Unless you are having a late night drunken escapade that must include falafal, avoid this place.

I’ve been here twice and I am not sure who owns Pita Pit or if they are just a smaller private operation. To sum it all up, this place has a subway feel(you pick your toppings and they put them on right in front of you), but they do have a grill and they cook the meats right in front of you, provided you get a warm pita. They have wheat and white pita options. It is fast and cheap. The water is from the tap, which is uncommon. They are never dead, from my couple of experiences. The staff is always really cool and friendly. Glad that my girlfriend turned me on to this place because it is great!

As we try to est better and eat«real food», we have had to make better quick food choices. This is a favorite of our. Quick, easy and healthy!

What is a the rave about? The food was tasteless, frozen and sparse. For a savings of 2 dollars go down the block and getting Gyro that actually tastes like a Gyro. A waste of my money.

The other day was the first time there, being in the Hospitality of course the service is on the top of my list and the people working there were great, friendly and engaging especially when you are an older customer. Then the food was great and tasty, Thank you

I love Pita Pit. I first discovered it when I was living in Anchorage. Maybe slightly unfortunately for this location, I’m comparing this place to the one there. The staff there were incredibly friendly and basically made you feel like you were their best friend and #1 priority as soon as you walked in the door. I don’t have any problems with the employees here, but it’s not quite the same. I’ve been in a few times and we’ve always been treated kindly and served promptly. The food is what you’d expect from Pita Pit; very good, several notches above Subway, and much healthier than Jimmy John’s. Overall, I think three stars is about the standard for this type of establishment. I’d give it 3.5 if I could because I think it’s higher caliber than others like it(as mentioned above). The food is good, and we come often because we appreciate the speed, freshness, price, and taste. Definitely recommend for a quick, fresh, healthy meal.

It’s healthy(depending on what you order, they have nutritional facts readily available) and it’s delicious. Quick and easy, perfect for lunch time. Like Subway but with delicious pitas instead of boring subs.

This is a standard counter service sandwich shop. I stopped in for the Gyro and my wife had the chicken club. Both were average. For me, the Tadzhik sauce was bland. They were very generous with the toppings however. The day I went in must have been a training day because the kitchen staff appeared mostly lost and confused. It’s in the heart of downtown in an older building. The place seemed clean enough though I didn’t check the bathrooms.

Quick stop for lunch. Not a bad place. It has that decent lunch seating. The homeless people meandering outside watching me eat weren’t a turn off at all… of course, the Pita personel can’t really help that. The bathroom wasn’t very clean. The staff was friendly but the pita was thrown together in a «I don’t know what I’m doing» sort of way. The gyro tasted good but the veggies seemed a little old. I noticed on my way out that they were bringing in boxes of fresh vegetables, so I think we might have come at the end of their supplies. Overall, wasn’t bad, wasn’t great either.

My husband loves the gyros from this little place. The chicken souvlaki is my usual. There are many fresh toppings to choose from for those of us who like all veggies. Yum. Just to note, they are usually slam packed at lunch but they staff accordingly so the wait isn’t terrible.

I’m not a huge pita fan, but stumbled across this place. I worry that primary and bacon, plain and it was pretty good. It was very filling and I am glad that I visited.

Went here for a gyro last night after the other gyro place down the street was closed. Eh. I wouldn’t get it again. The service was good and the people were really nice, but the food just wasn’t what I was looking for. The other place has way better gyros for a similar price, next time I’ll have to try something a little more their style. Hours are a plus as they are open late all the time, the food just never blows me away.

This was an okay experience. The food was nothing spectacular, but it wasn’t horrible either. However, if you’re going for a gyro spend the 20 extra minutes to head to Heart of Jerusalem in Manitou Springs for a REAL gyro.

Love it… Very good choices and its made fresh right there for you. I had the Buffalo Chicken Pita… and OHMYGOODNESS! It was sooooo good and plus you get all the toppings that you want on it. You will love the service. We went there on a Groupn just to check it out. IThey even gave us extra coupons to come back. We will definitely be going back and yes, I’m bringing friends. I love when places like this know how to treat their customers. It keeps us coming back!

I love this place because you can place your order online– AND they are open late. Their delivery staff are usually very friendly, their food is great. Don’t expect traditional mediterranean food to be served here.

I am giving this 3 stars, mainly for the concept and the fact that we need variety downtown. on to the review. Been here only once, so limited data. Experience was much like Joe T.‘s. I liked the fact that I could pick and choose, a la subway. The food was just ok. It wasn’t that flavorful and seemed a little flat. Not unfresh, just plain. If I am going to do this style, I will head over to the Med café. Much better food, much tastier… and not a chain.

Open late, and the people behind the counter are so used to dealing with drunken idiots trying to get food that you can easily order food with a simple mixture of grunts and hand gestures and still be happy with what you get. Atmosphere-wise there isn’t much to say; it’s clean and rather sterile, with not much that really stands out. This is is pretty much the same as the food — the Mediterranean equivalent of vanilla ice-cream. Not exciting, nothing too interesting, but still pretty good in a pinch. Recommend late at night when there isn’t too much else open; otherwise, with all the other Mediterranean places near by, I’d pass it up.

The Pita Pit serves… Pitas. And they’re all good. I haven’t found a pita yet that I don’t like. I think the Chicken Souvlaki is the best, personally. What’s nice is they’re open SUPER late. So when you’re working late downtown and need a bite on your way home(as has happened to me many times), drop by the Pita Pit. Before you go, see if you can get some coupons first – their coupons are usually really good.(i.e. «Free pita. No purchase required.»)

I’m giving Pita Pit 4 stars only because they are one of the few places in downtown Colorado Springs that’s open late to eat. They are open until after midnight(2am I think) most nights. Not the best priced, but like I said, you’d be hard pressed to find anything else open. Most pitas run about $ 6. Service is typically very quick. And my personal fave is the Dagwood!
