I haven’t had the opportunity yet to eat in house. I’ve ordered out a couple times from work taking in orders from my coworkers, and the orders only keep growing. The jäger schnitzel with spaetzle is fantastic. Every time I sit down with this in front of me I only wish I could just curl up and take a nap afterwards. Unfortunately, I’m still at work and that’s frowned upon. A standard lunch is about $ 9 – 10 which is well worth it in my book. The staff always seems to be a little thin when I come in to pick up my order. Bless the woman’s heart that is running around for all the tables and providing the take out orders. I make sure to tip her.

Swooped up a to go lunch order of the rahm and jäger schnitzels and overall, pretty solid meals at a great price — about $ 16 total. Portions are hefty. Prices have gone up slightly from the images of the menu posted. Meat was tender and held up enough crispiness in their respective sauces, wasn’t greasy and pretty flavorful. Can’t say the same for the salad which came already(barely) dressed. I prefer dressing on the side when taking it to go so the lettuce and croutons don’t get soggy. I enjoyed the sides of spaetzel and potatoes. They were cooked well with a nice golden brown fry but still tender and creamy in the center. You also get enough gravy to smother your sides if you please. The cabbage offers a nice contrast of acidity and crunch to counter the fried meat. I thought it was kinda odd that I apparently got the last order of cabbage only an hour into the lunch service. Décor is pretty dated but it doesn’t seem to bother folks as the place was relatively busy for a weekday lunch.

First of all lets put aside the thrown in chairs, chipped banquet tables, mismatched flatware it is about the food! When we ordered; I ordered Rahm Schnitzel with a side of fries, they were out of fries, okay I took the fried potatoes(Brat Kartoffeln). My husband wanted the Schntzel Sandwich, sorry out of Bread, He asked about the Hawain Schnitzel, sorry no pineapple. So he ordered the Gypsy Schnitzel with a side of Reg Cabbage, sorry out of Red Cabbage, okay Fried potatoes it is. While we waited for our food we had time to look around the establishment. everything looked dusty, smudgy. We have been to many little Mom and Pops restaurants and actually support the family run restaurants, but hygiene is the most important thing when cooking for the public! And this place needs some serious cleaning(I wonder how they pass the health inspection)! The food arrived and sadly my Schnitzel was overcooked and the Rahm sauce was broken and not seasoned. My husbands Schnitzel came on a chipped plate, his Schnitzel was just okay, sauce also not seasoned with sliced red bell peppers that looked like and tasted like that they came out of a freezer bag. The side salad was sitting in a bowl of watered down dressing, the lettuce was partially brown, I was actually more sad and embarrassed than angry, I am German and have been living here for 20 years, it is so sad to see that the Owner either does not care or is not present to assure the quality of the food is up to par. How can you not have food items that are listed on your menu. It is one thing if it is sold out, but the waitress actually told us that the Chef has not been shopping??? If you are known for Schnitzel it better be a good Schnitzel and unfortunately it was not. I would have given this place 1 Star, but our waitress was very nice and apologetic for things that were not her fault and not under her control. On that remark i wish that Unilocal would have a different rating system. One for the food and another for the customer service to be all fair.

This place is fantastic! I’ve never been to Germany, I am not a schnitzel officianado, but this place has delicious schnitzel and spätzle. I live on the east side of town(near a competitor) but I will make the extra drive down here to eat schnitzle. Better prices and MUCH better tasting!!!

Excellent dishes. Primarily serves schnitzel. All that I have tried are excellent. The sides are some of the best I’ve had. Having been to Germany and spent four years there, I’ve searched for the same tastes since. I found them at the Schnitzel King.

The schnitzel is great and the home fries are authentic German. Try the Spaetzle(egg noodles). They are very good and go great with the Wiener Art. The other thing that is authentic is the drinks. Like Germany there are no free refills for anything carbonated, but the water is. This place is a great value if you don’t mind the sassiness from the servers. This is family owned and they do things their way. We enjoy this place for lunch.

I haven’t been here in years since I don’t live down there anymore, but I have dreams about this place! It’s freaking amazing. The location is kinda of sketch, but don’t let it fool you! The food is far superior to many of the restaurants is eat at in Germany and the dressing is amazing. I searched hi and low for a dressing similar to it for years after I left and closest I ever found was a tiny restaurant in Zurich, which I ate salads all night long and they thought I was crazy! Now that I’m living back in the state, I’d say it’s worth the 3 hour drive down! The jäger schnitzel was always my favorite too! Do yourself a favor, and just go there, you won’t be sorry!

Food was awesome by far! Best priced/tasty German food in Colorado Springs. But the waitress lady there was quite rude. My family were not welcomed by her presence because she gave us all a annoyed stare and sat us down. So we decided to let that slide. She rushed us on our order, she pretty much threw our drinks on the table but luckily the food was great. The chef came out and spoke to us and blah blah. We received our check, paid it. The waitress comes over and hunches and disrespectfully told us that we under tipped her. I was like wow! How f****** rude. We let her know that her service was horrible and she is rude. And of course, she didn’t take it well. I gathered my family and politely waved goodbye.

I went there specifically for the spaghetti ice cream. we were seated by the waitress and were told that she had to check with the owner to see if he had all the ingredients to make the spaghetti ice cream. the owner was sitting at a table with other guests and the waitress walked over to ask him if he had the ingredients and he said no and he was not going to go buy them so we left. Very disappointing.

Love it! Such yummy food and for great prices! The house salad dressing is so yummy that I always buy a container to take home! The schnitzel is always cooked perfectly and crispy. The chef always comes to check on everyone, and the staff are friendly and accommodating.

Rude. Very rude. They may have had good food and good prices but I will never go back because of how horribly my grandmother and I were treated just for asking for a menu to take home a few minutes before they opened.

We have visited a few German restaurants in the area and they are by far the best! We lived in Europe for a few years and it’s hard to match the quality and flavor. I will never go to a different restaurant. The staff are German and they get most of their ingredients shipped from Germany. A must try! The ambiance is not great, but the waitress was a doll and the food was spectacular!

Schnitzel King treated us right on a night that no one felt like cooking. I had the Jaeger Schnitzel(schnitzel with brown gravy and mushrooms) and my dinner date had the Robber Schnitzel(with hollandaise sauce and bacon). The red cabbage was spot on, and the spaetzle was mega comfort food on a cold, snowy night. Our server(ie the owner and his wife) insisted that we try the homemade apple streusel with amaretto cream for dessert(umm.ok!) and it was delicious. This place feels like going to your German grandma’s house for dinner, if you had a German grandma. Comforting, warm experience and good food. They are already decorated for the holidays — including German Christmas carols while you dine! We are going back on invitation to their St. Nicklaus party next week :)

This is a little hole in the wall place that is easily overlooked, unfortunately, because it’s delicious! They are always empty when I eat there so I worry that they’ll end up having to close their doors. I forget all the names of the dishes so forgive me, I believe it’s the Ram-schnitzel that I love so much and which ever other dish comes with the mushroom gravy. I don’t care for spaetzel so I always order the fried potatoes and they are a wonderful companion to the pork schnitzels and gravies. Their house salad dressing is simply amazing so be sure to try it with your salad instead of going with your usual favorite.

I ordered the Rahmschnitzel, tossed salad, red cabbage and spaetzle. Rahmschnitzel is supposed to be smothered in gravy, but mine had maybe a drop of gravy(which I had to put salt on the gravy because it was tasteless) on it. The spaetzle were dry and chewy. The red cabbage was boiled down to a mush and tasted horrific. My salad was old and it seemed frozen at one point. The Vinaigrette was so sweet that I could not even eat a cucumber. My daughter’s schnitzel salad was drowsed in the nasty Vinaigrette and MUSTARD??? I am from Germany and I am ashamed of the quality of their food. Nothing about it is authentic!!! It is gross and I will never order with them again. I just threw 45 dollars in the trash(literally) A few hours after eating their food I got violently sick and threw up all night.

I’m no expert when it comes to German food, but I’ve had some GREAT German food all over Fredericksburg, Texas, and this place just didn’t have the feel I was expecting. It was dark, candlelit, with some Christmas light, a tree, and stockings on the walls. Any place with Christmas lights get an extra half-star from me! The place looks great except for the ceiling which was just big vents and icky looking tiles that just didn’t seem to go with the rest of the place. The music, as other reviewers mentioned, was mixed Italian and Spanish and a bit of German. At once point the music stopped in the middle of a song and the waiter said it was a tape. Weird. There was lost of schnitzel on the menu but no info on any of them. The waiter was pretty good at explaining them though. I got the Robber Schnitzel and my wife had the Swiss and mushroom schnitzel. Robber Schnitzel was a pork cutlet with Hollandaise sauce. It was a bit overcooked and was difficult to cut with a pretty decent steak knife. The size of this thing took up the entire plate and the sauce was pretty amazing! I did eat the whole thing. The fried potatoes were sliced mostly paper thin but there were some thicker slices that could have used a bit more cooking, but they were still quite tasty, salted and peppered just right and they were superb with all the extra sauce to dip them in. The red cabbage was just OK. I’m used to something more tangy and sweet. It was cooked perfectly and l ate it ALL, It was a huge serving. My wife enjoyed her swiss and mushroom schnitzel but also said it was extremely hard to cut. She swore to get the Robber Schnitzel next time. She loved the sauce on mine! She got the spaetzle and the garden salad with her meal. She didn’t really enjoy the noodles by themselves, but once she dipped a few into my Hollandaise sauce, they were excellent. The house dressing on the salad was weird. The wife said it tasted like a watery onion and I thought it was an extremely watered-down Ranch. Our waiter seemed sad to see that we had eaten the salads but didn’t lick the dressing out of the bowls. He said most people scoop out every drop. As other reviews have noted, it’s pretty messy and you get quite a bit of the dressing on the table. The waiter had no idea how to pronounce the dessert special. He checked the sign about 4 times and asked the guy in the back, but still couldn’t explain what it was. It was some kind of almond cake with a dollop of amaretto whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream with some type of unidentified spice on the top. We thought it may be a ground up chocolate espresso bean, but who knows. I didn’t think it was so hot, but my wife enjoyed it. What I really wanted was some German potato salad. If they tossed that in, I’d eat here every week. Prices were $ 11 for most if not all of the Schnitzel dinners. I wish there was more info about each one and whether they offered veal or other meats. They had a good looking steak menu, but we stuck with the basics for this visit.
