Really good option. I’m here only for a few days from California to visit a friend, and since it was his birthday, it was awesome to be able to surprise him with some chocolate birthday cupcakes. They even brought balloons, and it was less expensive than I thought it would be. Thank you!

These have to be the best cupcakes in the Springs!

I enjoy the cupcake truck but have cut back because of the amount of icing. It is a huge ball of icing almost the size of the cupcake itself. I have to scrape off ¾ of the icing in order to eat it. I wish they would switch to a more normal/traditional size of icing.

You can find the Cupcake Truck on Wednesday evenings at the Fine Arts Center during the Farm and Art Market — which is a pretty nice market I might add — and they update their Twitter often which all trucks should do. The prices were average for cupcakes and they had a ton a flavors to try. There are discounts the more you buy. I tried the maple bacon cupcake(of course) and liked it for the most part but was surprised it was so cold, not frozen or anything but not how I like baked goods. Like others have noted the cake is very dense. And the icing tasted goo but it was too thick which made it hard to eat the cupcake in the FAC garden, maybe if they provided napkins and forks it would have been better.

My family is in love with Coco & the cupcakes! We have enjoyed all flavors we have tried… red velvet is amazing, carrot is a favorite, the chocolate is very chocolatey, and the vanilla with the sprinkles is what the little one loves. We even had them at a party and the maple bacon was the surprise hit of the night. They are not cheap, but a great treat. And part of the fun is tracking down the truck and trying a new flavor. A great addition to Colorado Springs.

The cupcakes were more of a homemade quality, not a bakery quality. The frosting is too thick for my tastes. I got mocha, coconut and red velvet. I could tell some serious amounts of either flavoring or liquors were used to flavor them, which I liked but the actual cupcake was quite dry. I’m not sure if they weren’t fresh enough, or if they are designed that way on purpose so they will be heavy duty enough not to get damaged in the truck. Maybe a lighter frosting would show damage so they use extra thick, hard frosting? What ruined the frosting even more for me were all the hard sprinkles on top :($ 2.75 each, with a discount if u buy 4 or more. OK, not really worth the special effort of finding out where/when the truck is parked and driving out there.

Not the best cupcake I’ve ever had, but still worth it. I definitely think that the experience is part of the appeal. Finding the truck around town to get your sweet fix is a fun way to kill some time! We bought 3 dozen for my daughters baptism, so I have tried them all. The pistachio was my favorite hands down. They also have a daily special. I waited for the maple bacon and was beyond excited to give it a go. It.was.gross. It tasted like a vanilla cupcake with bacon. Nothing meshed. Too much bacon-in the cupcake. On the cupcake. I can think of a million ways to make this one better. Other than that salty disaster, I would totally recommend them!

Having lived in San Francisco where there is a cupcake bakery on every corner I have experienced some amazing cupcakes. This, unfortunately, is not one of them. They are not bad, just nothing special. The cupcakes are dense. They are pretty moist just heavy and solid. The frosting is thick, almost as big as the cupcake itself. It too is dense and heavy as a rock. I can only get through half a cupcake without feeling overfull. I prefer a lighter cupcake and a frosting that almost melts when you bite into it. As for flavor the lemon is right on the money(it even has some lemon curd inside). The chocolate is fairly bland. And the pistachio is tasty with bits of nuts in it) but the flavor itself is so strong it tastes like an imitation extract(I don’t know that it is, just tastes that way) Nice people, fun to find it, but if you want a light and delicious cupcake try Mya Bella Cupcakes in Old Colorado City.

Had to try it again. This time got the mocha and the pistachio. The mocha was a solid, delicious cupcake. The crunchy toffee bits on top were a nice touch. The pistachio, though, was a true standou and a unique combination of flavors. Definitely my favorite so far. I also added another star because they contribute a portion of their sales and any additional donations to a local charity each month. Nice touch and nice way to help the community! Plus, they’ll deliver to wherever you are with an order of as few as a dozen. Nice.

Can I just say WOW! I’m really not a cupcake person, it’s a safe dessert for me to bring to potlucks because I might have one, but I’ll be disappointed and never eat more than that. Yesterday I bought 8… gave one to a friend I was with and took the other 7 to my best friend’s office. We sat down and had a cupcake together. Oh. My. BOB! I had the snowball cupcake which is seriously thick chocolate frosting on top of almond cake. It was moist, it was HEAVY, and it was delicious! It was so big and filling, I didn’t need anything else until dinner and I hadn’t had anything else beforehand. I also got a bite of the Vanilla cappuccino with caramel frosting. Soooo good. So good, that I had to leave the rest of the cupcakes at her office. So I had to go back this morning… and get two of the maple and bacon cupcakes. So delicious. I don’t care where they are, the next time they make this flavor, I WILL be there to buy one. I also love the fact that I can follow them on Facebook and have their current locations and cupcake availability sent directly to my phone. And yes, cupcakes ARE2.95…but part of that goes to a lab rescue, so I’m all about it. Bring cash, and get only as many as you want to eat right then. And if you get the maple bacon(like breakfast with sugar on it), leave one for me, I am on my way!

I’d heard of the Denver Cupcake Truck and I knew of one here in COS but hadn’t tried any until today. I’m glad I finally did! I got a Zippy Lemon and Vanilla Party for myself. My husband got two others but he’s not a cupcake person so his review can’t be trusted. I kid, I kid. ;-) Anyway, the first one I tried was the Vanilla Party. I loved that the taste was very vanilla-y. I loved the frosting as well. I think the sprinkles are a little much, but the the frosting and cake part went well together. Would definitely buy that flavor again. I’m a sucker for things lemon and the Zippy Lemon did not disappoint! The cake was moist and the frosting wasn’t too sweet, which I appreciated. They don’t look as pretty as some of the ones I’ve seen, but they taste great! I definitely want to try their other flavors. The person working the truck could probably be a little friendlier. When I think cupcakes I think ‘happy’, and he didn’t seem to be. –_–

We picked up a 4 pack, lemon, chocolate overload, mocha and carrot. All were pretty good, the chocolate was nothing special, just very chocolaty, the carrot got a rave review from my wife the carrot cake lover, the lemon was nice, especially the curd, but the cake was a bit dry, and the mocha was my favorite. I am a fan and will visit again when they are on this side(east) of town, but I agree with a lot of Kaite’s points: a bit pricey for the size/quality, limited hours/days, etc. But, it is great to see this kind of business in Colorado Springs, we are always a bit behind the curve, but hey the we finally caught up with the curve.

I love Coco! Half the fun is hunting them down so you can get your fix :)
