I have been here several times, always with the same concerns. The menu is too large, and the flavors are not memorable. The ambiance is very nice, and the dishes are well-plated I read an article in the Gazette showing they have had 25 critical health code violations, some for storing moldy food with fresh food. I will not be back after that recent revelation.

Very authentic scenery, although their lunch specials could of been more of a special. Truly they are good, just be ready to come out of pocket.

I came in for lunch today and was really impressed. The décor is very pretty and the service was great. Jesse, my server, sold me on the buy one roll get the other one half off deal. I’m happy I got the deal because my Rainbow roll was probably the freshest one I’ve ever had. It was delicious and rolled perfectly. The only downfall to this place is I wish they gave you soup to begin with. I love soup and it’s a good start to a meal. Also, my hot green tea was a little on the cold side. Everything else was fantastic from the service to the food. I’ll be back.

I felt very cramped while I was there but their food is good and prices are comparable to others. I’ve seen more exotic rolls and selection but for someone who likes the classic it’s good.

I loved this place — been wanting to try it for a while since we moved to this side of town-it did not disappoint! Fresh fish, BEAUTIFUL menu and nice ambiance and great, friendly staff and service. It will be my new go-to sushi restaurant! We arrived just as dinner was opening and it stayed so quiet with my back to the crowd that I assumed no one else was there, but the nice dimly lit atmosphere proved that everyone else that filled up the restaurant loved and desired the same atmosphere… Wonderful!(Regular rolls were fantastic but we got the specialty Diablo roll also… Wow!!!)

Great food. Great sushi. Nice staff. This is my go-to place for sushi. Favorites: the Davey Jones, the Avalanche, the Lobster Roll, tempura veggies, plum wine, desserts are good(if you still have room)…actually, anything I’ve had here has been pretty great!

My husband and I went here yesterday for the first time. We ordered the volcano roll, California roll and a spicy tuna roll. It was nice but something was missing in the flavor. And I feel like the tuna was old, it kinda had a slimy feel to it, not good. But the service was good. My husband had the sake and he said it was good. So I think it is really a tossup try it at your own risk it may be and it may not.

The sushi here is great, and the atmosphere is relaxing and also a very clean place. They have a ton of different options on their menu and some of the most delicious rolls of sushi I’ve had were here. The only downside to this place is that sometimes the service is pretty mediocre. There’s been a few times that my bill was not added correctly. Having said that, it was quickly fixed by them and there were no issues. Highly recommend this place!

Went to lunch here with co-workers. This place has a nice feel. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was great. I couldn’t believe how small the portions were though. I mean we ordered nine rolls initially, and sent the server back for 3 – 4 more afterwards. 12 rolls total– that sounds weird even just saying. Not a huge deal, just an observation. The Zen roll was the standout of the lunch. I mean it is naturally pretty hard to ruin something fried, but this was exceptional. Whatever sauces they dizzled over it was outstanding. This isn’t the best place that I’ve had sushi in Colorado Springs, but it was definitely a stand-out in its own way. I would eat here again for sure.

Horrible service. Took an hour to get our food and the appetizers came after the main courses. The food wasn’t even that great, it was soaked with sesame oil. The waitress didn’t even bring our cups if water till 20mins after being seated. The waitress said, ’ I can’t find any clean cups’… Never going again. NOTWORTHIT.

We were greeted quickly as soon as he saw our little he was getting a high chair! Our food was good, however my husband was not happy about his sushi roll size. To satisfy a craving it’s great. Iwould come back. Over all my kids were content and we were as well. I do wish they had better lighting for mid day lunch customers.

I came in alone for a single sushi roll, and the Bronco Roll(soft shell crab and flying fish eggs) was delicious and filling. The complimentary miso soup was good too. I was greeted immediately and guided to sit wherever I wanted, and promptly had a water served. They have a fancy looking menu and a laminate sushi roll menu. The staff was friendly and speedy. Something strange to me is that there appeared to be no way of sitting at a bar to watch the chefs make sushi. You see them right as you walk in, but can’t sit there. The price is a little higher than I’m used to, so I probably won’t choose it for group dinners, but overall I was pleased.

Check your bill!!! They added $ 10 that was not even showing on the bill, thankfully I calculated it up. Scam artists!!!

Sushi is always fresh. White tiger roll and The Alexander Roll are amazing and very creative. I was very nervous about finding good sushi since Colorado is landlocked and I’m from the coast but this place doesn’t disappoint!

We love Zen! My husband and I eat either in the restaurant or get take out once or twice a week. The food is amazing and the owner is always friendly. We also receive good service. There may be a bit of a wait than what some are used to but remember Zen is NOT a fast food joint. Zen serves unique, great tasting, beautifully presented sushi. They also serve miso soup while you wait. I am not sure how they rate on pricing but I can tell you that if you order traditional sushi or some of their more unique sushi, it is well worth the price! Soooo yummy!!!

Very friendly staff. Went there for a friend’s birthday and we got complimentary dessert! Good rolls and delicious udon noodles too(a tad on the salty side). Definitely will visit again.

I did take out. I’m glad I had made that decision before I walked it. The smell of fish when I walked in the door was over powering. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll and a spicy tuna roll. They were both good. I would get food from here again. Although, I will say, the fish smell was horrible. I won’t be eating in.

Not a fan anymore. Haven’t been back in at least a year. They lost my business after a bad few experiences. Service: Horrifying. I don’t know what happened. I took my sister here, and it was so embarrassing. We almost got up and walked out. Our waiter would come over to our table without saying a word, pour water and leave. It took him 20 minutes to even greet us. The waiter at the table next to us finally figured out what was going on, and started helping us out. He was also taking sake shots with the table next to us, which I mean I get. But you’re not working at a bar. The three of them were just getting loud and obnoxious. That was just one night of a few where our service was just bad. It’s a shame because the guy who I think is running the operation is up front behind the sushi bar. I’ve ordered take out because it’s so close to my house a few times for lunch when I’ve been in a rush, and he’s always really nice. He makes sure to greet everyone when you come and go, too. Food: I’m not sure if they started cutting it differently or reduced the quality of fish. It’s not terrible. But it’s not the best I’ve had out here and the pricing isn’t competitive. Ambiance: Nothing changed. Although, I am always disappointed they don’t have seating at the sushi bar because the sushi chef is the best part of this place. Prices: Just aren’t competitive for the quality they’re serving up. It’s a shame. If I can get better sushi for as much(or even a little more) for a little more of a drive, I will. And I do.

This place could use a little help with a bigger sushi roll selection, seating at the sushi bar, ambiance, and décor. I’m on a quest to try all the sushi places in Colorado Springs at least once and while it may have it’s perks, it definitely has its downside. I ordered a bento box for lunch with the sashimi of the day and was terribly disappointed. Fish of the Day=Whatever is about to turn. I asked the server what the sashimi was and he had to go to the other room to ask the chef. The maguro somehow adapted a color similar to yellowtail. I took a few bites of the tuna but couldn’t taste a thing probably due to the fact it was sitting in a freezer for too long. I heard rumors this place had fish flown in but I know the taste of freezer burn from too many years of mystery Ziplock bags in my own freezer. While I sat in a hard chair, noticing the lone booth, lack of lighting and(surprise surprise) lack of customers, I felt remarkably unsatisfied. My server was friendly enough, knew the basics of Japanese cuisine at least, couldn’t exactly give me any opinion of his own about the rolls(and telling me the ingredient list doesn’t count), but couldn’t produce tea at noon and instead tried upselling alchol. Sake at noon. Mmmm… no. Definitely not coming back. The fish isn’t fresh, the portions are meager and the prices are high for what they give you. I’d rather go to Ai for much better service, food, and ambiance.

Very Tasty Sushi. It is obvious this place is new and they are trying to figure things out. While the service is a little off, everyone was friendly and the sushi chef definitely knew what they were doing. The place is well decorated, reasonably comfortable and the food was good. The menu is primarily sushi with some Japanese and Korean dishes. I look forward to going back.
