Had dinner here on Friday after arriving home from a long week away. This place never disappoints. Sat at the bar w/my husband, enjoyed wine, conversation w/the bartender(and he was busy! But still friendly & courteous). This is becoming our regular stop. Thanks again for always serving delicious food & great service!

Nothing pisses me off more than when you try a new eatery and it sucks! Another Columbus, OH restaurant bites the dust! Matt the Miller’s tavern in the Polaris section of town won’t be seeing us again anytime soon. Just like almost every other eatery in this nickel-and-dime college town, the food was as bland as white rice without the white. First, we ordered appetizers that never made it to our table. The waitress apologized and took them off the bill. We didn’t want them off the bill. We wanted them on our table so we could eat them. I had an Atlantic Cod beer battered sandwich. I couldn’t taste the beer in the batter or the tarter sauce in the brioche bread. And the fish was overcooked. Fish is supposed to be flakey. This was so soft and tasteless I felt like I was eating a mashed potato sandwich. Their chef isn’t fit to cook in a high school cafeteria. My kids ordered pesto hamburgers, but got hamburgers with no pesto. It was a joke. They could have gotten a better burger at White Castle for a quarter of the price. My wife ordered a veggie portabella burger that didn’t even taste like portabella mushrooms. Whatever it was was smothered in some kind of whacky sauce that was just disgusting. Remember the name: Matt the Miller’s Tavern. You’ll be better off at a junk food joint!

We were only able to choose one restaurant during restaurant week and clearly it was a mistake. They quoted a wait time of an hour. But they were off by an additional thirty minutes. We sat at our table for a good ten minutes before anybody greeted us. Our waitress was fine, but the food was pretty awful. The Matt the Miller salad was the highlight. I got the filet medallions and one was totally inedible. I ordered it medium rare. And the one was so over cooked it was solid. And both were so heavily seasoned! I asked to send it back. Then the«chef» came out in his WIFEBEATER and pointed at out table and sneered. I got another medallion and it was better but so over seasoned my husbands comment was, chef must be a heavy smoker and can’t taste things. Looking forward to dessert with my meal being so poor. And it was horrible. Old and dried and nasty. I ordered the bread pudding and it is VERY clear when it’s past its prime. Over all for a $ 80 meal I would have expected better service and something tasty. Second time we have been here and both times have been disappointed. And even more because I chose this to be a treat.

Great experience tonight at Polaris Matt the Millers. Immediately greeted in busy bar area by Megan, super friendly and helped us find an open seat at the bar. Great atmosphere and enjoyed the drinks and food! Thank Mr. Barnum for the drinks too! Would recommend to our friends!

In town on a business trip and found this place on Unilocal. We were a party of six and we were quickly seated. Really nice atmosphere and great service. They had plenty of menu options and a gluten free menu for one of my colleagues. We all enjoyed our dishes. I loved the tuna flatbread. I will be back next time I am in town.

Solid four stars all around. I came here with my mom on Martin Luther King Jr. Day for an early lunch. We walked in around 11am when they opened. We were seated quickly and by the time we left(45 minutes later) the entire restaurant was packed. We were greeted by a nice hostess who let us pick our table in the bar area(far from the front door as it was a chilly day). As I had a drive back to Louisville we did not partake in the alcoholic beverage selection. That being said, the beer menu is pristine! I cannot wait to come back here on my next visit and try the variety of craft beers they have on tap and in bottles. My mom raved about this place and loves their burger so she ordered the Burger and Sweet Potato fries and I went with the Chicken Salad Plate. The Burgers here are build your own so don’t feel intimidated by the variety they have on the menu. Be creative and make that thing your own! The Chicken Salad Plate was phenomenal. It has a heap of chicken salad, a fruit cup with pineapple and grapes, and a side salad with apricots and walnuts. I ate the majority of the chicken salad and it hit the spot! I’m not an apricot fan but the mom said the salad portion was good! The sweet potato fries were the best! Sometimes they turn out mushy. These did not! Our waiter was efficient and friendly. I actually found our waiter to be top notch. He isn’t overly friendly(I find that to bother me a lot), but he was incredibly knowledgeable and courteous. Kudos to him! I would highly recommend this place for any occasion. I cannot wait to come back to try the craft beer selection and nibble on those warm pretzel bites in the appetizer section!

Solid 3.5÷5.0 — I rounded up for the great management. Stopped in for a bite, this was after the happy hour special, and was told the wait is 30 – 35 minutes for a table. We decided the bar will be just fine since it’s first come first serve. We put two orders of burgers in as well as a couple apps. The pretzel bites and Thai calamari came out right away. Pretzel bites… is a misnomer. They’re more like small fried dinner rolls, skip this as even the honey mustard sauce couldn’t save it. The Thai calamari was interesting… mainly because I didn’t read it carefully so the sweet and sour sauce threw me off. 3⁄5 stars for the calamari. After we finished our beers and the calamari was long gone, we still found ourselves waiting. Heck our check was placed into a bar cup in front of us and our burgers were nowhere to be found. The people who came after us to our left got their food already… odd. The couple on their first date to our right already ate their food, chatted and flirted to their hearts content, and was heading out hand in hand, and here we still sat, burger-less. Deciding the calamari was enough to hold us over, we asked our waitress to see if our burgers were even started yet — it has been about 45 minutes by now — and if not could we just take the burgers off the tab so we can pay and go. Next thing we know the manager came over, Patrick if I remember correctly, apologized to us directly, and informed us that our burgers are 2nd in line and he is going to light a fire under [the kitchen staff]. Within 5 minutes he delivered our burgers to us directly, apologized again, and was very honest and straightforward about the long wait and admitted they’re running behind. He came by later and offered us a $ 10 voucher for next time. Totally unexpected to get the great customer service here from Patrick and the waitstaff. The burgers were okay, salty. My friend has been there several times and he said that it «must have been an off night» so I’ll reserve my judgment until I get to try it again. Actually everything was over salted but I’m hoping next time it’ll be better. Honestly what kept me from writing off this place was the great customer service we received from Patrick the manager. Thanks for the honesty, not taking it personally, and handling it like a pro — I can definitely see why he’s the manager.

Great atmosphere — basically an upscale pub, without the stuffy upscale BS. Fab service, great menu assortment; lots of beers/cocktails to choose from. Happy hour is hands down the best. Much better than any chain restaurant that’s nearby — you won’t be disappointed!

I could not decide between 3 and 4 stars so I will be positive. I’ve only been for brunch twice. I will definitely be back to check out lunch/dinner. What I liked: — The Bloody Mary Bar is cool. Tons of fixins. — They have an amazing Ohio based craft beer selection on tap. — The coffee bar is also very cool. — The food was solid for a buffet. What I didn’t like: — Long wait both times, even with a reservation. — Not enough places to sit while you wait for your table. — The buffet is a not big enough. I think the selection could be much larger. — There is not a lot of space. Maybe it just feels tight on the popular brunch day but I feel like I’m always in someones way and crammed into my seat.

We had a party of 6 people and 3 of us ordered your ordinary turkey /chicken salad sandwiches, ranging between $ 12 and $ 14 — ridiculous! The other 3 of us ordered more expensive entrees, in the range of $ 19 to $ 22, consisting of sea bass, salmon, and panko crusted walleye. The entrees — And I mean all 3 of them, was tasteless, the sides were cold and also tasteless. Although the server was very apologetic and brought out another side, which was at least warm, no manager even came to our table. If you’re really just a Tavern, serve bar food and stay away from trying to serve high-end entrees! We will not be going back!

Make sure you get the free pretzel bites. The two sauces that it comes with were very very good. I have no complaints after my first time dining here. Nice atmosphere. The staff was very nice. My burger was delicious. I asked for grits as a side and got scalloped potatoes instead, but that’s not a big deal. Good overall.

Finally found this location and I am very happy about it. It’s closer to where we live than the Dublin one so new hangout alert! Service was very good and even though it was cold as *&^% outside, I could see in my minds eye people hanging out on the patio where they have two huge flat screen televisions. Inside where it was warmer, televisions abound and not just in the bar area. The food is good and I think I might just go down the list of their flat breads. I had the fig, goat cheese and prosciutto one again(so nice I had to eat it twice) but the pear and Gorgonzola is next on my nom list. Hubs wasn’t impressed with his fish and chips though. He’s a purist and likes them fillet shaped and crunchy and not a rectangle overly breaded chunk like these. The only down point about this place is the location. By that I mean Gemini Pl is not user friendly around it’s area with it’s lack of turn signals at strategic points and the heavy traffic. If you’re coming from the east on the road you’re good to go but from the west. It almost feels like you’re the frog in Frogger.

Great food beer and great service. Really enjoyed the pretzel roll apps. I suggest you utilize the free app on this app The ambiance is nice but the curb appeal from outside tells you to not judge a book by its cover

Great ambiance! Amazing Pretzel bites. Stopped by here when I was passing through Columbus. There weren’t too many options open at 10pm besides other, more common chain restaurants(Skip those for a more local treat). Bavarian Pretzel Bites($ 8.99) — these were perfectly made. Baked like a fine pastry more than a ballpark snack. Crispy on the outside — soft and a little chewy on the inside. Though it came with a few dips on the side, I opted to dip it in a cup of beer cheese soup($ 3.99). Ahi Tuna Flatbread and Soup combo($ 13.98) — the flatbread was a disappointment. It was an odd attempt to mix Japanese fusion on top an overlooked flatbread. The last bite reminded me of an unfortunate time I burned a marshmallow over a fire. Ew. TL&DR: come for the beer and get a few baskets of pretzel bites. Can’t go wrong with those!

The food and atmosphere are terrific. This is one of our very first suggestions for a place to eat in the Polaris area. The pretzel bites and flatbreads are amazing, and the beer selection is fun! The shrimp and grits are not my favorite(I know, it’s everyone else’s). Just know they are not southern shrimp and grits, they must be a northern approach that is very very thick and onion-y(capers and other such fanciness). We always request seating up in the bar area for a little more breathing room from a main dining area that can get pretty busy. The non burger sandwiches are just as large as the reviews on the burgers. So it’s a sure bet that you will leave full.

Matt the Miller’s at Polaris is one of a million chains within a 1 mile radius of the mall. All of these restaurants seem to do well even though there is lots of competition and so far, Matt the Miller’s seems to be stacking up to the competition pretty well. They have a decent happy hour, although the food deals are nothing special… They have several types of martinis and a large beer selection for under $ 5 for happy hour which is nice, but there are better places to go around Polaris for the same amount of money(Marcella’s ½ price pizzas and sangria!). As for the dining experience, the service is always pretty good. They do well with large parties and they don’t have a problem splitting checks. The food choices are pretty average in my opinion, with burgers, steaks, and chicken dishes. The only really unique thing I’ve found that is really good is their shrimp and grits, which is worth coming back for. They also have a weekend brunch which has a variety of dishes, but I personally think it is overpriced for what you get. I wouldn’t recommend their brunch when, like I said, there are about 100 other places to go eat in the same area. Don’t forget to check in when you’re here! It will get you a free order of their famous pretzel bites!

GREATGREATGREAT pretzel appetizer. Quite possibly the best appetizer I have ever eaten(right up there with Ryan’s dinner rolls). Paired with their signature dish, Grits and Shrimp, the meal was VERY good. The food alone gets five stars from me. The reason for the four-star vote? Well, first, I was charged with the pretzel appetizer even though I showed my server I had the Unilocal free appetizer coupon: Nine bucks.

Sunday brunch buffet is awesome! They have an assortment of options and a Bloody Mary bar(pay extra for this). Came here for dinner one night to try their regular menu. Make sure to do the half hour call ahead on Friday and Saturday nights because they get busy. We had an hour wait from the time I called in on a Friday night. I love the food here! The pretzel bites are a must. Order for the table and share!:) It comes with two different sauces, both very good. The shrimp and grits dish was awesome. It definitely has a kick to it, so try it if you like your food spicy! The miller burger was cooked to order and pretty good! It’s huge though. The bun is very thick. The fries that came with it were just okay. Wish they were more like steak fries! P. s. Check in on Unilocal and get the free pretzel bites!:)
