I used to live within 10 minutes of this place for a solid 22 years and it took me 25 years to finally try it for the first time. This place is ultra special because I first took my wife(then Girlfriend) there when I introduced her to my parents. That said, Omg the German food is phenomenal. The Jagerschnitzel:(Sautéed medallions of veal with mushrooms, onions, & bacon in a cream sauce) is an absolute must have. My father had the Bratwurst, I dont know if they make their own but it was tasty. My wife, not a fan of German food got the Chicken Parmesan 3 years ago and its been haunting her ever since as the Best shes ever had &3 years later it still holds up. I must visit home more often and come back to this place.

Well, I’m kind of dissapointed to say that Mickey and Minnies has gone downhill over the years. I went here a few weeks ago and I was not impressed. I got a sandwich with rotisserie chicken, lettuce, Chipotle mayo and onions. It also came with Cajun fries. First of all, the chicken was rubbery and dry, and the onions were raw and not very pleasurable. The Cajun fries looked like they had a whole truck full of seasoning dumped on them. I tried my cousin’s Ceasar Salad and that was good, 1 star for that. 1 star for the Turtle Cheesecake, that stuff is so good! And 1 star for the service. Food came out quick and our waitress was very nice and accommodating to us. Overall, its an okay restaurant for those with a non picky pallete. But until they shape up on their choice of ingredients and portion size, I really don’t care for going here.

This is a cozy, little, old-school style restaurant. The food here is good. They do American pub food, and also German food as well. They have a nice selection of beer on tap. The last time I was there, they had a flight of beer samples. That may have been an Oktoberfest special. Speaking of Oktoberfest, don’t miss it here. They have sausages, schnitzels, spaetzel, all your German favorites! It’s not fancy, but it’s good home-style cooking. And in my book, that beats chain restaurants any day of the week.

wish I could give ½ stars, but if I gave 3 I‘d be lying so 2 would be more appropriate. It seems a long time since anyone Unilocaled. It is out of the way. We felt like venturing out, tired of pizza, chinese, diners, steaks we decided to hit this place for the Oktoberfest menu. I chose ‘bretzelswein‘ which was very good. It is pork tenderloin in a seasoned flaked ‘pretzel‘ crust in the style of Panko. My DW had the chicken schnitzel which, apart from some breading falling off, she seemed to enjoy. We both enjoyed the fact that the Okt. menu had all of their sides(red cabbage, warm German pot. salad, spaetzel. Mine also included wonderful sauerkraut of a higher quality than most. Our app of Potato Latkes was greasy and one side a little too burnt but not inedible. Our looked forward to desert of Apple Strudel was VERY tart, almost tasteless with the most paltry sliver of Vanilla ice cream added. Strudel was not enjoyable at all. Our young blond/sandy/orangy blond waitress seemed in a rush and disconnected, even forgetting our bread & drinks from the nearby bar. Another waitress in the place picked up her slack and gave us our drinks. Our waitress was not very busy with tables, in fact had the least amount and while we don‘t need hand-holding, we want you available for the bread & drinks you forgot, the extra sour cream we request etc etc. We overheard the other waitress serve her tables and mutually wished we had her instead. The salad was serviceable the drinks ok. I hate to bring a place down because of poor service but it is part of the experience to have a caring efficient staff to which this waitress was neither. Ambiance-old wooden lacey curtains, with vinyl tablecloths and not such clean/appealing rest rooms. Would I try it again? Perhaps but I would no longer go out of my way for it. If I go back and have a better experience I will update to reflect same.

Stopped in and was pleasantly surprized. Very low key style, but excellent food. Dont be fooled by the very dated interior. The food is excellent. I hadthe chicken scampi, best I’ve had anywhere on the White Horse pike. My favorite new discovery.

Went for lunch. The food selection is typical lunch fare sandwiches, salads, soups, etc. with some daily specials. I had the yellow fin tuna Caesar salad. The tuna was cooked well enough, but a little on the dry side. The Caesar salad was terrible. The dressing was a milky concoction with very little taste and way too much, which seems typical of many restaurants in the area. Not to pick on Mickey & Minnie’s, but their food is typical of the area where most people seem to want plain lunches. Being a foodie I feel if it’s something you can make at home then make it at home. The service staff was friendly and good.

OK, so full disclosure: this is the official restaurant for my family so it garners a higher rating for sentimental value and many positive family memories. With that said, Mickie & Minnie’s has always been the little restaurant that could. I’ve been frequenting this place for all 35 years of my life so I can can tell you stories about their evolution as a restaurant. Back in the day,(30 years ago or so), I can recall this being a little place where all the hunters would go. In fact, there would be plenty of deer heads on the wall(I’m not a hunter but even if I were, I’d still think it odd to have something other than a live person looking at me while I eat). Over the years, they expanded from the little place where the hunters went to include the Philadelphia Eagles crowd. From there they decided to focus on their strengths in making this a quaint family restaurant with German roots. So that brings us to present day. There are no more heads on the walls and the place is cute and clean. If you are interested in a beer and a sandwich or a German beer sampling and Schweinebraten, this is your place. As for me, I’m more of a sandwich and soda type. This is a place that is friendly and welcoming to all families, come as you are. Check out this place if you’re working in the area or just passing through. Just don’t come on Mondays — they’re closed!

Well I decided to try out the OctoberFest menu recently with my two lady friends and while they didn’t order from the German menu, they tried what I did. My special lady went for a huge chefs salad, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our other friend ordered the cheeseburger which she too enjoyed, I on the other hand felt the smaller but adequate Octoberfest menu needed my attention. Potato pancakes to start with applesauce and sour cream were very good, not oily or overdone, followed by the Schnitzel Christian… veal, shrimp, mushrooms. swiss cheese, onions, and an excellant sauce and spaetzle, potato salad, apple saurkraut all very good… of course I had to have a few Hacker Schorr which completed a great meal… now for the service, one other table of 3 when we entered the dining area and a pair shortly after we sat, menus came quickly then drinks, food came out in what I thought was fast although a hostess, manager? came out to ask us about our order since the one waitress had taken a call… no big deal we had our beverages, meal was great very good service, couldn’t try black forrest cake too full, we will return. Bill came out around $ 90.00 with tip kinda high for lunch but for great food, service & drinks it was agreed very good.

We’ve been twice now. The first time I went, we ordered sandwiches. I ordered a burger. It came on a kaiser roll and wasn’t too bad. We came back again for dinner. I ordered the chicken pot pie and was not too impressed. There were very few pieces of chicken and rather than a pie, the dish consisted of contents draped over a plate with slices of biscuits as a topping. I give it 3 stars because the sandwiches weren’t bad and I don’t recall the prices being too bad. There also aren’t too many others places around this area of the White Horse Pike and the ones that are look a little«rough around the edges.» I wouldn’t mind coming back to try their German food.

ok, so me and my bf went here one night by accident. we were trying to go to bulldogs down the street, but it was sooo packed, so we went here. i was really excited because it looked really cute from the outside and inside and they served german food which i love. inside it was dark with candles on each table whick i liked. so far so good… untill i open up the menu to see the prices. but still, i dont mind paying a lot for good food. our waitress was a yound girl who was up our ass the second we sat down asking us if we were ready to order. i hate when i go somewhere and feel rushed, and i felt that way the whoooole time we were here. so we ordered out expensive meals thinking that they were at least going to be big portions… well they went. i got the roast pork, and i litterally recieved about 5 thinly sliced pieces that looked like they just had come from a tv dinner i used to eat when i was a kid. everything else was extremely GREASY, and me and my bf’s stomache was so f’d up for the next couple of days. not to mention this waitress kept walking back and forth our table on her cell phone texting looking like she was obviously trying to be done for the night. if you are going to charge 5 star prices, at least have your workers act like they are at a 5 star place. very annoying. AND not to mention she tried to take our food before we were even done eating! and dropped off the check before even asking us if we were done. wont go back.
