I would give this restaurant 0 if I could. Years ago this restaurant used to have delicious food at a very reasonable price. It had been years since we’ve been there and finally decided to give it another try a couple weeks ago. I don’t normally complaint about restaurants because if I don’t like it I just don’t go back. But this restaurant it’s terrible. The«Posole» which used to be delicious, was tasteless not to mention it had no heat whatsoever. I don’t like spicy food but I do like flavor and this had neither. The pork in the Posole was in chunks and was not as tender as it should be on a Posole. The single cheese enchilada was drenched in sauce and more cheese. Ok, really, who complaints about too much cheese and sauce, but this was over the top where you could not even enjoy the tortilla because it became mush. The chile relleno comes with this queso sauce so my husband ordered to have green chile with it instead of the queso sauce. Even though it was an ok tasting chile it cost an additional $ 7 to just exchange it and the waitress didn’t even tell us it was extra. Over all, the late lunch with one desert(which it was just 2 minuscule sopapillas that tasted like uncooked dough) we paid a whooping $ 60 for just two of us. To compare this better, we went to Paravicini’s Italian Bistro yesterday for late lunch and paid exactly the same amount, and we had 2(not 1) deserts(tiramisu and vanilla/caramel cake) my husband had 2 exotic beers, I had an Italian soda, and two full entrees, salads and bread included. Just saying… This place either needs new owners or needs to close. Don’t waste your money. Not that I care because I will never go back, but if any of my friends and family sees this then I’ve done something good.

A solid family owned Mexican restaurant that’s been in Colorado Springs for something near 50 yrs. They keep a lot of local business which is always a good sign, plenty of regulars to be had. I used them for some corporate catering and everything was excellent. My group enjoyed the food so much I used them the next day for another meeting. Solid green chile with good flavor and just enough bite, the red with pork was also good but I’m a green chile person first. Had great service between several staff members, would recommend to anyone wanting a casual Mexican restaurant in the area.

Not much of a fan of the salsa either, but both the red chili and the green are very tasty. The service has always been very good, genuine, not scripted which is refreshing. I have been eating here for the past 15 years and have not had any issues. They actually smother your food with chili instead of putting on barely enough to even color your plate. They are always happy to accommodate any special requests. I appreciate being able to carry on a coversation without the staff breaking out in song for everyones birthday. Yes I would change the chips and salsa, and update the décor but if you want a great Margarita and some authentic Mexican food while you relax it’s the best spot I know. You can tell that the owners care about the food, I’m sure they use family recipes. No TEXMEX here!

Spectacularly unspectacular. Service: 2⁄5 Food: 2⁄5 Ambiance: 3⁄5 Price: 3⁄5 To start with, the chips were okay. They tasted homemade, which hinted at great things to come. But the salsa was just red enchilada sauce. It was okay, but it lacked seasoning. My enchiladas weren’t great. I ordered a cheese and a beef enchilada. My cheese enchilada was underfilled. My beef enchilada was filled with ground beef for half of it, and shredded beef for the rest. Weird. Weirder still, two black olives mixed in for no apparent reason. I’m tempted to say they were trying to make a picadillo, but they were missing about four ingredients, and used the wrong type of olives. The shredded beef had no flavor — at all. Not even salt. My wife ordered a chimichanga, with no beans. Based on the receipt, the order was entered correctly, but no one bothered to even look at the plate before sending it out. A quarter of the plate was covered in beans. The portion sizes are huge, but it’s clear that the powers that be are more interested in quantity than quality. They will need to make significant changes to keep my business.

Worst Mexican food I have had so far. Dish was barely warm, and I ordered their specialty burrito, which seemed to have a ton of rave. Staff was fast so that’s a plus. But the food is not worth it.

To start off the hostess/waiter was very unfriendly and not knowledgable. The restaurant was outdated and didn’t smell pleasant. The entire bench moved when I sat down. The chips were hard and tasted like Fritos. Everything we ordered was either a «no we can’t do that» or «that’s an extra charge». I can’t even give this a fair review because we cancelled our order and walked out.

I’ve been enjoying Señor Manuel’s for years, and I’ve always been happy with my choice! Food is consistently good, and always filling! Margs have been great when I’ve partaken as well. You don’t certainly don’t last 45 years in Colorado Springs unless you are doing something right. And they are!

Chips are extremely salty. But well made if you like really salty chips. Food was decent as well as the service.

Came here after a suggestion from a Mexican-American coworker. She is from California, so maybe she has a different view on what good tex-mex should taste like. Anyhow, me and my ‘true mexican’ friend have been searching for a good Tex-Mex place as well as an original Mexican place. Our quest is still ongoing. This place is neither! :( Sadly. The portions are very large and the food is not bad, it’s just meh. It’s not exciting nor especially tasty or well plated. It looks and tastes very generic to us. The décor is pretty dated. They need a new coat of paint and some sprucing up. Our search continues…

I have been looking for good Mexican food in the Springs for a month. I’m from Texas and love Tex-Mex, but also enjoy New Mexico-style Mexican food and am willing to try everything. The mixed reviews here almost convinced me not to try Señor Manuel’s, but I was brave :) The location is a little off-putting — hard to turn into it, bumpy parking and not a friendly exterior, but inside was bright, colorful and clean. I got there just after opening at 11:00 a.m. and was greeted and seated immediately. My waitress was friendly and helpful. Based on other reviews, I decided to try the Chile Relleno which was available on their lunch menu for $ 6.95. I also asked for a small side of Green Chile since some folks had raved about it in their reviews.(I would have ordered one of their much-recommended margaritas, but 11 a.m. seemed too early!) I was brought a small bowl of chips and some salsa. As other reviewers have mentioned, the salsa is very thin, but it is also very tasty, reminding me of some salsas I’ve had in New Mexico: crushed red chiles and spices in a watery based — delicious! My lunch plate arrived, full to the brim with the chile relleno, beans and rice. The relleno had a nice fluffy batter covering and, best of all, the creamy cheese inside was melted but did not flow out and desert the pepper when I cut into it. The sauce over the relleno was a vegetarian red sauce and was a bit bland. The beans and rice were standard fare, but the melted cheese over the top of them(cheddar, not velveeta) added value. And the side of green chile was the best I’ve had in Colorado Springs. I will go back and next time I plan to have a margarita!
