no no no no no. Food was either dry or over fried. Would venture over a few blocks and try Washington St Café.

This is a run-down Middle Eastern joint with friendly service and an ample array of labeled vegan dishes. There are no surprises here — you’ll find falafel, hummus, baba ganouj and a lentil soup — but at least you get some tasty and inexpensive food. I tried some falafel balls and baba ganouj. The falafel balls themselves were nicely seasoned and had a bold, smoky flavor. Aside from the unusual mix of spices used at Gamil’s, they also make their falafel in a slightly different way, with a mixture of chickpea and fava bean flour. The fava beans make for a great addition to the taste. The baba ganouj was okay, but not great. I would have preferred a more smoked eggplant flavor and this one just didn’t have it. Gamil’s is cash-only and they don’t have any vegan desserts, but otherwise this is a nice spot.

Not really a place to dine-in, as there is no atmosphere and the set up is kind of random. They were playing a talk radio station instead of music, which i thought was a shame. Has the makings of a good sit down place, but is best for the take out option in my opinion. However, The food is authentic and very good, so it makes up for it. Is a great go to for a town like Concord, which has little in the way of ethnic food. Would try again for sure.

This small place has been a good place to order lunch for the office, and to bring friends and family. I really like the sampling plates and they have a pretty good variety of food, especially for the vegetarian or vegan. I like the King Tut plate, with messegah, falafel, grapeleaves, spanicopita, koufta, chicken, keebee, & megadara. It’s a small family business and the owners are nice. They are cooking from family recipes and you can taste the authenticity, but it’s not overspiced for the New England palette. I always get their hummus and count their falafel and chicken dishes as my favorites there. And, although the name eludes me, they have a special coffee that is right up the alley of the serious coffee drinker.

Simple, cheap middle eastern, somewhat unexpected in new hampshire. The four of us shared a large King tut meze plate which was perfect. Great stop on the way from Boston to destinations further north(or, of course, if you happen to live in Concord).

I went here with four other people for a mini-celebration after the NH All-State concert. My group ordered the vegan sampler platter. Many aspects were delicious, but I have some qualms with the food: our falafel was gross. And I really love falafel. It was so overfried(I’m thinking the oil wasn’t hot enough so the falafel just soaked it up?) that I felt sick after one bite. I also found the garlic in the baba ghanoush was really overpoweringly raw — like, someone threw in big chunks or something. I’m normally a big fan of garlic, too. Meh. It’s cool that Concord has an Egyptian restaurant, but the food could use some improvements.

I had heard about Gamil’s restaurant in a newspaper article. It caught my attention learning it specialized in Middle Eastern cuisine and owned/operated by an Egyptian. I had purchased a gift certificate for my father and decided as a family we would check it out this past Saturday night. Our hopes of a diamond in the rough were quickly squashed. We were greeted by a nice woman. She took our drink order and didn’t come back for 20+ minutes. We were skeptical when the person in the kitchen was a high school aged boy. Another 20 minutes our appetizers came out. The falafel was so burned it had no taste! The tahini had way too much salt and immediately after dropping off the appetizers our meals came out! The tabouli had no or very little barley or lime juice in it that we thought it was a garden salad! The dishes my father and husband orderd, fava beans, didn’t even look like it was the right beans not to mention it tasted horrible. To top it off, there were flys bothering us. I may be Egyptian and could have had really high standards of Gamil’s but the food was horrible by any standard. Service was poor. We had to go else where for dessert to get the gross taste out of our mouths. The one thing Gamil’s did that was great was give us another family memory about the time we went to the horrible Egyptian restaurant. It’s such a shame. My father wanted to go back during the day and speak to the owner and ask if the food we got was the week’s leftovers or if that’s the quality they serve!

If you want vegan with some flavor — this place has it all. The very local feel adds to the homemade food. The platters are enormous, and there are several smaller options. I loved the grape leaves and the hummus was probably one of the best I’ve eaten. Prices are extremely reasonable and if you want to eat outside you have to order inside. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Concord!

If you want lots of cheap, healthy food Gamils is your place! From the outside it doesn’t look like anything special. Even inside I found the Middle Eastern and Egyptian artifacts cheapened the place, but the food MORE than makes up for the ambiance! My husband and I ordered a platter of food that could feed 1 – 2 people(it could have probably fed 3 people too). Everything was fresh, we watched the owner and her son make it right in the dining area. Small portions of everything: tabbouleh, spanikopita, falafel, lamb, chicken, cucumber salad, rice and lentils… the list goes on. Right amount of spices, textures, and flavors. You walk out of Gamils feeling full but sick from fried, greasy foods.

Gamil’s is a family owned and operated restaurant with a home-cookin’ feel and warm, friendly service. Egyptian cuisine sounds different, but lovers of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food will feel right at home. Delicious food at great prices – feed a couple for about $ 25(with two iced chais). They even catered to my spicy fixation and made a separate chili tahini for me. Might be the best tabbouleh, kibbe, falafel, and spinach pie in New England! Also the best vegetarian and vegan choice in Concord NH. Cozy indoor dining, and outdoor sidewalk seating. Highly recommended!

Stopped in here after a meeting in Concord. Was pleasantly surprised to find such tasty middle eastern food in this quiet town. I had the Tabouli salad and a Falafel sandwhich. Accompanied by a green tea. I also got two Baklava to take out. The food was very good indeed and super authentic /simple. My colleague also enjoyed his meal. My only gripe was that she didn’t bring any wheat mixed in with by Tabouli which was strange. I asked her why and she said it was not ready yet. But I was still charged full price. A vital ingredient surely? Also there were no hand towels in the men’s restroom. Small points. otherwise very enjoyable. Will return… if I ever come to Concord… which is not likely. Oh also … very reasonably priced.

Oh hello, lovely. I shall be visiting you for a gyro, oh yes I will! I decided to try this place out after bashing my head in trying to figure out my civil procedure take-home midterm. Eight hours of stress in five pages: Huzzah! I needed a break from reality and some really good food and came to the right place. This place is cheap, cheap, cheap. I walked in during the early afternoon on a Saturday and it was quiet. A woman came out from a side room and took my drink order and gave me a menu to peruse. Little did she know that I’ve been scoping this place out for a while, going through the menu to figure out what would be the absolute best meal I could have at my first time there. I can’t remember the name of the plate that I got. I believe it was a platter with a little of everything on it and I nearly died and went to heaven. I’m finding more and more that I have an affinity for Mediterranean foods and this place definitely delivers. Oh yeah, and they’re baklava kicks butt!

Menu has extensive vegan options(marked vegan)! Very inexpensive for great quantities of food. The Megade with very tasty marinara definitely took me back to the kushari I enjoyed in Cairo. The carrot juice was fresh-tasting. Cooked vegetables were fresh and hot. It is also possible to order food by the pound to go. Staff were friendly. The décor is perhaps a work in progress? The men’s room needs some rehabilitation. There were café tables inside and out. I expect to eat there many times!

CLOSED. The space is now occupied by Primary Diner. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - (ORIGINALREVIEW: 3STARS) Gamil’s Egyptian Cuisine opened up in the former Elizabeth’s Kitchen over a month ago. The awning out front still reads the Butler Did It. This café is very cozy with seating for up to 20 people and open food prep areas(separate vegetarian & meat stations). The place and walls have Egyptian décor. The menu offers Mediterranean food plus sandwiches, pizza, desserts(baklava, carrot cake), cold drinks, and Green Mountain Coffee. Most items are under $ 10. I arrived here on a warm hump day for dinner. It’s seat yourself. I looked over the menu and I was going to order the Macrona Boray, which was baked ziti with cream, cheese, egg, beef, onion, but that item was not available yet. I took another moment to look at the menu again, trying to decide what I wanted. I could have tabouli, red cabbage, egyptian potato salad, hommous, feta, messegah, falafel, grapeleaves, spanicopia, koufta, chicken, keebee, or megadara(rice with lentils, onions, carrots, & seasonings). I decided to try them all! Yes, the offer the KINGTUTWALEMA($ 18.95), in which they serve over a dozen food items on one HUMONGOUSPLATTER. Bring your appetite! The food was ready in 15 minutes, watched the staff assemble the platter using the microwave to heat some items. The platter looked very impressive, but the only item I noticed missing was the falafel balls. There was so much food already. Most of the food I enjoyed including the cool grapeleaves(vegetarian), spanokopia, potato salad, and messegah. The chicken, lamb, and kibbe were on the very dry side. I got much of the food to go. Overall, this is was a good sampling of the foods that Gamil’s offers. If I make it in next time, hopefully they’ll have the Macrona in the kitchen and I may try the Falafel. HOURS: Mon-Sat: 11AM-8PM
