This is my favorite Jamaican restaurant, The food reminding me of being back home, Love everything they have on the menu, They are very friendly, I would eat every day there if I could. If you want to try out some islands or Jamaican food this is definitely the place to go, you won’t regret it.

I rarely see Jamaican food in the IE so I always make sure I eat here when I’m in the area. Very nice workers and fresh food.

This place is amazing! I usually only come here to get a take out order of patties. They are always hot with just the right about if flaky goodness! The only reason I’m only giving 4 starts is because they stopped doing their«buy one get one free» deal for their parties. I used to look forward to that deal every week. I really hope they bring it back. They’re food is authentic and very filling. Great design and atmosphere on the inside as well.

I have been here a few times over the years. I was impressed the first time I came in, but since then hasn’t lived up to that first impression. Came in for lunch the other day and was greeted and seated promptly. The place was empty, but the music was jammin’. They told me the lunch special of the day as I perused the menu. I ordered the Oxtail w/red beans and rice, and flour biscuits. The Oxtail tasted really good, but I only got seven pieces. Each piece was skimpy on the meat and was barely a bite-a-piece. For $ 13.99, that amounts to $ 2 per bite. It tasty, but not $ 2 a bite tasty. I remember it being a bit more hearty the last time I ordered it. Oxtail isn’t THAT expensive. Wont be getting that again. The Red Beans and Rice are called Peas and Rice here, if I am not mistaken. They are quite tasty, especially mixed with the sauce from the Oxtail and a few drops of Scotch Bonnet Sauce. Yum! The Flour Biscuits are just that. Flour. Biscuits. I had never had them before, so I don’t know if they are supposed to taste this way. Dull, bland, clumps of flour dough that is more thick and firm that frozen masa. If this is what Flour Biscuits are supposed to be, a barely palatable filler, then I am not a fan. I tried the Kola Champagne soda, and I must say it is quite delicious. I crave it right now in fact. Wish it could be bought by the 2-Liter. The staff is friendly but quiet. The restaurant is as clean as can be. The location is a bit jenkey. I come back and give the Jerk Chicken a try sometime soon.

Tried their fried chicken and was pleasantly surprised good flavor and sauce I wish they gave you a few more plantains and salad cause it’s so good, will definitely go back I’ve been told from friends in the office that the oxtail is the best, I’ll have to try that next.

Just discovered this place as my sister and I wanted to try something different for lunch. We came in and saw the Wednesday lunch special which was BBQ beef ribs for $ 5.99. It included two beef ribs, veggies, rice and peas, festivals, and plantains as well as a soda or water bottle. This was seriously such a great deal for everything that was included with it, we couldn’t believe it. Our beef ribs were a bit skinny but the meat that was on it was tender and very tasty. Everything else, especially the plantains and veggies were super delicious. Service was friendly and you just pay at the register when you’re done. I will be back to try Friday’s lunch special(Jamaican fried chicken!) :)

I don’t think the words in writing her could adequately describe how satisfied and happy my mouth is right now. The oxtail is absolutely delicious and worth every cent. Coming here to eat was probably the best decision I’ve made all day! Not to mention, the ppl who work there are very kind :)

Great services love the meat pies. But if you’re going to order a big order you must call in advance to make an order because they won’t make it. But it is a little cozy place with nice food too bad they don’t have one close to home

Yes, it’s a food truck, but don’t let that dissuade you! My first impression was of the lady taking the lunch orders. She’s super nice and knowledgeable. I’d guess she’s the owner, and it shows that she takes pride in her trade. The food was tasty and authentic(as far as I know). They even had bottled Caribbean drinks available for purchase. The lunch combos are cheap and a great value. I’ll be back!

The first you notice is that this place is clean and simple. It’s going to let the food do the talking and the talking is good. First off Patties: Perfect mix of meat, spice and buttery pastry. Heaven sent. Love the kick to the beef patties, just right, and the chicken curry sets off the pastry really well. Mains: Oxtail — standout dish. Oxtail is so underrated but when you have this combination of flavor and slow preparation, you realize what an exceptional dinner choice this can be. Comfort food at its finest. Pair with festivals and vegetables. Dumplings are good but they’re a little too heavy and simple against this rich sauce. Jerk Chicken, juicy, perfectly marinated in a rich sauce with all the right notes. Run it around your mouth: ginger, thyme, cinnamon, allspice, onions and sugars. Other Unilocalers complained this can be dry but I’ve never had anything but good. Don’t expect to find this bathed in sauce it just not done. Best with beans and rice. Curried Chicken: Not like any Indian or Japanese curry, this is true Caribbean fare. Hearty and subtle spicing that pairs perfectly with dumplings. There’s Scotch Bonnet pepper sauce to really kick this up but don’t do that till you’ve experienced the fresh thyme and garlic base. You can usually pull this apart with a spoon so lap it up a don’t be afraid to lick the bones, although you’ll get frowned on if you lick the plate. Gotta say I was tempted. Goat Curry: Unfortunately the owner doesn’t like goat so he can’t make a recommendation but believe me it’s good. Less boney and fatty than other Caribbean places I’ve tried and that’s a plus. Another winner with the curry sauce. Pair with boiled bananas. Brown Stew Chicken: Gourmet gravy of sugar, onions, garlic and more. Chicken isn’t marinaded so it’s different again from the curry or jerk. It’s cooked in the stew so it’s juicy through and through. Would be WONDERFUL with chips(aka French fries) but the restaurant doesn’t do them. Go with the plantains instead. Drinks: Ting(oh yeah), ginger beer and imports of Sof Drinks. Try the pineapple & ginger. Only downside is there’s no beer and the foot would be exceptional with a Red Stripe or 4. You lose a star for this.

Thank you again Unilocalers! As a taxi driver who gets extremely tired of fast food. I was delighted to find such positive reviews on this place. After a fare landed me just 1 mile from this lovely place. I started reading the reviews and finally decided to call and place an order to go. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and fried plantain. They said it would be ready in 10 min. Wow! Super fast! I actually showed up in 5 min. Since I was so close. I decided when I walked in to add an order of festival. Everyone was very friendly and polite and I really dug the way they acted like one happy family with eachother. Really makes you feel at home. The restroom was pretty clean which is a huge issue for me and gives me a sign as to how clean the establishment probably is. Love the décor! Well once back on the road with food. I popped a festival in my mouth and I fell in love! They are soooo good! Its like a perfect marriage of corn bread and biscuit. I love the mild sweet taste. You must try if you like corn bread at all you will love them. While waiting for a passenger I decided to sneak a taste of the jerk chicken, plantain and rice… yep everything was delicious and meat was tender. I am soo coming back here any chance I get. I am already a fan!!!
