Food was excellent and customer service was warm and welcoming!!! I had the egg salad and bacon. The eggs were sweet and blended perfectly with the fresh tomatoes and bacon.

Okay place with rural town atmosphere. Food is home style and good. Waiter threw my food, and did’t care to ask how my food was. I got a feeling there some ethnicities they don’t care for here. Will not be bothering them again.

The best sandwich in Colorado Springs is located here: the spicy cucumber. You’ll pay a bit more money for a lot of quality! Also be sure to try their homemade pie, every flavor is good i tried them all. Easily accessible if you have children

Food is fine, quite good actually. However, part of the appeal of a diner is able to get some work done while you relax there. They no longer have free wifi and their outlets aren’t accessible for charging your laptop. Lots of local shops within blocks that offer both.

Bob and Virginia make the best sandwiches. They serve crinkle cut fries, which always makes me feel like a kid again. If they have hello dolly bars, I usually eat one and then do the walk of shame back to work after my lunch break.

Talk about having a monopoly on hungry people in and around the courthouse, especially at lunch. The line easily goes beyond the door most weekdays. The menu is reliable and accessible, filled with sandwiches, burgers, big salads and soup. Green chili is nearly always available. My favorite sandwich is the Downtown which has turkey and grilled onions on grilled bread. There are also a few vegetarian options available. Sides include chips, macaroni salad and fries. While you may not want dessert with lunch, Virginia makes her own pies daily and they are worth trying, especially the coconut cream pie. She could win a contest with her pies. Don’t bother asking for substitutions. They’re very hesitant to accommodate changes and rather than work them in, they’ll just charge way extra. Pricing is already high for sandwiches and chips, but because they dominate the courthouse market they can pretty much charge whatever they want and people will be forced to pay it. Pretty baller compared to the grandma’s house vibe you get when you walk in.

First time here and we definitely enjoyed the heat coming from the jalapeño ranch. I had the San Diego roast beef on sourdough… so delicious! My fiancé loved his Kickin burger… it was messy due to the Kickin ranch slathered all over it… but totally worth it. The fries are nothing to mention but we will be back for that saucy sauce!

The Corner Café has been a regular lunch destination for me since I began my career at the Courthouse across the street. For the past 2 years I have tried a lot of items on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. My go to menu item is the Ragin’ Cajun Burger and I substitute the traditional hamburger patty for grilled chicken breast instead. With this particular burger it is my preference but, you can’t go wrong either way. The patty is seasoned with their secret Cajun spices and topped with pepper-jack cheese, chipotle mayo, lettuce & tomato. This burger will make your mouth water just staring at it! Besides hamburgers they have quite the choice of salads and sandwiches which are all delicious and fresh made. If you find yourself hungry and in downtown Colorado Springs, I would suggest a trip to the Corner Café!

This is the very picture perfect example of a locally owned café. Kitsch on the walls, wooden chairs, pictures of locals, a coffee table with self-serve cutlery and creams. I don’t know why but I definitely enjoy the novelty of it. Don’t expect anything terribly wonderful and avant garde about this place ’cause they serve really good old fashioned food. I dig the Jesse’s breakfast burrito and it holds it own against the breakfast place just blocks away known for their burritos as well. The plate was hot, the sausage wasn’t greasy and the green chile sauce was plentiful. It wasn’t as big as the other place and that was pretty great ’cause I can only eat so much for breakfast. The green chile was a bit on the spicy side but it eliminated the need for hot sauce as well. I’ve only been here for breakfast and they’re usually not too crowded, except when the court stragglers come in. And you’ve gotta make room for cookies if they’ve got them available or whatever great homemade treats they’re offering that day. Nothing beats homemade goodies after a good meal.

I learned about this place from Unilocal. It certainly is a locally owned and operated business. The owner(who was working the counter) was very kind. I want you all to know that the menu in Unilocal is incorrect. Sadly, I found this out when I ordered the Shrimp dinner that does not exist. Also the prices are highly incorrect. As I waited for my food I used the ladies room which was very cold… and I mean cold… I returned to my table to wait for my meal. I cheated and had a cookie before lunch. Oh my goodness!!! The cookies are heaven. So delicious and very freshly made. The food was so good. The hamburger was made fresh, it was so juicy, and slightly sloppy. The fries were also really done well. I recommend this place!

If you like good food, you will like this place. We got simple sandwiches. Hard to mess up, but they were good. What really set me over the top was the pork green chili. Excellent. Spicy. I would highly recommend it. Also, the pie. Excellent cream pies. I will go back and try other things. I’ve heard wonderful things and can only imagine that it’s all great.

Corner Café has been one of my favorite go to restaurants in the Springs. This spot is located just south of the Courthouse downtown. A lot of people from the courthouse come over to eat and that can really determine how busy it is at the diner. Currently they are only open for breakfast and lunch Monday thru Friday. In the past they have flirted with being open in weekends. I’ve been here 10 – 15 times and have experimented with the menu and their specials. This time I went with a special; grilled cheese sandwich on potato rosemary bread. Very good. I almost never buy a cheese sandwich when I go out to eat, but at corner café I do! I usually get fries with the meal but my wife always gets the macaroni salad and really likes it. This is one slightly disappointing aspect to their food, the fries are store bought and don’t taste that good. If they had a better fry, I might never leave. If your looking for something on the menu, you can’t go wrong with a burger and I love the Bird Dog Grill. The owner/chef Bob is awesome. So friendly and personable. When he is out and about the eating experience is that much better. Virginia, his wife, can come off as cold, but she makes up for it with her homemade treats. The pies are delicious! If you haven’t eaten here… Do it… Now!

Its great to think you know a city after years and still stumble across unique/great food places. Corner café immediately has a great ‘non-sit down’ brunch system. Sandwiches were great too. Only comment is that if you are trying to go for a nice/unique/cozy/antique feel, you might not want a ginormous soda fountain as the first thing u see in the place

First time here for a quick lunch downtown with Shannon, place looks like your grandma’s living room but, friendly service and the burgers are all homemade! And they have sweet tea!!! This place will also hold a special place in my heart.

Always good food and reasonably priced. You have to grab a menu from the front counter to make your selection before you order and if you don’t know how that works then you hold up the line once you get to the counter. Only one size fountain drink. If you go during the week avoid the 11:30 — 12:30 lunch rush.

With three kids under 6, I don’t go to restaurants often. Usually, it’s make a phone order, go pick it up. So, I can’t talk much about the ambiance or the décor of this place, but I can speak to what’s important: The food. I ordered their Jesse’s breakfast burrito, smothered in chili. Husband got«Bob’s Mess» and I got my kids Pancakes, eggs and bacon. Burrito: Delicious. Packed with sausage(you have your choice of meats), potatoes, cheese and eggs. The chili was spicy and packed with meat, unlike a lot of green chili I’ve seen. Oh, and just know, this thing is huge. Gave me two breakfasts, easy. Bob’s Mess: It’s just that, a complete mess, but a delicious one. Tons of meat, eggs, cheese and hash browns all smothered in gravy. My husband’s generally a picky eater, but he was very pleased with this. Really though, the thing that had me most impressed was the pancakes. I ordered a half stack for my kids, thinking that would be enough for them. It was more than enough. These pancakes were as big as my head! And fluffy, oh my goodness were they fluffy. They were so good that I had to steal some. One other thing I’d like to note is the staff. As I said, I got a to go order, so there wasn’t much they could do to win me over in the short time I was there, but they did it. The girl at the cash register asked me «How’s your day going?» It seems small and simple, but it was genuine,

Went based on the Unilocal reviews; were heading up to Denver from a weekend in Cascade and wanted something decent and close to I25. The counter setup and ordering situation is a little strange(it makes much more sense for lunch rush, but when there’s 4 people in there on a Sunday morning it wouldn’t kill to hop to a couple tables and take orders. I kept it simple and ordered the French toast, wife got the Navajo breakfast sandwich. Shortly after I ordered, a gentleman came up from the kitchen, nice as all getout, and asked who’d ordered the French toast, and if he could take some liberties with it. I said sure, and he wound up swapping the bread with some thicker stuff he had in the back and more seasoning. It was awesome. Wife’s sandwich was also incredible. Like the reviews state, basic food, done right, and(the back staff anyway) were friendly as could be. Definitely would go back.

oh corner café, where have you been? Actually, where have I been. I work literally a block from this place and have never tried it in 8 years. That has been remedied! The place screams down home, local diner. Its equal parts tacky and homey. The food is diner food. no haute cuisine here. The sandwich I had, appropriately called«Trailer Trash» was a chicken fried steak, sausage gravy, cheese and a fried egg on a bun. My kind of sandwich, so what does that say about me? You order at the counter and they bring it to you. People were friendly and helpful. It wasn’t too busy despite it being lunch hour. On a nice day, you can watch the characters hanging out across the street waiting for their court dates.
