This place is great! Food is always awesome service is fast. People are friendly. I have it only a four star review because of the restroom. They have a piece of string to flush the toilet. I understand things break, but a toilet is on of the least expensive things to fix, especially the flusher handle and chain. There is a lowes within walking distance, in my opinion this isn’t something to put off.

This was just awful! We had fajitas, and this is what resulted: the meat was not fresh or hot; it had been pre-cooked and stored until ordered. The chicken was Grade C quality, with lots of weird bitey bits in it, grey spongey portions, and those«nubbins» of fat and cartilage that everyone else trims off. And grilled to a crisp on the outside, but with visible red blood areas in the grey white meat inside. Seriously. They claimed they had given me shredded cheese(which I ordered), but what we got was the tiniest garnish of cheese you can dole out in a Tinkerbell-sized pinch. When I told them I needed more, they argued that they had already given it to me, and that if I wanted more it could be added on as another side charge. Sour cream is a thimble-sized plastic container. The fajitas come with a few slimy onions and no peppers; onions are apparently taken out of a tub full of pre-cut onion strips that have long ago given up on flavor or hope. The beans you get are seriously dreadful; easily a prison-quality soggy, not-fresh swamp of almost-bean-flavored food cysts.(Am I being sufficiently descriptive? Because every word of this is spot-on). I like the idea of a salsa bar; that was the one likable part of this meal, because I could choose enough salsas and jalapeños and cilantro to disguise the rest of the flavors. FWIW, the counter staff was very friendly(except when trying to refuse my request for the quantity of shredded cheese I had actually ordered. For some reason, I can’t let that go.), and the Mountain Dew from the fountain was excellent. I swear, this place must subside on the income from naïve first-timers like myself who wander in, like a fly into a venus flytrap(speaking of flies… oh, nevermind. You don’t want to know). I can’t imagine anyone experiencing this and intentionally choosing to subject themselves to it again. This is the«Twilight» of Mexican restaurants: a poor, stale, bland imitation of the real thing that most people have the sense to avoid, but for some reason enough people sample it and think they have to consume more to the point that it becomes successful.

The food is terrible. Chipotle is like a 5 star restaurant compared to this one. Sorry, but everything lacked flavor not to mention the portions weren’t precise. My husbands taco was terrible, the beef lacked flavor. The guacamole was gross. The churros were okay, but not warm — which you would honestly expect. They PROBABLY would’ve tasted better had they been warm. To be honest, Taco Bell would’ve been a better option. We spent $ 30 that we won’t get back and to be honest not one dollar was worth it. The meals don’t come with drinks, which is an additional cost. Don’t believe their lunch special, there is nothing special about the food, and there’s no deal. Bottom line, the employees are friendly but it’s still not enough for how bad the food is. Please read the other reviews, and look for a better place to eat at.

I love La Casita. I could live on just their tortillas and salsa. Always good food here, very fresh(which Mexican really should be). Highly recommended.

1. order came up in 30 seconds to one minute after I placed order. 2. nothing, no pans, no food, on stove tops at 7:30pm on Thursday night. 3. I didn’t hear a microwave bell, but it must be under counter out of view. food was lukewarm. 4. worst Chile relleno, rice and salad I’ve ever had in my 60 years. worst Mexican food i’ve ever had. 5. I was hungry so I ate it and I wish I hadn’t. I don’t feel sick yet but I hope this food is out of my body soon. 6. I’m embarrassed for the Mexican woman who assembled the plate. she just plopped the plate up on the counter with no care, no love, no pride in the food. I guarantee you she would never serve this to her family here or in Mexico. 7. why doesn’t la casita make food to order and take pride in their food like their ads say? Food is just assembled now. 8. for authentic Mexican food I’m glad to wait for it to be cooked and served with love and pride by a real cook.

I really did not enjoy dining here. When I walked in the place smelt of grease, and a few flies buzzed around. The place did not look very welcoming. The tables and chairs we’re mismatched and uncoordinated. I personally thought that the food wasn’t very swell either. I had the cheese enchiladas, and they were tasteless and greasy. Although, the tortillas we’re good. Overall, not the greatest Mexican food joint.

The food is here horrible. I really don’t want to waste my time writing about it. I went because a coworker wanted to go, I’ve never been and I hear Mexican, so I’m in. I ordered the enchilada sampler. One cheese, one beef, one chicken. Or really: one block of cheese, one unseasoned beef with onions and one heavily stewed chicken with tomato sauce. All were covered in this unflavored sauce. I topped them all with onions, cilantro and salsa so I could taste something. The waitstaff was nice though. I’ll stop there.

They have the best breakfast burritos in town! Very yummy tortillas and fresh salsa.

My favorite place to go on lunch break!!! Pretty much everything here is fresh and homemade, and the price is unbeatable! Their bean burritos are actually cheaper than Taco Smell, and the condiment bar is awesome. Been going to La Casita for over 15 years and have never gotten sick or had a bad experience. Definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant!

I prefer the one on 8th St. The quality is better. I went there two days ago and the burrito wasn’t even rolled, the tortilla tasted stale, the drive thru lady seemed inconvenienced when I requested salsa since she didn’t ask and Lastly, but most importantly, they ran my $ 3.53 transaction OVER130 times on my debit card!!! It was the worst $ 500 burrito I have ever had!

WORSTWORSTWORST restaurant experience I believe that I have ever had. Firstly, I’m not a huge proponent of these fast foody type places as it is(minus chipotle — you’ll always have my heart!!) Anyway, a buddy talked me into trying it out this morning and yeah, the tortillas are amazing aren’t they? Well, after paying fifteen something dollars overall for a drink, shrimp fajitas and a relleno smothered in green chile, I received my food with no green chile. I informed the manager and he flatly told me «that’s a $ 1.29 extra». The dude hates his job I’m sure, he sure as hell seemed like it. But sorry brother, this is America. Switch it up if you want to be an asshole and let everybody know how bad it sucks to be the manager at La Casita… I’m jumping ahead of myself. The reason I have such disdain for the guy is simply because, after biting into my crispy, mozzarella stick-like relleno, I realized just how terrible both the relleno and green chile were… The shrimp«fajitas» were not fajitas, they were SIX pieces of shrimp, atop an ugly bed of lettuce scattered tomatoes and some sort of bean concoction. The shrimp were undercooked and the THREE tortillas I received with it — why the hell would I need three tortillas for six shrimp? They all were broken in the middle. This was a LOL experience. The manager did not care to hear my complaint. He said he could replace what I did not like but refused to give me my money back. Literally turned and walked away in the middle of my complaint. Okay buddy, so you really want to act like an asshole and not refund me money on my terrible food experience with y’all? I hope you miss out on everybody who reads what an incompetent twit you really are. I guess that’s what you get for ordering something slightly simple at a place with complete incompetence representing the management staff. One cudo for them, the horchata was awesome but I will NEVERPATRON this restaurant again.

Wonderful tortillas, great value on the breakfast«burritos». The spicier sauces were great but the pico was pretty mild. The counter staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for a quick breakfast.

I ordered the Huevos Rancheros for breakfast and it was inedible. I’m talking absolutely nasty tasting, like it contained something not intended to be in the meal. Yuck! Nasty! It should be called Heaved Rancheros on their menu. I hope the health department inspects this place.

FAVORITEFAVORITEFAVORITE taco place in Colorado Springs. Every time I visit home I make a pilgrimage here as soon as possible, sometimes moments after leaving the airport. Their bean and cheese burritos are my jam. The tortillas are just out of this world. I have never found a better tortilla than this. They just MAKE the tacos and burritos. The salsas are also really incredible. I’ve never been able to live down the time that I went through the drive through with my family and the employee asked«which salsa?» and I responded«ALLOFTHEM.» Everything here is great and so cheap! They also seem to have insane margarita deals sometimes. I recommend the bean and cheese burritos, churros, sopapillas, guacamole tacos, tostadas, margaritas, horchata, and plates with beans and rice. This and the 8th street location are the ones I frequent the most but they’re all good. GOHERENOW

I’ve been a La Casita regular since they opened their first location on South Nevada Ave.(now located on North Nevada Ave.) 25 years ago. No expensive frills here. Whenever I take a guest for the first time, I always recommend the #2 burrito plate, stuffed with chicken, and smothered in their homemade green chili. It’s a favorite! Also love the fresh, homemade salsas and tortillas. And, their breakfast burritos are a hit! All at a price that is very family friendly.

La Casita is not what I expected. I expected the run-of-the-mill fast food Mexican food. It was fast, but it wasn’t run-of-the-mill. It was very good. This was our first time to visit and I tend to go overboard ordering on my first visit. We ordered several entrees and were not disappointed with any of them. The tamales may have been the highlight of the bunch. I recommend them. The cheese enchilada was also quite nice. Although I would never characterize it as truly authentic, the flour tortillas were about as close as you can get from a drive-through establishment. My wife doesn’t even like flour tortillas and commented on how good they were. We will go back to La Casita. It isn’t the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, but it is near the top of the list of quick serve ethnic food. A solid performer.

La Casita was ok. The staff definitely was not too excited to see us walk through the door. The employee at the counter seemed more annoyed with us placing an order than interested in helping us. The churros were not very good. They were crusty, hard, and cold. I would not order them again. Kelly agreed. Dan loved them. The churros at Monica’s Taco Shop are much better. The sopapillas were pretty good. Maybe that is because they made them fresh and they were warm and soft. Some were lacking sugar though, so that was a bit disappointing. Dipping them in honey helped.

Ambiance: Attractive«cantina-inspired» place. Counter service. You are given a number, and then pick up your food from outside the kitchen. They also have a drive-thru window. If dining in, you have three options, inside seating, outdoor covered patio area, and outdoor patio. There is also a salsa/condiment bar. Service: Friendly and prompt. Food: There is only one redeeming factor about their food: they have pretty decent homemade flour tortillas. Other than that, their food quality is below that of Taco Bell and Del Taco(and that is saying a lot.) They use ground beef in their tacos, which has absolutely no flavor or seasoning, just fried up ground beef in a skillet. The taco shells are hard and store bought right out of a package. The only condiments added to your taco are pre-shredded lettuce from a bag, and processed american-style yellow cheese, also straight from the grocery store bag. Their enchiladas have the same processed cheese, with a terrible(almost inedible) red sauce from a can. The beans and rice are totally unremarkable. I last visited La Casita six years ago, and remember not liking it, but couldn’t remember why. Wanted to give them another chance, and be very objective so i could write a review. I can honestly say that this is the worse Mexican joint in town(and there are many, many others that have come close to this honor, so this is really quite a dubious distinction). You will be better off with Taco Bell or Del Taco(or better yet, for barely a dollar or two more, find a better sit-down Mexican place in town).
