Totally half assed. I ordered online from this place about 6 months ago — my order never showed up, and I had to call them to figure out where it was. 2 hours later, my food finally shows up. I made the mistake of trying to order online from them again today because my gf’s daughter likes them. This time my order got lost again, and I had to call them multiple times. 2 hours later, and no one knows where my food is. VERY frustrating. The food is fine(not that hard to make pitas), but the customer service sucks. It is always slow, orders online get screwed up. Go to the Jimmy Johns, Schlotzsky’s, Subway or just about any of the other dozens of options along Garden of the Gods if you want a sandwich. DONOT order online from these people. It WILL get lost. BTW, the Pita Pit downtown is great — this one though sucks, and needs to figure out how to not screw everything up. I will not be giving them my business anymore.

I don’t know what everyone else’s problem with this place is. Then again all I’ve ever ordered is the double-meat Gyro with Baba, Feta, Black Olives, Cucumbers, Spinach and a Tzatzik sauce. And it’s so good and filling, it makes my afternoons a blur of «wow that was a good gyro» comments. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and they have plenty of tables and a high top window bar for eating in-house. What’s the problem? I don’t have anything bad to say about this place.

We have Pita Pit in California and at one time it was a fave so I’ve been quite a few times. I was with my sister picking up flowers at Bella Studios next door and she had to get some because she’s the one who introduced me to the Pit and now she’s in Connecticut where they are Pit was around 1:30 or 2 on the Saturday after Thanksgiving so I was down for some PP. Same as LA, except they don’t seem to be charging extra anymore for hummus, avocado or wheat pitas. Awesome! Unfortunately this place has a long ways to go. There were only 2 employees working and they moved very slowly. There were a few people waiting to make their pitas in front of us. It took us about 20 minutes to get our food. In LA I’ve had 10 people in front of me and still gotten my food in 10 minutes. The food was tasty when we finally got it, but for the place being as quiet as it was our food took way too long!

Like many reviews, it’s pretty much a Subway with pitas! That makes it better than Subway to me! Got the dagwood for a sample of all the meats. It came with turkey, ham and prime rib. I decided to go wacky and got it with spinach, pineapple, roasted red peppers, green peppers, and tomato. I got that covered in habanero mango sauce. Drove back to the hotel to eat it and expected something hot and tangy but it was just a little mango-y and not spicy at all. Guess they candle the heat up here in Colorado.

So, we had our food in hand by 7PM. We walked into the little dining area to eat it, and were immediately thrown out«Oh, sorry, the dining area is already closed». The restaurant closes at 8. They kicked us out at 7. Apparently, this has been their policy for months now. We got a full refund and would never, ever, ever go back. They even referred to us being there«at the last minute». An hour before closing? Please. Avoid this place like the plague.

I think the fact that they give out free drinks for students helped bump this rating a little, but overall Pita Pit is pretty OK. They have a ton of different pita sandwhiches and a gyro to choose from, but nothing is really stand-out awesome. Solid lunch place for a decent price, but I wouldn’t go here too terribly often. Price for a pita sandwhich is around $ 6, so lunch for under $ 7 which isn’t bad.

I’ve eaten here about five times. Like Subway, but with pita’s.. . it’s the best way I can think to explain Pita Pit. Order and pay at the counter, saunter down a ways and pick out what you’d like on your pita. Badda boom, badda bing. The hummus and tzatziki were a-ok, nothing exceptional. The food is fresh, filling and affordable. The service was fine. I don’t expect much from a fast food chain.. . so I wasn’t disappointed.

Food was fast and okay. Like a subway but a pita instead of a sandwich. I was kind of disappointed at the small selection, but similar to subway, they make everything right there for you as you pick out«toppings».

Its Subway in a wrap(pita) rather than a sandwich. Whe we were there, they informed us they ran out of feta cheese(at a Greek place). The stoned guy making our sandwich/pita asked us on 3 different occasions what kind of cheese we wanted. We got back to the hotel… no cheese on the sandwiches. Your average teenager sandwich artist(Subway kid rejoice in truth!) who just wants to go home and play xbox until he develops FTS and dies of a blood clot works here, so don’t expect much.

Ambiance: Local chain pita joint. Order at counter, pay, then move to other end of counter and tell the waitperson what condiments /sauces/etc you want in your pita. Small dining area in an area off to the side of the main grill. A little dumpy, in an aging strip mall. Service: Not so great. Not rude, but the waitstaff is generally in their mid to late 20s, but act like teenagers at a fast food restaurant. Not very professional and not very personable. Gal from behind the counter kept yelling at her friends who came in, talking about her cigarette addiction. Oh well … Food: Kind of reminds me of a slightly better version of Subway, substituting pitas for french rolls. Most of the menu is American, and very little Mediterranean. I ordered a gyros. The meat was kind of a lunchmeat variety. It tasted all right, but nothing special. They asked if I wanted cheese on my gyros. Choice or processed American, Cheddar or Swiss. Obviously, I passed. Besides their yogurt sauce, they have a myriad of Americanized sauces, that are basically salad dressings(Ranch, Honey Mustard, etc.) I ordered my gyros with hummus(95 cents extra) that was ok. Overall, I have never been a fan of any eating establishment with the word«pit» in its name.(Burger Pit, BBQ Pit, etc). Though not terrible, we have some better, decent places in Co Springs for gyros, falafell, hummus, etc. This place is fair at best.

I love this place. It is fantastic for lunch, dinner, and the amazing late night snack. The fixin’s are always fresh. If you get a chance try yours with a little Hummus or Baba Ganouj. My fav is the double-meat Gyro with Baba, Feta, Black Olives, Cucumbers, Spinach and a little Tzatziki. I hope you are hungry or this place will put the hurtin on you as it’s too good to stop.

Okay, so, I just started working in Colorado Springs. I live in San Francisco, but fly out at 6am Monday morning to Denver, then drive 90 minutes to Colorado Springs to get to work by 12:30 — 1:00ish. Anyway, my awful commute is beside the point. The guys I started working with seem to LOVE this place, they go there 2 – 3 times a week, and it’s part of the Monday commute. I’ve gotta say, though, so far, I do not share their love of warm meat inside a pita. To be fair, I like my sandwiches(and the like) quite bare: turkey, mustard, occaisionally cheese, and whatever bread or bread-like substitute is available. On these grounds, I’d much prefer simply heading over to subway. I’ve been told I have to try the hummus, so stay tuned for a *potential* review edit.
