I had heard good things about this place and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I found it off Filmore while driving south on I25-easy to get to and easy to get out. I went through the drive through-had a hard time deciding what to get. Finally went with the number 6-a cheese enchilada and burrito(didn’t know what kind of burrito until I got home) and rice and beans. Ordered a side of guacamole too. Got home and the presentation looked nice-the smell was more than nice. I thought the burrito was beam and cheese but I was pleasantly surprised to see it was a marinated shredded beef. Everything was very good with the exception of the salsa and guacamole, but I’m particular on those and don’t follow the norm. Everything was better than I thought it would be for the price. It was 8 dollars and worth every penny. Next time I will try the carne asada.

As a soldier I used to go here at least twice a week during my first two years stationed at Fort Carson. My friends and I would go here for one thing, the Super Burrito with carne asada. Get it. It’s amazing. Good luck eating the whole thing in one sitting.

I know some people have a thing for ‘cheap’ taco places and holes in the wall, but for me, this one just failed to connect. This is a medium sized place that you order first then sit down and then get your food when it’s ready. There’s a self service fountain drink machine and most of the normal mexican food options and combos on the menu. However, most of the food was quite bland. everything from the beans to cheese and chips that I got on the side. While the amount of food was good, I’d rather have a partly full belly of good food rather than a very full belly of mediocre food. I’ve since eating there had to edit my review from 3 stars down to 1. This is because most of my time since eating there has been spent in the bathroom, miserable, and questioning my life and eating choices. I will now avoid that place like the apparent plague that it is and recommend you do the same.

I was very impressed with the lunch I had at Monica’s Taco Shop. I ordered both the cheese and the shredded beef enchiladas and was not disappointed. The service was quick, the portions were good, the taste was authentic and the price was fantastic. The only negative thing I can say about Monica’s Taco Shop is that it is in a shady part of town.
