One of my favorite places to go. The owners are so awesome, pool is free, and the steak dinner special on Sunday’s is a steal! Love the pizza too.

Great apps great food and great service. Place was busy and we were still served very well. Had the chili burger, Italian beef sandwich and chicken strips. All very good.

This place just gets better and better!!! It has quickly become one our favorites — we go at least once a week now! Everyone — and I mean everyone — treats you like you are their favorite customer. Very attentive staff. GREAT food(try the chicken or hamburger horseshoes). Best Taco Pizza around! Pretzel appetizer is a must! Incredible beer selection! What else can I say to get you to go? GOALREADY!!! Tell ‘em Mark sent you.

Service was amazing. The food was good USEDTO get crackers with the salad. No crackers. I wanted a salad instead of cole slaw with my fish was nice enough not to up charge. Their pretzels are awesome. THey appear to be fried. VERY unique and great flavor. We’ve been there a few times since they reopened and this was by far the best food and service we have had.

Great place for dining with family. We are happy to see this restaurant re-open. Then new owners have made significant renovations while maintaining the heritage of this icon. I really enjoyed the Cesar Salad and meatball sandwich. Definitely a must try!

The menu looked good, but the overall food was fair. For a place that used to have really good steaks, they couldn’t rival Ponderosa with the Ribeye they’re selling now. The buffalo chicken sandwich was just as good as any other bar, but the fries I received had been prepared with some earlier order as they weren’t even luke warm. I wish I would have tried their pizza, they used to be known for that too. Another table had it and it looked good. So far it is down, but not completely out in our book. We will try it again!

We have been twice sine they reopened. The first experience was poor but thought we would try again to see if they worked out their issues, unfortunately not. Our server was not familiar with the menu and had to go ask what both the drink & food specials were. The chicken wings definitely needed to be cooked longer and the sauce was greasy and didn’t bind well to the wings. They had a great steak special, but I ordered mine med-rare and it came out well done, disappointing as the meat seemed to have been seasoned well. This place needs some work.

If you have a couple hours for lunch and drinks this could be your place. The menu is not for the refined palate. The food took over an hour, our party of twelve had food come out at three different times all separated by 15 minute intervals. Lots of Char on the beef products, breads were dry and stale. Food was suitable for soaking up alcohol, but not a meal I would recommend to a family for lunch. Under new ownership, so they may be working out some kinks, but this Unilocaler will not be giving the restaurant portion another chance. The teriyaki wings were great. Flavor was perfect. The other photos were of the test of my meal, that wasn’t impressive at all. Waitress had a tough time managing the table of 12, all of which were kind and patient with her. It would of only made things worse if someone would of got picky on her. Miller light in a bottle brought as a water refill. Kids were given soda refill while adults at the table were forgotten.

This used to be one of my favorite places. The new owners have put their own spin on it. The service is the worse you could imagine it took 20 minutes to take our drink order. We ordered our food and 30 minutes later our waitress asked if we were ready for our check. I said that’s fine but I usually eat first. 15 minutes later our food came. The chicken wings were raw and my salad had brown lettuce and no taste to the dressing dine here at your own risk

The Horseshoe Lounge is one place I will not be going back to. The place is dark, the tables are crowded together, and the food was horrible. The menu is typical bar food, and they seem to focus on burgers and sandwiches. On my visit I had eaten a sandwich for lunch earlier in the day so I decided to get one of their dinners. I got the fried chicken with curly fries and a house salad. The house salad consisted of mostly ice burg lettuce, a little bit of cheese, a few rings of red onion, and a single cherry tomato. When I think house salad I want some vegetables in it, but this was basically a bowl of lettuce with a few things thrown on top so it wouldn’t look as bad as it tastes. Then I got my fried chicken. It was absolutely tasteless. I don’t think they seasoned the chicken or the breading before cooking. The curly fries as reported by other reviewers were very good. The only pleasures I could take out of my meal was that my beer was served in a frosty mug, and the waitress was very nice. The rest of my group was unsatisfied with their meals for the most part. Two of my fellow diners were from Springfield IL(home of the horseshoe sandwich) and decided to try the horseshoe thinking since it was the name of the place it’d be pretty good. It was basically an open face cheeseburger with fries on top. They were not impressed. On my way out I caught a glimpse of the bar, which looked like it could be promising, but I doubt I’ll be back to give it a shot.

I have been to this place a couple of times and it’s a good place for sandwiches and cheap beer. I especially like their onion rings and curly fries. Don’t let the outside appearance scare you away.

I went to the Horseshoe Lounge for the first time yesterday without any real expectations. It’s definitely got kind of a seedy vibe — crowded tables, really dark, and old booze advertisements on the walls. But I like that kind of place. The menu is the typical sports bar fare of sandwiches and burgers, but they also had some Italian stuff. They do have a horseshoe(open-faced burger covered with fries and cheese sauce) but I didn’t try it, so I can’t pass judgement on it. They had 6 or 7 beers on tap, which is a definite plus, and they served them in very frosty mugs. My beer was icily-delicious. I had the Helluva Cheeseburger, which came with onion rings. The burger was cooked well and smothered in toppings, which I love. The onion rings were greasy, but I guess that should be expected. Our waitress was very friendly and the service was fast. As an interesting bonus, each table had a set of laminated trivia questions covering a variety of topics. We enjoyed going through them while we waited for our meal. I would definitely go back!
