This place was great! I know it’s kind of «touristy» thing to do, but the food and service was excellent! Their patio is very dog friendly. They even brought him his own bowl of water. I had one of their schnitzel’s. It was so good. The spaetzle was really good too! The outdoor eating area is beautiful. It’s like a little oasis out there. I was visiting out of town and I seriously considered eating there more than once. I would drive back to CO Springs from Dallas just to eat here again!

I wasn’t too familiar with German cuisine before I came to this restaurant. I tell people after the 1st time being here that they have the best desserts in the Springs(Marigolds is a close 2nd). I have found out that I love German food and this place is authentic and has a great ambiance. They have a guy coming around serenading tables and the food is so very good. Everything I have had has been great so I can’t recommend what to get. It was my birthday when I went and I got a free strudel with whip cream and it was made there and amazing. Also had german chocolate cake and black forest cake at the table and I can’t believe how tasty they were. Neat part of town now that the school brewery(Bristol-Ivy WIld) is close.

Pretty darn authentic. The German salads are fresh and fully loaded. The spätzle is yummy and of course there is a great beer selection. There is also a great kids menu!

Cute décor and ambiance added to by the wandering musicians. Big kaiser rolls await you on the table. We didn’t try them though, opting for the pretzel appetizer. Pretzel was cold — not room temperature, but actually cold in places, making me believe it was previously frozen. It wasn’t anything special and had me a little nervous, but fortunately was the low of the meal. Mixed salad was different and yummy — green beans, potato salad, cucumbers, and cabbage. We both had the smaller portion of the rahmschnitzel. Perfectly prepared — not too salty, breading still crisp, meat tender. Rounded off the evening with black forest tort and German chocolate tort — both yummy. Again though — were a bit too cold and would have tasted better at least at room temperature. Some hits, no complete misses — overall pleasant. A different option worth a go on occasion.

Food was fantastic! I lived in Germany for years and this place actually has been the closest I’ve ever been too! I live in cali and am here visiting family and they were very serious about going here.(I can see why!) I’ve tried places all over and my most recent one was in anaheim cali. It was just ok compared to here. Not only was our waitress from Germany where my father in law was in Germany and I she lived like 20 minutes away! Food was excellent, I look forward to returning every time we come to visit!!!

This is going to be our go to place when people come visit us(non Germans) The musicians chatted with us, and after we told them we just spent 7 years in Italy they played a Italian folk song for us that left me teary eyed! Oh and the food was the best I ever had outside of Germany! We all loved it and had a great time Not a 5 star because it is rather pricey

Came in tonight after driving 8 hours from Kansas City, MO. We are driving Pikes Peak tomorrow. We were tired and hungry– found this gem on Unilocal. We are so glad we came in. Our schnitzels were delicious, they had a great beer selection and our server, Bobby from the Bronx was awesome. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable on the menu. We sat outside in the beer garden, it was relaxing. We will definitely stop in again next time we are back in town!

Authentic great food, service was nice, can’t wait to go back to try something else! Husband who lived in Germany was delighted to find a place that could make a good schnitzel.

The food varies from great to acceptable, but you can’t beat the beautiful beer garden atmosphere. The bread pudding was to die for. A must go for us in the Springd.

I love this place! Everything about Edelweiss is incredible. This place is very authentically German. The patio is phenomenal!!! They have a diverse menu that should appeal to most everyone. I can’t avoid getting the bratwurst plate and substituting spätzle for the potatoes. The brats are the best I’ve ever had! The service is fantastic too!

Edelweiss is a wonderful restaurant located in probably the worst neighborhood in Colorado Springs. Park close if you can when you go. Otherwise you may have to brush off a number of sketchy peeps on your walk. Also, book ahead for your table. It’s a popular place for good reason. Their menu is wonderful. And I know of no place that can beat their German beer selection. We had their Jägerschnitzel and the Rahmschnitzel. Yes, I’ve had better while working and traveling in Germany, but you’ll find Edelweiss hard to beat for German cuisine here in North America.

I’m going to make this short and sweet. I love this place but I wish they would be kinder to their customers. The customer service needs some serious help!

The Girlfriend succumbed to my desire for German food. She cares not for pork. We saw the restaurant passing one day, and we were in the neighborhood. I don’t know German food, but I do know what tastes good, and this place was very good. We both ordered Das Weinerschnitzel, I had pork; she had veal. The complimentary bread was good; but seemed like it was a bit stale, maybe that’s just me. The salad was weird. I’ve never had cold potatoes and cold green beans on a salad; much less with a vinegar taste to them. There was also beets, lettuce, cabbage. I ate all of it; the sour/acid taste from the vinegar with the sweet of the beets was a refreshing taste. Considering the heavy food I was about to consume. It’s weird; but I loved it. The Weinerschnitzel came out and my god huge portions. I think a bit of salt in the breading would go along way; but still very tasty. The vegetables and potatoes were delicious as well. Very well cooked. Dessert. I’m left speechless. We ordered the German chocolate cake and our waitress informed us they were out, so we went with the black forest cake. To my surprise she came back with German Chocolate and said there was one piece left placed with the black forest cake. I inhaled this desert. My gosh the richness, the taste. Honestly it was better than my Grandmother’s cake. Just buy it. Our waitress was new; Kristen I believe her name was; thick German accent. Was very prompt and nice. We had trouble asking about certain things; namely due to the language barrier. I asked if I could keep the glass I was drinking my beer out of, and she went to find another waitress. They said I could and the cost would be 4.00. They even got me a new one and wrapped it for me. Overall(TLDR): Customer Service: 5 Stars Food: 5 Stars Dessert: a bajgillion stars. Big Shoutout to our Waitress. She was very good. Owner Keep her!

My husband and I dined here last night — we enjoy German cuisine and had always talked about checking out Edelweiss. We made a dinner reservation for 6:30 and so began an absolutely delightful dining experience. We were seated promptly in the cozy and charming dining room — passing a tantalizing pastry display along the way. Very quaint décor — knotty pine walls, brocade table cloths and soft lighting added to the relaxing and romantic atmosphere. Our wonderful server, Killian, greeted us warmly. He brought out our beverages and promptly returned to take our order. We both ordered the sauerbraten, and opted for spätzle rather than the dumplings as an accompaniment. Shortly after ordering, a basket of fluffy and flaky assorted rolls arrived, with chilled butter. We really enjoyed the dinner salad as well-piled high with crisp lettuce, marinated green beans, cabbage, German potato salad, onion, cucumber and a juicy tomato wedge. As we ate, an accordion player made her way through the dining rooms playing festive music– really nice. Then our entrees arrived. Tender marinated beef in a rich, savory-sweet gravy that burst with flavor. Authentic, and I recognized the subtle pickling spices that I use when making this from my family’s German recipe that’s been handed down for generations. Paired with tender tangy red cabbage and the buttery spätzle, it was perfection. We shared a slice of triple chocolate torte for dessert– very rich and decadent. It was delicious. The meal was excellent, as was the service. We can’t wait to come back!

What can I say, German cuisine is my favorite so this place was a must try and they hit it out of the park. The wife and I hit this place up without the kids and in hindsight, we should have brought them with. They had an accordion player dressed in lederhosen playing music in the dining room and the kids would have loved that. For the food, we loved it. I had the wiener schnitzel dinner with potatoes and the wife had a combo platter that had schnitzel, steak, cordon bleu and spaetzle. Thye were both spot on. The schnitzel was perfect and reminded me of our times in Germany. All the dinners are served with bread and salad and the dinner portions are really good sized. On a side note, when I was younger I would dog sit for an Austrian couple that lived in Italy. I would stay at their house when they went to Austria on vacation. They would always bring me back a homemade strudel. Strudel has a special place in my heart for that reason. I asked the waiter if their strudel was homemade and he confirmed it was. I bought a whole strudel for $ 28 to take home and enjoy. I assure you, it was perfection. Took my right back to my late teens and living in Italy and eationg homemade Austrian strudel. In summary, try the strudel.

This family-run German restaurant is a Colorado Springs staple and should be enjoyed by anyone in the area looking for a hearty meal. I’ve been here with small groups, large groups, parties in the downstairs bar area. They are able to accommodate many different styles and they do on a regular basis because this place is normally packed, even on weeknights. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the décor is unique for the area. There are many dining rooms, an outdoor patio eating area, and a basement that can double as a party space. Every room in the restaurant is enjoyable. When looking at the menu, it can be a little daunting. Don’t hesitate to ask the staff for help, or bring a German speaker with you. This will gain you some points with the staff and they may hook you up with some special service. The appetizer salad is served cold and gets the palate ready for some heavier entrees. I prefer to eat the Wienerschnitzel or the Jagerschnitzel. They are both extremely filling and around $ 10. They also go well with one of their many draught beers. Be careful what size you order as it may get you drunk. For dessert, they have an endless list of cakes and pies to choose from that are sure to quench anyone’s need for sweets. Overall, this restaurant is great. The staff are friendly, the food is top quality, and the restaurant has many different rooms to match the style of eating you are looking for. The parking lot can be a little treacherous as it fills up fast, but there is plenty of street parking in the area. I would highly recommend this German restaurant while in Colorado Springs.

Whenever we pass through Colorado Springs, my family and I stop by Edelweiss to nom on some delicious German food! Word has gotten out about this place because it was PACKED. Thank goodness we had a reservation, so we were seated right away. We enjoyed some nice live music from the two accordion players in the main dining room while we read the menu and figured out what we wanted. I typically order the wienerschnitzel, but this time around I went with the spiessbraten: the pork roast with red cabbage and spatzle. Before the main course arrived we were served an AMAZING plate of salads: green bean, cucumber, potato, and cabbage. Everything was delicious; I wish I could have had a second plate because I wanted to keep eating the delectably tangy cucumbers and the soft yet yummy green beans. But I finished off my plate and waited for my main course which was MASSIVE. I couldn’t finish it but I did my best. I really enjoyed the spatzle, but the red cabbage was cooked a bit too much so it had become very saucy. The pork had good flavor but some parts were a bit tough; I kind of wished I had ordered the wienerschnitzel because that is always five stars. Our waitress was very nice and attentive and she brought us a slice of cake after finding out it was my parents’ anniversary. The food, ambiance, attention to detail, and service is truly spot on here. Edelweiss is always a special treat and I definitely look forward to the next visit: D

We were told by the locals that this is one of the must visit place in Colorado Springs for dinner. The place was packed even on a weeknight. We barely parked at the last space in the overflow parking lot when we arrived. There were just a few minutes wait for the two of us. They used a cabin style décor with heavy German theme too. Obviously I have to get a beer at a German restaurant, and they have quite a selection of imported beers from Germany here. I got the Warsteiner Dunkel, since I am a dark brew guy, and it tasted quite nice. I wanted to try many things, so I got the Edelweiss Platte, which came with a salad on the side too. The salad was not quite a full German potato salad, but it did have a potato in it, which is not commonly found elsewhere. If you love meat, then you will like the Edelweiss Platte, it had some Jägerschnitzel, a big piece of Veal Cordon Bleu, and some Filet Madeira on it. The veal was probably my favorite, it was like an improved version of chicken fried steak with tenderer meat, and topped with melted cheese. Jägerschnitzel was made with pork, and it was quite rich and tasty. Filet Madeira was small piece of filet mignon wrapped in bacon then cooked with a special wine sauce, and it was quite amazing. The fried potato on the side was very good too. My only regret was not able to fit everything into my stomach that night since there was just way too much food. For someone that was exposed too much to the German cuisine, Edelweiss definitely gave me a good first time impression. Our service was excellent, and we had this lady with a German accent as our waitress that night. This was definitely the highlight spot for the week.
