I went to Melt this morning for bunch and ordered the Wake & Bacon, a grilled breakfast sandwich with 2 fried eggs, a good helping of bacon, and melty pepper jack cheese(usually it comes with American) on thick white bread. I was pretty underwhelmed. The sandwich was really heavy but not especially flavorful, the bacon was chewy rather than crispy, the bread was grilled in oil and not butter, and the pepper jack was bland instead of zesty. The fries had a really good seasoning, but were not crispy at all. I’ve come here I couple times before and gotten the Cuban War Pig, the Chicken & Waffles, and the Mighty Macaroni sandwiches. They’ve all been pretty good, but not tasty enough to justify the feeling of something-fried-n-topped-with-cheese-and-fried-again you get for the rest of the day after eating at Melt.

Great food. Fun atmosphere(kinda loud for the kiddos though). Lots of great food, and lots of options for drinks! You have to try the Korean War Pig sandwich.

So my boyfriend is very critical of every restaurant, he’s more of a «get the bang for your buck or just cook at home», rather than«get the good quality for a few bucks more». Well when I mentioned we were going to a Gourmet grilled cheese place he of course was already thinking the worst. I personally had been to the short north location a few times and loved it. We were greeted very friendly and seated right away. The lively atmosphere on the sunny day was very refreshing. He ordered the Lake Erie Monster and I ordered the Summer Chicken. They were both amazing. I almost liked his better, the cod was cooked perfectly. Needless to say he ended up being a very happy boy.

Great selection of vegetarian and vegan choices. Great selection of nuke the diet choices. A nutrition guide would be helpful in navigating the mine field. Great staff they helpful but limited in nutrition knowledge about menu. Yummy and not always good for you food.

Went with a smal group.(8) My Monte Cristo was great and huge. Fries are terrible. I suggest requesting a salad or ditching fries somehow. The size is to be expected as their signature gimmick I think. The service was barely acceptable. It was busy, but the place is always busy so what’s the deal? All the servers seemed so swamped yet not really doing anything. I waited tables for 10 years, i know busy and ignoring. Why do they always seem so shocked to be busy? YOUAREBUSYEVERYDAY! Of couse dry glasses and no special requests honored or sauce sides. The TVs were so loud we could not talk. Half of the drafts were out which led us out of Craft Beer into commercial territory. If we have guests, again, that insist then we will return but otherwise… order to go.

I have eaten here twice in the past month & have to say that despite being busy both times, the service and the food were both exceptional. The bread is high quality(and they make great croutons with it). A half sandwich is way more than a generous portion of food and the fries are great(although I wish mine were a little more crispy). The salads are huge and make great leftovers. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. Very knowledgeable about their beer selection. I’m glad I gave them a try.

Just a regular sandwich on thick bread that is impossible to eat. Also, who puts bok choy on a sandwich… horrible idea. The fries were not fresh. No place to stand when waiting for a table. I am not sure why it is so popular. I wanted to like it.

What’s not to love? Bread and cheese atop whatever else your heart desires… This tends to be the place my mom and I frequent when we lunch together. We’ve never had a sandwich that we didn’t love! I rarely order the same sandwich twice… Though I have been known to devour the Bushwood club and Good Burger on more than one occasion Couldn’t tell you what all we’ve ordered in the past, but it’s all been good, very very good. French fries are out of this world along with their vegan three bean chili With such a wonderful eccentric staff and atmosphere to match(by that I mean decorations) there’s something for everybody! Literally…

Had the mac & cheese melt with tomato soup. Amazing. G had the meatloaf melt. We also had pierogi appetizer. Definitely recommend this place.

Look, it’s not that this place is bad. But it’s just nothin’ special. The bread is thick and greasy, there’s just TOOMUCH cheese and whatever else you decide to put inside the sandwiches. .. it’s just kind of what is wrong with American food. I could have literally eaten leftovers for a week. But I felt kind of sick after just eating half of one sandwich. So, take a look at the pictures, and if this is the kind of thing that appeals to you, you’ll probably be happy. Service was friendly but pretty generically overwhelmed. The effort was there, but it’s not what you would call a smooth operation.

Met some former work mates for an early dinner. This was my first visit to Melt and was very pleasantly surprised with the tasty sandwich(monte cristo) and side of fries. Wait staff was attentive and professional — I will be going back.

If you went to Melt years ago when they only had one Cleveland location, then you know what it used to be. I moved away from Ohio and hadn’t had the change to eat at Melt in probably 5 years. I recently moved back and was excited to have it again. I went to the Columbus-Easton location and was absolutely disappointed. From the flavorless soggy bread to the over-salted fries, it was bad from the start. Also, no coleslaw anymore? That’s what helped cut the salt and cure the roof of your mouth from the inevitable cuts from the crusty bread. Maybe they did away with the slaw because you no longer have to worry about a crispy sandwich. I understand how the success of having multiple locations looks on paper, but the quality is just bad. I used to tell everyone to go here, but now it’s no better than a sandwich from XYZ restaurant and I won’t recommend it. I’m wondering if the original Cleveland location still has the quality of years past. What a bummer.

Surprisingly good for a fancy-yet-casual grilled cheese place, where some sandwiches have so many other toppings in ‘em, you’d wonder how they were a grilled cheese at all. Extensive menu, so-so fried pickles, surprisingly tasty french fries(not very crispy tho), and all three kinds of grilled cheese, including the hot italian, were pretty damned good– and large. I wonder how many of the many sandwiches on the menu really are unique, tho. The modern-yet-classic American roadhouse décor works well and the service was pretty decent. 3.5 stars. I’m not quite convinced it’s worth 4, but I’m curious. Although it might involve a heart attack finding out…

I’ve been here several times now so it’s due for my review. I love coming to this location, it’s never been too crowded as with some of their other locations. The service has always been friendly, quick and just great all the time. It’s a pretty open location, with several stools up at the bar. Lots of TV’s to keep games on. So much to choose from on the menu or you can basically make your own concoction. I love the chix and waffles, but there are many others that I like just as much. A whole sandwich is very big, you will probably only eat half, or like me, half of a half. They do offer half sandwiches orders now which is nice for those who don’t have a big appetite or wants leftovers. Beer selection is nice too!

My husband and I came here yesterday for lunch. I’d had Melt before because I helped serve it at the Unilocal’s Press Tent at the FMMF this year. Although my husband hadn’t had it so I wanted him to try something new. He loved the Monte Cristo he said the combination of the ham and cheese dipped into the raspberry sauce reminded him of a mayorca from Puerto Rico. Plus he got a soup with his order so it paired very nicely. I ordered the Dude Abides and I liked it. I just wasn’t able to finish the half sandwich. My sandwich and roasted garlic tomato soup was enough to fill me for a whole day. Which I don’t eat a lot so that’s a big compliment since my two main meals are breakfast and dinner on a typical day. My husband almost wanted to do the challenge but I said buddy that’s way too much food for you. You might be in a food coma in the next few days if you do it. Altogether this is a great sandwich place and I like the options on the menu. It’s different from the typical American restaurants I’m used to going to.

I wish that I could write a better review for Melt. I have been meaning get here for months but somehow just got around to it. As a lover of cheese, oversized food, and interesting food combos I thought that this place would really hit the spot for me… A swing and a big ‘ol miss. The atmosphere is fun, I love the random holiday décor. But here’s the thing; they built way too small. Maybe it wasn’t their choice, but I’m sure they anticipated being busy. We waited for over an hour so when we went around the corner to be seated and I saw how small the dining area was I was surprised. I would just think that if they are that popular they would have anticipated this. The service was okay. Our server was so hipster, paired with the fact that he had NOTHING to identify him as staff was just odd. The menu was extensive and I was excited. I had the chicken and waffles and I was sorely disappointed. The siracha butter just wasn’t good. The flavors did not work well together. Chicken and waffles is one of my favorite foods, but this was not impressive. My husband felt very similarly about his food. We agreed to return again to give it one more time, but so far… Eh.

HUGE sandwiches! It was unfortunate that we weren’t able to experience the dine-in experience due to the wait for a seat — however — we instead ordered to-go and waited in the lobby for it. The décor is phenomenal. The sandwiches were definitely a two-serving meal, one half one day, one half the next. It’s a nice novelty gimmick that we bought into, but I don’t think I’d get another huge sandwich. It was fun once.

Almost perfect, but they need to toast their bread more. A LOT more. The grilled cheese are phenomenal but the bottoms start to get soggy pretty fast. I’ve been to the Melt Short North and now Melt Easton and both didn’t toast their bread anywhere near enough. Other than that, their food is great! If you’re going to eat here, you might as well get the most unhealthy sandwich you can. Pro Tip: the unhealthier the sandwich is, the better they make it taste. We tried the Cuban War Pig and The Dude Abides. The Dude has a GIANT meatball in it, and the melted mozzarella and marinara make this sandwich amazing. However it couldn’t compete with the War Pig. The mustard, ham, and pork on that sandwich were outstanding. 4÷1÷2015 — Just visited Melt again. This time we got the Monte Cristo and the Hot Italian. Both sandwiches were soooo good, but I was a little disappointed in my Monte Cristo. It had 2 slices of ham, 1 slice of turkey on it. Seriously?! 3 tiny slices of lunchmeat? I basically just ate fried bread with some cheese, and a side of fries. Still tasty but disappointed that Melt is already skimping on toppings after only being open a few months.

This is such a great addition to Easton! I have seen it downtown, but hadn’t really been interested in battling parking to try it. Well, I am SO glad that I finally tried it. As most have mentioned, they cater to Veggies as well as vegans. What we started with was Vegan Spicy Buffalo Wings and Fried Green Tomatoes. The wings were AMAZING! Couldn’t tell the difference from real wings — slight texture difference, but no much from boneless wings. The tomatoes were great too! I hadn’t tried them before, and was SO excited to! They come with a corn and remoulade sauce. I would definitely order them again… both appetizers actually. My husband ordered backyard BBQ w/veg chicken and I ordered Parmageddon. Be warned… the portions are HUGE! The BBQ sandwich was great! I can’t say so much for the Parm sandwich… maybe it’s just the combination of toppings. We’re both excited to try more on the menu… then I’m sure my 4 will be a 5.

This is a tough one for me. I love the idea, vibe and great beer selection but I felt dirty after stuffing my face with some ridiculous sandwich at lunch. I had to go home and sit in the shower with my clothes on because of the guilt of eating a 3,000 calorie lunch. I could see hitting the downtown location after a Jackets game or for dinner and beers but the Easton location was too commercial. I enjoyed the cuban sandwich and the meatball sandwich was good but I don’t think I’ll be a regular at this location.
