I have been coming here for years, and Chris the owner is very personable! The buffalo shrimp is my favorite! Very efficient but the selection is always so fun and fantastic. The staff is very tight from the way it seems from my point of view. I have signed my leases for my rental company here for years when he was on Campus. Customer service and quality/taste combined, is why this spot is one of my favorites. And the dessert! I’m a big dessert guy, and don’t understand why other restaurants don’t have dessert options, but love my slice, fountain drink and cheesecake, all for under $ 12!

I have been to this Pizza Rustica different times and never disappointed in the service that I get. I always get Huge Slice Pizza, Salad, and Drink(Diet Dr. Pepper) combo for about $ 10.99. I get a different slice based on my mood and what is great. I love Con Pepperoni, Pepperoni and Mushroom, BBQ Chicken, Supreme, and different pizzas that I like at Pizza Rustica. The staff, manager, and owner are great people.

As noted by the other reviewers, the pizza is not stellar, but the fresh-ish ingredients and the relatively quick line makes this a fast, inexpensive pizza lunch option. I partook of the big slice combo which included a large«slab» of my chosen pie(pepperoni and banana peppers), a side salad(fresh mozz, greens, olives, tomato, and some kick ass house made balsamic dressing), and a drink. I was glad that the piece of za I received was thinner; I noted that my co-worker’s piece was super thick and doughy. Because my crust was relatively thin, it pleasantly crisped up in the oven. Will likely return if I’m craving a quick, cheesy lunch. However, I do miss Café Daniela, which previously occupied this space, and those killer mozzarella + prosciutto paninis.

Great food for a lunch break or when time is an issue. I recommend the Stromboli. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasty. The service was great, I have no complaints. I’ve rated this a 4 and not a 5 because I absolutely love pizza and it is extremely difficult to land a 5 with me!

We had just drove into the city and we were instantly drawn to the glass windows and relaxed vibe. Being from Chicago, it’s hard to pass up on anything that says«Pizza». We explored the menu for a little while and landed on the pulled pork pizza. My family and I thought the dough was awesome and the flavor of the sauce and pork combo was delicious. Not only was the food great, it didn’t take long at all and the service was fantastic. The staff(Chris) was extremely friendly and even gave some tips on where to go when visiting the city. Also, it looked like they had some awesome looking calzones, which is what I’ll be trying next time. Enjoy !

Worst Hawaiian pizza I’ve ever had. Burned. Didn’t even taste like Hawaiian. Not recommended.

The pizza did not taste fresh at all. It tasted more like a cracker with reheated cheese on it. Ultimately, it didn’t have much taste and they dumped a ton of oregano on top to «add» flavor apparently. I don’t know if I got unlucky with the freshness or what, but I threw my second piece out. I will not be going back, especially at $ 5.50 a slice.

Delicious pizza and extremely friendly staff! I went in rather late at night so the by-the-slice options weren’t available but I took a small pizza to go and it was great. Everyone was pleased– even the picky eater of the group.

Rustica is one or two changes from becoming a mind-blowing pizza-by-the-slice place. As it is now it stands above the colder, boring Sbarro and its clones, but falls too short to being memorable. This shop is downtown, first floor of the Huntington Building; it’s storefront slants the southwest angle of broad and High, a quick serve concept to feed the weekday lunch crowds, Somewhat quality oriented, their pies are not sitting lump under hot lamps, they finish them via oven after ordering. There is many to choose from gourmet green garnished to classic pepperoni topped. They also offer a selection of salads. A meal deal of pizza, salad, and drink for 10 and change. The clerks are quick, and the process doesn’t take long. I chose a slice of Buffalo Ranch. It was much more spicy than I expected, being loaded with ripe red peppers, but the surprised was welcomed as I like spicy. The slice, a square section of smaller squares, was large for the 4 – 5 dollar price range. The pros were the fresh – I mean farm fresh – ingredients of the slice. Favorable chicken, clear tasting veggies, sweat cheese, and fresh mild sauce were impressive. Add the spicy kick that burnt nicely on the tongue and lips the meal should had been rated higher. Unfortunately, the con negated the pros – the crust. The base crust was on the level of frozen pizza. It wasn’t gross, or bla-uck but under the fresh, very quality ingredients the crust blandness, thickness, and a bit overcooked hardness stands out more so. If they get the crust issue worked out and it be a 4 – 5 star place for a quick pizza place.

If I had to sum up Pizza Rustica in one sentence, I’d describe it as an inoffensive, but unremarkable, option for a quick pizza lunch downtown. The three best things about the pizza are as follows 1) speed, 2) price, and 3) selection. Honorable mention goes to the pepperoni that they use; it’s the smaller style of pepperoni that gets kind of crisp when you bake it. The first of the factors listed above, speed, really speaks for itself. But, here’s a little more info about how it works. They pre-make a bunch of different huge pizzas which are then cut into rectangles.(Think about the size of school cafeteria pizza.) You pick the kind you want, they heat it up, and then cut your rectangle into six squares. As for selection, if you’re the type of person who likes lots of random toppings on your pizza, then you’re in luck. They usually have a wide variety of options. Sufficiently many that it’s not reasonable to list them all here. Most of them are variations on traditional pizza themes though, so don’t expect anything too wild and crazy. And that’s about it. The pre-made factor limits the quality a bit; you just can’t compare it to a freshly baked pizza. The crust is a little thicker than a traditional tavern cut pizza, but it’s not really a thick crust pizza. It’s added size does allow it to soak up some extra grease, which may be a good thing depending on your preference. And there you have it. Pizza that is fine but not great. It works when you’re in a hurry or have limited options. I wouldn’t make it my go-to pizza in Columbus though.

This place is great for a quick bite of pizza that’s definitely better than what you’ll find at most larger chains. I really like the crust as it’s thinner and more like the pizza you’ll find in Italy. They usually have about 10 varieties to choose from on a given day, so ignore the huge list on their website. The price is quite affordable too especially for a downtown location.

good from afar far from good. It looked amazing in the display case. The sauce was light the bread was very doughy. Not a many choices. Salads in the small containers didnt look that fresh or appealing. I would have rather had cicis buffet.

Just ate lunch here, had an awesome experience! Friendly staff from the moment we walked in. Got our pizza, drinks which was good, but the server went out of his way to give excellent service, refilling our drinks(at a pizza place??) and giving us pointers on what to do around town

Stopped in for lunch. Wanted to order their gluten free pizza. Only option was a 10 inch round pizza for $ 10.99! Too expensive! When I told him it costs too much he said, you can have a salad. Thanks buddy but no… eat them every day.

This is my 2nd experience with Pizza Rustica and it will still good. I had not had the make your own salad until today and it was huge! All the toppings were extremely fresh, crispy, and flavorful. The only problem I have is that I requested zucchini on my salad and I’m done eating and never found a single zuke… but overall it was a really good salad and the bread stick you are given resembles a pokey stix from Gumbys… took me right back to college:) I will be back to create new salads throughout the summer. And for such a large salad it is not very expensive either.

Pretty solid lunch spot. There are typically 8 to 10 types of pizza to order. They throw it in the oven to warm it up before serving it. The pieces are huge, yet only around five bucks. Pretty tasty too. The meat pizza and BBQ chicken are great, and you can’t go wrong with good old pepperoni. I wouldn’t go there for dinner expecting anything fancy, but it hits the spot at lunchtime.

One of a few healthy options for lunch in downtown Columbus. Their«Build Your Own Salad» offers a wide variety of option not normally found in other places, such as shrimp, anchovies, roasted garlic, roasted portobello, roasted squash and zucchini, and sun-dried tomatoes. Good place to pick up lunch after a workout.

Hit this place up for the first time a week back, and I have to say I’m pretty underwhelmed… It should have been a clue that after the Pride parade the place wasn’t swamped with business, since it was right at the start of the parade, and there were a ton of people in the neighborhood. For the $ 4 or so you pay you get a fairly large ‘slice’ of pizza that is really like six smaller pieces still mostly together. Which does make it far easier to eat then the huge rectangle it looks like. The issue I had was the same quite a few other reviewers did as well, there was just not a lot of flavor for the pizza, and the crust was lacking in depth. It did seem to be a reheat or frozen base crust, and was not very impressive. Would I try it again? Probably not… Would I recommend it to anyone else? Also probably not. Just so many better pizza places to chose from in this city. Why settle?

This place was one of the only places we found open around 11:30am so we tried it out. I have a few opinions on Pizza Rustica that I’d like to share: — firstly, why were the doors propped open when it was 84 degrees with 78% humidity? — the pizza offerings were slightly of the norm and loaded with toppings, but nothing too creative. — I asked the cashier a few questions about the pizza — originally from Saint Louis, I want to know about the cheese & crust — and she looked at me like an idiot. — there isn’t a menu per se, but they have«some» sandwiches, pizza slices and salads. That’s about all. It’s hard to really review this place… it fulfilled our lunch need, but nothing stood out as fantastic OR horrible. I will say, I was surprised to see my usual — Banana Peppers & Pepperoni(see picture)!

The pizza tasted like frozen pizza. They reheat the ones they have displayed for you which was a little disconcerting since the pizza could have been sitting out all day for all I know. Nothing spectacular about the selection and same goes to the taste. For frozen pizza tasting food, would have preferred if it was cheaper. We got the combo which came with a salad and fountain drink. Salad leaves were old and wilted, croutons were rubbery and salty.

I really thought this was going to be an amazing pizza place. But immediately after I tasted the pizza I was ready to leave the«joint» Not sure if it was that time of the day, but the pizza was just bland… No real flavor to it. Oh well I was only in town for a few days …

For lunch it was fast. It wasn’t great, it wasn’t that bad. For it’s thicnkness, the crust was a bit crispy for my taste. I got the supreme which had pepperoni, another type of sausage, some green peppers, and onions. There may have been ham. The place itself has ample seating consider the crowd that gathered around 12:30. The time between ordering your slice and getting your slice is short.

The pizza crust left a lot to be desired. Really it tasted like I had made a frozen pizza then reheated it later. OSU students might be okay with cardboard crust but not here in downtown. It’s a shame as the old Caffé Daniela had better pizza. In addition, Café Napolitana has better pizza(although not by much, 2 stars) and you get more of it. Once the newness wears off they will not be able to compete with Napolitanas
