Décor is very cool, over-the-top, Tex-Mex! Hospitality of hosts and waitresses was very nice with great service! Very friendly! Now, the opportunities… Out of stock on salsa?!? On a Friday night?!? That was unbelievable. Food was good and an average for Tex-Mex. We are visiting, so would check out other local spots and then maybe come back. The friendliness of the staff was commendable!

Mediocre service, slow service. If you absolutely have no better options go here… seemed pretty clean

I have been to several Lupe Tortilla restaurants — mainly the one’s in the Houston area — and this one is good, but also doesn’t quite stack up when compared to perhaps the location on the Katy Frwy. Nevertheless, notes about this location: Good: The fajitas are always great, regarless of location — the tenderness and the lime base are delightful. Both salsas served with the chips are fantastic, especially the bean salsa. The guacamole is well done. The freshly made corn torillas are wonderful. And the bar server a margarita almost as famous as my own: they call it «Esta noch es el noche» — hands down, best margarita ever. The bad: service can be a tad slow, and I often wonder if it can have anyhing to do with the layout of the place. Why it takes 10 minutes for the bar to have chips and dip in front of you when the place is slow, is beyond my comprehension… but the bartender has to leave the area in order to get it for you themselves; I would recommend they have someone else dedicated to putting the normal sundries in front of their quests when they walk in.

This place is very dimly lit and it looks more like they decided to decorate with everything and anything they could find. The food was mediocre and way over priced for what you get. My mom ordered Lupes steak, and it was $ 17 for a thin piece of meat and a small portion of rice and beans, and no, tortillas were not included. I got the poblano chicken and it was just so bland and blah that I did not finish it. I expected the poblano pepper to be battered in flour or something but no. First and last time for me I think.

This might be more deserving of 4.5 stars, but to see it at 3 is a tragedy. Most of the bad reviews are extreme(1-star) and baseless(don’t like the purposeful miss-spelling on the menu — which I’ll agree is stupid and borderline racist). Most weekdays they have happy hour 4 till 630, ½ price drinks, but more importantly free chips and queso. Way better than most places that have happy hour one or twice a week. We’ll call ahead and sometimes won’t go if they don’t have the queso bar out. Service is almost always great, it’s never been bad or even mediocre I don’t think. I never go by myself, but usually not in a big group and they still pay plenty of attention. This place can get pretty busy, so you have to time it. No one to blame but yourself if you try and force it and they’re overloaded I rarely get anything but the fajitas because they’re great. Some find them too salty, and might benefit from asking for less lime/marinade/juice. Margaritas are solid, but could use an extra shot, if it’s happy hour, those are the best deal, but if it’s not, get the special ones that come with an extra already. Sopapillas are great for dessert, but it sure would be nice if you could just get two(not 4 and there are not that many other options.

Food was very good, and prompt service. We brought a group of 11 in and they were able to seat us in 15 minutes. It was good atmosphere with authentic Mexican cuisine

I had the Cheese enchiladas. It was great! The quantity was good too. The cheese tasted fresh and was cooked almost to perfection. They have quite a lot of options for vegetarians. I am totally going back to try some more dishes. Whats with the interior decoration though?!? I understand its a Mex place, but come on, you did not have to overdo it! Creepy animals on/next to the table you are dining on? Really? That is supposed to make me like the place better? But yeah food is good so I forgot about those creepy animals around me once I started eating.
