Very, very good food and loved my beer. Friendly atmosphere. Wonderful stop before our concert.

It’s been a weird day, so I took a chance and ordered a bunch of things I dion’t normally like. I don’t care much for corn dogs, but the bartender recommended the corn brats, and they were yummy. I ordered the wedge salad, and when I said«wow, that’s a lot of dressing,» the server offered to take it back and re-do it. Glad I didn’t send it back: the blue-cheese dressing was great. Sat at the beautiful wood bar and admired the stained glass.

Our entrée got lost as did the couple next to us. Bartenders were understaffed. After my husband, an hour after ordering, talked to mgr the mgr disappeared. The beers were good.

Absolutely awesome! Gorgeous character and atmosphere! Food, beer, and cocktails were delicious. We had the crab cakes and pork porterhouse and both dishes were very tasty and filling. If you like pickles I also recommend a spicy pickle shot for fun, it was fantastic and the service was exceptional!

I went there with my boyfriend for an anniversary dinner and was less than impressed. The host tried to seat us at high tops in the bar section, when we asked for a real table he was annoyed. It took him a few minutes to seat us after that. But when we got to the dining area, there were several empty tables(in fact, the table next to us didn’t get sat until we were leaving). I got the medallions– they were really thin and small. The sauce was ok at best. My boyfriend got the porterhouse and it was better than my meal but not $ 20 good. The meal was an overall disappointment.

We were in Columbus for a volleyball tournament and got to eat here. They have a gluten free menu available which was great for my daughter. I had a habanero chicken sandwich and it was awesome. They have their own beers and if you are an IPA person, you should try the Big Vic’s IPA.

The historic building is incredible. But unfortunately, that’s where I stopped being impressed. We got there close to midnight on a Saturday, and I can’t say how things usually are in this area of Columbus, but the place was disturbingly dead. We got two flights of the beer, which let us sample 6 of them. According to the menu, it looked like each one was award-winning. But that could be all self-proclaimed. They were each fine, and seemingly German style, but that can be boring for some.(Myself included). I wouldn’t seek any of them out if there were other choices. The final nail in the coffin was that the place had a faint, yet definitely noticeable, aroma of urine. The venue definitely has potential. But it’s currently being wasted.

Great food, great beer, great service. An all around win. The Honey Habanero chicken sandwich was excellent!

Great food. Long beer selection and big seasonal selection. Bartenders are very professional and nice. They can answer any beer question without making you feel dumb. I highly recommend.

Elevator did a great job accommodating our party when we showed up with 3 more people than we thought we would, giving us a party of 11. Brandon, our server, was the champ of the night. He kept drinks flowing, let us know how the food was coming, and had a great personality. Restaurant week food was excellent — rack of lamb was cooked and seasoned perfectly, sauerkraut balls were delicious, corn brats were fantastic as well, and the beers were pretty good too. Overall, would highly recommend.

Well, here goes a one star review. I sat at the bar(fixed seats make it cramped anyway) with the expectation of having drinks and dinner. The bartender went by me many times and never even looked at me. He was busy but he wasn’t slammed. I gave it ten minutes and left. Big fail, especially because I had such a good experience a couple four years ago. Never again.

We came here for NYE dinner with my sibs and a friend of my sister’s. The interior is really cool. The food was… eh. I wasn’t overly excited about this place. The food was decent and they had good cocktails. I don’t think I would come back, though.

I’ve come by this place several times, so I was glad to have the opportunity to actually experience it. The service was really good and the food was good as well. Overall this place was nice. The reason it’s not getting the five is that for the cost, in Columbus I would expect truly stellar and while it was good, it just missed stellar. If you’re looking for a good meal and a good drink, this place is a good bet.

As I am a microbrewery fan I was drawn here for the beer initially. The interior is pretty cool — with it’s history, etc… but a bit dark and dreary. The in house brewed beers are very good. Tonite I chose the Dark Force Lager — which did not disappoint. I have eaten here before and have always gone with a steak — which has not disappointed. Tonite, based on bartender recommendation I went with Shrimp Etouffe. A little disappointing. Not a lot of flavor, spice. Shrimp were small and not plentiful in dish. Also — I think I counted two slices of Andouille.

If only it wasn’t so dirty. That’s really my biggest complaint. The almond crusted chicken salad is amazing, but just not amazing enough to get over how incredibly dirty the booths and walls are. If you aren’t dusting the parts of the restaurant that I can see, how can I believe that the parts that I cannot see are clean? Besides the dirt, I learned today that the food is not fresh. Decided to try the vegan stirfry and requested no onions. The waiter came back out and advised they could not remove the onions from the frozen vegetable mix. It was at that moment that I realized I had just ordered a $ 12 lean cuisine.

I had my birthday meal here with a large group. It was the second time I had been there for a birthday, with around 16 people. Most restaurants will not reserve a table for this many people — at dinner time — on a Saturday night — on short notice! The manager was kind enough to fit us in where most places wanted none of it. We went at opening for dinner and of course got seated right away with drinks soon after. We were given two servers for our group, so we were always well cared for. The draft beer is good! I buy it bottled from local drive-through’s. They have a fairly good selection of foods, although just about everyone goes for the burger, or the chicken sandwich. They would probably do well to expand on the burger menu and cut back on some of the more adventurous choices. Overall, a great place for groups. Not too noisy, large booth/tables that can accommodate a lot of people. A good *looking* place with great décor, and nice large paintings. And fantastic service/management. I’m sure we will be back.

Lunch with a work partner. Fast service, great food, great atmosphere. Lots to admire in the structure of the space itself. And it has a rich history, so something to talk about if nothing else. I can see it as a great place to meet a blind date, after work for apps. If you don’t have anything else to talk about, you can fall back on the place itself!

Visitor from pittsburgh. Stopped there before a concert at the nationwide arena. Excellent beers, good service even though it was totally packed wall to wall. Had a big steak with Brussel sprouts and 2x baked potato which was very good. Hummus with pita was good but a bit spicy if you don’t like some heat. Nice experience. Would tell others to try the place just for the beer alone.

Not at all what I expected! I’ve been to the tap room which is very low key and casual. This place was far from that. The building is absolutely beautiful! It feels old and fancy as soon as you walk in. The menu is pretty extensive with lots of options for a pretty decent price. The portions were also pretty large. I ordered the Thai tenderloin salad. It was seasoned well but I wanted more beef(it’s really more of a personal problem so maybe I’ll order a beef entrée next time??) My boyfriend ordered the rock steak. You cook your choice cut of meat(he chose tenderloin) on a 400* lava rock. That’s right. A lava rock. It’s like getting fajitas at Chili’s but 1000X better. Overall, the experience was great. Like a high end steak house but with a much much better price tag.

People seem to be very enthusiastic about the Elevator, but I have never been super impressed. The beer is okay, the food is okay, but overall it’s nothing special. I will say that the building and the interior is pretty special.

Had an IPA and hybrid hoppy wheat beer that were ok. Sweet Chili wings were ok too, but nearly standard. All 3 hit the spot… C+ I won’t order dinner, as the menu is a little spendy.

As you enter, there is a long, fine looking bar to the right. Overall, the place felt more like a restaurant than a bar. The food menu is much more upscale than bar food, but it also came with upscale prices too. The bartenders had a smug, pompous attitude, but they did provide rapid service. I didn’t have the vibe of being in a brewery at Elevator Brewing. I was disappointed that they did not serve flights. The greatest appeal of breweries to me is to have the opportunity to have beer at that location and either nowhere else or only at limited locations. When I return home, I’ll never have the opportunity for an Elevator Brew so it was disappointing to lose out on the opportunity to sample as many as possible with a flight. I had a pint of IPA and it was an average, standard issue IPA.

Sat at the bar. Had a decent xtra and a normal pale ale. But then I made the mistake of ordering food. I got the vegan stir fry. I know, not traditional bar food, but they offered it. So why not? And it was the single SPICIESTTHINGTHISSIDEOFTHESUN. In a bad way. I love heat when it adds flavor. But this was just epic heat for no reason. So I tell the server it’s like making my tongue want to escape from my inferno mouth and to the servers credit they make it right and drop the food off the bill. Average beer + bad food = nope.

We often come here for lunch with coworkers. Good bistro selections and nice ambiance. Large seating area. Great beer selection and a nicely priced happy hour. Perfect for groups.

Started off on an odd note when the hostess showed us to a table for 2 for our 3 people. OK, mistakes happen and we laughed about it. Server was not very friendly, not knowledgeable about the wines. Red wine brought out was way too warm for serving, needed chilling. My guests reported that their salmon and veal scaloppine were merely OK. My rib eye steak was advertised as hand trimmed, but evidently the trimmer neglected to remove the fat and grizzle, as fully a third of the steak was inedible. Plus, it was covered by some tasteless unseasoned brown gravy, a no-no for a good steak, or even for this one. A real disappointment for $ 32.00! Atmosphere in the historic old building was very nice, so best only go there for a craft beer, skip the food!

Food is always on point. Men’s room is downstairs. Older place not modern at all but it’s a landmark after all. Good downtown location to have a few drinks too.

Great food, spacious place and good coffee. Ask for Kayla to be your server. She took good care of us. Sharp, helpful and attentive. We sat outside on the patio during a beautiful evening.

Just a bar that happens to brew beer. Small house brewed line up, and nothing worth mentioning. The staff seemed impressed with their beer, but nothing was very well balanced. 25 minutes after ordering dinner, it’s discovered they never put it in. They are in a prime location with an eclectic space and it is clear there’s little incentive to perform well. Stop by for a flight if you are on a tour, but there are much better options.

The building is beautiful stained glass everywhere. I went here with a group of 8. Everyone enjoyed their meals I had the rids and tries the pork chops. It was all delicious. Be warned the Cajun fries are no joke! The atmophere was trendy I tought I was in Chicago not Columbus! The servers were friendly enough but not attentive enough. I was a little disapointed when a waitress(who was not my watiress) locked eyes with me know i wanted something and chose to turn and walk the other way. The restrooms are down a narrow stair fairly stepp stair case I would take an older or special needs person here. They have free pool. All and all I would go back but probably not with such a large group.

What a cool building. I was drawn here for the beer mostly and as it would probably be a one-time visit(just passing through Columbus), I went with a couple of their standards. Dirty Dick’s Nut Brown ale had a nice taste but not much body. It actually reminded me of some of my own efforts at homebrewing(which is not a total slam — I made some good ones on occasion). This beer tasted a bit off — like maybe it wasn’t finished. Three Frogs IPA is much better, but I do like IPAs in general. This one hit the spot. Beer may have been the main draw but food is important too. Elevator’s menu is fairly well rounded and I had plenty that I considered ordering. Sauerkraut balls seemed like a logical choice. You don’t see those everywhere. Although pretty tasty, they were a bit mushy and the panko crust was maybe a little over fried, bordering on but not quite burnt. Still, I enjoyed them. The Cajun chicken penne perhaps is the opposite sort of choice — you can find this or something similar in many places, including chain restaurants, but I was in the mood for a pasta. Elevator is no chain restaurant and their version of penne chicken is quite delicious. A little pricey, though. The ambiance, which obviously includes the cool building, is nice. No loud music. I sat at the bar and the only complaint is that the bar stools are all very wobbly, at least mine and the two to each side were. A little uncomfortable, that, and my back let me know about it afterwards. If I were to come here again, I’d choose one of the bar area tables or maybe go into the main dining area. Bartender was attentive, friendly in a brusque, ‘hey dude, whatcha havin’ sort of way. He didn’t let my glass stay empty and asked if I needed anything else a couple of times, which is about right. Elevator is a fine pub. It’s a little expensive for what is, though.

My friend Dan Goodall introduced me to this very unique and awesome place. Every time I come here I feel right at home. The bartenders who i’ve met so far are very knowledgable about the menu and alcoholic beverages and friendly. The happy hour here from 3 – 7 is awesome. The bar has a very old style look to it but very stylish and upscale if you will. They have a nice bar area which is relatively big compared to some other places downtown. And a very nice dining room area where you can talk and eat/drink the night away with good friends! I give this place a 4 out of 5 just because I haven’t sat in the dining room yet and haven’t had there waitress or waiter service yet

I have only eaten here once, but the food was good, if a little expensive, and service was awesome. I have drank here quite a few times. They have 3 dollar pints for happy hour, which is great, especially compared to other downtown bars who fail to have any good happy hour specials. The interior of this bar is gorgeous, and they have pool tables in the back. They have a patio, though there really isn’t anything to look at out there. Worth it for a happy hour stop.
