Good food. Busy. Friendly staff. Only saw two customers waiting for a table because of chatty customers who were finished with thier meal but hadn’t left yet. The hamburgers are made as they are ordered. Nothing premade in this Café. I would recommend for a fair price, quick service lunch stop when you don’t know what you might like. Thier menu is extensive although the Café is cozy. You won’t be disappointed to try them and will find yourself returning to sample more of thier menu.

Lived in Colorado Springs for 17 years and finally have a favorite restaurant. Best food I’ve eaten since I lived in Chicago. Ricky really knows his stuff. the Slopper is on my short list of best things I have eaten in my life!

I live close to this place and rarely visit, as I stay away from red meat for the most part, but every time I go I get two double sliders with cheese, it’s the perfect amount of greasy burger with grilled onions to satisfy my junk food craving. Not only are they amazing, but as cheap as a burger from burger king right across the street, and well worth the extra five minutes of wait. The décor is dorky, and the menus look like they used the word art program from 1999, but that kind of brings attention to the quality of the food. The location has turned over frequently even when the food was good, because it’s hidden in an easily overlooked shoppette, but the oh so tasty food overpowers everything rock city has going against it. I hope they stay in business as long as they wish.

If you’re looking for a great burger, which is what my gal and I both ordered, you will not be disappointed. This hole-in-the-wall restaurant gives new meaning to the phrase«unassuming» — just six tables in a fairly small space in a nondescript shoppette at the corner of Union and Boulder. Don’t let the look fool you, as the quality of the food was excellent. The service was friendly, too. She ordered a burger topped with pepperjack cheese, and fries, and I ordered the slopper, figuring that, having lived in Pueblo, arguably the birthplace of the grotesquely named creation, for 13 years, yet never partaking of the burger in its hometown, it was about time I tried one. Holy cow, what a great meal! As anyone who has seen me knows, there aren’t many meals I don’t finish, but this was more than I could polish off in one sitting. Imagine a hefty burger on a quality bun, served open-face, smothered in green chile, jalapenos, bacon, cheese and two over-easy eggs. That, my friends, is a slopper. It was delicious! And the fries were excellent as well — skin-on, thin cut and lightly seasoned, with the perfect amount of crunch. Our only real issue was that her burger, although ordered well done, was a little pink, but not enough to send back or complain about. Mine was cooked through and through. The ingredients to top her burger looked and tasted first-rate. I considered giving the place four stars, only because this was our first(but not last) visit and I’d rather try more dishes before giving a perfect score, but the burgers were good enough to pull the trigger and peg the star meter. Can’t wait to try other dishes for lunch, and I’m really looking forward to stopping by sometime for breakfast.

Rock City Café is a quaint, friendly café with an informal atmosphere and friendly owners who ensure that you will have a great breakfast or lunch. Also on the menu is a very tasty green chili. The food is exceptional and the service is top notch. I would liken it to the café version of the old sitcom«Cheers».
