cut through the tender and succulent beef. We chose to enjoy a bottle of wine with our entrees. We were amazed at the extensive wine list that was offered, and we were equally impressed with the amount of both domestic and foreign wines. When in doubt, order a wine from Italy. You cannot go wrong. Crawford is an outstanding bartender who is personable and very experienced. Bill is an attentive and friendly server. Mike is an outstanding sous chef. We have found our new favorite place, and we WILLRETURN; and we will bring friends and family.

We arrived at 9:25, there were 4 tables seated. Three tables were two-tops and one table was an eight-top. Having been here at least 15 times in the last two years, I thought I knew what to expect of the restaurant. It took about 10 minutes to get our coffee and about 15 minutes to order. Not the best start to breakfast, but no big deal. Then came the waiting game. At about 10:10 our food finally came out. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and my girlfriend ordered a frittata. To provide some context, by the time the food came out, there were now a few new tables and a few had left. When the food came out, there were 3 two-tops, a four-top, and the eight-top was still here. The breakfast sandwich did not come out on the brioche it was supposed to come out on. Additionally, it was cold, but the plate was ridiculously hot — it must have sat in the window for a while. The two servers seemed stressed and overwhelmed. Neither seemed like they were on top of their games for a small breakfast crowd. Our server was Brianna — I think she must have been new. While I know that the restaurant doesn’t have bussers on the breakfast shift, the table next to us sat empty for over a half hour and still had not been cleaned off by the time we got our check. When we looked around, we noticed five tables that had not been cleaned, out of the ten in the room — keep in mind that of the tables that had not been cleaned off, all of the others were occupied. Ultimately, for a place that tries to be fancy, but isn’t, it seemed like they were really struggling. Food was slow and cold, service was slow and seemed inexperienced… Never got a coffee refill or a water refill. I’m sure I’ll be back, because the food is normally good and there are only a handful of places to choose from, but I was very disappointed. All in all, the waitress, Brianna, apologized to our table a total of five times. When the check came, it was the first time that it was dropped without the usual«comment card.» I’m not surprised, I would not have given us a change to review her either.

I always recommend The Granite to out of town guests as an example of fine local dinning. Food is creative and changing up with the seasons. And special drinks are just as fun. My new favorite is the blood orange ginger martini. Professional waitstaff brings the whole experience to a classy level.

The state of NH pretty much stinks across the board, cold weather, cold people, and mediocre everything else. Was hoping to at least get a nice meal while visiting Concord on a recent business trip. No luck with Granite Restaurant and Bar. Less than thrilling Tuna Tartar and a Scallop main course. High price for uninspired food. Wine list was awful, the Sommelier should be reprimanded. Would not go back to the restaurant, and state if given a choice.

Even though I’ve enjoyed previous visits to Granite this time I left abruptly to finish my drink and dinner in my room. The restaurant manger advised me that my phone conversation was too loud. The bar was crowded with chatter and there was a band playing.

Love this place! My family comes here for special occasions(birthdays, anniversaries, ect.) and it never disappoints. My favorite is their duck. It’s a play on the classic duck a l’orange. It’s always cooked perfectly and the flavors are amazing! The pork tenderloin is also excellent. Service is great and they always have interesting special. Their house made butters are amazing! Overall never had anything that I didn’t like here!

The Granite restaurant sits Inside this beautiful restored centennial hotel. With a quiet clean dining room that can seat 80. With Chef Corey Fletcher at the helm this place can never go wrong. I have been here dozens of times and never had a bad meal. If you’re going to have a meal or party in Concord NH this is the place to have it.

The Granite is a very nice place, and the atmosphere and service are generally very good. However, we never really find ourselves coming back because the food, while good, just does not live up to the expectations or the price.

We had a very nice dinner there tonight. We started with 3 salads and then we each ordered Half portion entrees which was just perfect for us and allowed the ability to splurge for desserts. I love that they offer the half as an option. So appreciated. The service was great, cocktails, food and atmosphere.

This review of for brunch which is known as the best meal offered at this restaurant. It has all the typical brunch options you would expect, except the brunch is certainly not cheap. The portions are quite small. The cinnamon buns that they offer as a free treat were a great addition to the meal. I did feel a bit rushed in my brunch experience. Overall, the value(price to quality ratio) is disproportionate. I wouldn’t come here all the time, but it’s probably one of the better brunch places in the downtown Concord area.
