Benny’s Restaurant & Lounge

We live 2 blocks away, it is our go to dive bar. We love this place! The only downside is one bartender. She tends to be very rude to customers. We just go there when she’s not working. I have talked to a lot of other people that avoid her too. Just avoid Friday nights and you will be fine!

This is a great place to go, love the back porch, the food is outstanding. On Fridays they have the white fish your choice of grilled or fried. I love the grilled. They have some great hamburgers and wings too.
I think they could find better bands but for the most part they are okay. Bar staff is quick and attentive.

This was The WORST experience i have ever witnessed in a biker bar ! I saw a bouncer wearing a Kilt Pick up a 5ft tall woman and carry her and drop her for NO reason I was watching the whole thing ! I own 2 such bars in Texas and I have seen & delt with alot of lawsuits ! This one is a huge liability & i hope the woman goes to authorities & a Attorney ! She should also fear for her safety ! I was a witness to it and called the police to let them know i was a witness and live out of state but will come back if needed to STOP this man !

Bartender was quite rude. No hello, welcome whatever. One person in our party asked to sample the cider because she’s very sensitive to certain ingredients. The bartender kept repeating «it’s stellas it tastes like stellas». My sister asked what beer they had on tap and the bartender pointed at the taps, which were not facing us, and said «over there» and walked away. During the short time she spoke at us she angrily tapped someone’s credit card on the bar. Not sure why she was so angry but it’s not the first time and we opted to take our money elsewhere.

This is the bar you go to when you want to just relax and listen to a live band and have some food and a beer. Or when you are on your way out on the town and want to pre game a bit. Or when the night is winding down and you want to hit just one more place. Great bar, nice staff, plenty of parking out back.

Great place to come and play Buzztime Trivia. Dive bar feel, but nice and clean. Food is good and Ashley the bartender is a doll.

My dive bar of choice. It’s a fun place with karaōke and pool and a safe atmosphere. The bartenders are fun and have always been up for a challenge or willing to provide suggestions. It honestly only loses a star because of the personality of some of the regular patrons. And it would be cool to have more than one pool table.

Dive. Bar. That’s all there is to it.

A dive bar, for sure. But the constituency is pretty narrow. If you’re not a 40−60something single, you may not feel at home here. Don’t expect much from the drinks, and you may have a crabby bartender – my experience 2 out of the 3 times I’ve been. It can get crowded, and a $ 10 minimum for credit cards. Which isn’t an issue if you plan on staying longer than ten minutes or getting more than a drink.

A group of friends and I were here and a guy pulled a knife on a few of my friends. The bartender didn’t even kick him out or call the cops; the bartender just sat him at the bar and let him stew. Clearly this establishment is not trying to clean their image in any way after having a lot of bad press. They will have a major crime happen in their establishment if they do not do anything and I do not want to be there when it does happen.

What a blast we had visiting this bar/​restaurant! There was a great band on Saturday night and then there’s Sunday Funday. We walked in to friendly bartenders and friendly patrons.
So I have to start out with the sign outside. The bar is turning 60 this year or next, can’t remember, and the sign looks like it was taken off a casino in Vegas. Just the first hint of history at this place. When you walk in you have the bar, some tables, a stage for the band, pool tables, shuffle board, darts and the greatest collection of memorabilia I’ve ever seen in person. The pictures on the walls tell the history of this place. The people who have graced this bar with their presence will make your jaw drop! I almost felt like I was in a museum.
It’s under new ownership this year (April, I believer) and the new guy seems to be making some improvements. We saw some flowers planted out back and we were told he was going to take out the wall behind the bar and make a round bar (which should look awesome). The women’s bathrooms are painted pink and the décor is just adorable.
The menu looked great, making it hard to choose just one item, so we ordered 3: The hot wings, the cream-​cheese-​stuffed-​bacon-​wrapped-​jalapenos, and a burger. The hot wings were the typical hot wings but the jalapenos… holy crap! The first one my hubby bit in to was fine, not too hot. So then I try one. WOW! Very hot, but tasty and I proceeded to eat a couple more. We ended up taking some of the wings and jalapenos home. Fore warning — the jalapenos get hotter as the night goes on.
They have a great smoking patio out back with two levels. Ashtrays are abundant and the service was great on the patio. The bartenders never forgot about us. Definitely worth checking out and, since we don’t live there, let me know how the bar-​in-​the-​round turns out.

This is going to be mainly a review of their food, since that is what I do on Unilocal.As a «dive bar», the place has lots of character, with chatty and friendly bartenders, interesting «regulars», and a comfortable set-​up.
Now for the food. I have found some really unexpected great food at bars in town. I have also encountered some horrific and greasy-​fried bar food as well.
I knew Benny’s had a kitchen, and served hot meals, so I ventured in on my lunch hour to check them out. Their blue plate special for the day was Fried Chicken. I have had some really good and really bad friend chicken at the bars and taverns in town. Benny’s unfortunately falls into the «really bad» category. What makes fried chicken bad? Well, their coating was properly seasoned, but man was the chicken dry. I don’t mean just slightly over-​cooked, but the chicken meat tasted like and had the consistency of sawdust. Went through 4 cokes to wash it down. I know it can be tricky to get dark and white meat both juicy, since white meat takes a shorter time to cook, but my three-​piece order was all white meat (not that I would have liked a piece or two of dark, but I was never given that option.)
As a bar, Benny’s can be fun, not such a great place for grabbing a bite however.

Went here on a Sunday night, great back patio, the staff was friendly, and we ended up playing poker. Man I stink at Poker, but we had a great time.
The shot specials were good, the prices are reasonable, and the menu has a good «bar food» selection.
Seems like a nice hang out.

Its a fun dive bar. Sit back and enjoy the show. There is an interesting crowd, a mix of people you’re only going to get at Benny’s.

when i want to get my drink on this place is always awesome. the ssecond time i went to benny’s there was a 70s-​style funk band and i could not resist pulling out the twist.

God, I love Benny’s. It’s been around for so long (1953) and the crowd there always makes you feel like they have been too. They always have something going on like live music in the corner, usually all local and either bluesy or metaly. Everything you could want in a local dive is offered here including pool tables, darts, mini arcade, an awesome patio for those amazing Colorado afternoons and a busty bartender (who has been pretty impressed with my rack in the past, we’ve compared). I always have a good time when I come here but beat-​up, local drunks and cheap beer are my thing.
