Dominican salon will get natural hair as straight as a relaxer. They use a lot of heat so bring your own heat protectant if you are concerned about heat damage.

They are OK for the price. Mon & Tue $ 25 wash and set w/blow dry. Deep conditioners are $ 10, trims are $ 15. I like the trims, the older women does them well. I’m natural so I always get the wash, set and blow dry, then go home and flat iron myself with a heat protector solution and my own finishing products to avoid paying extra and any unwanted products. Like any Dominican salon, they use REALLYHIGHHEAT. The eyebrow wax looks yucky but I always get them threaded so IDK. It’s never that crowded but I always go Mon or Tue, but sure what it’s like other days.

They do the thing to natural hair where after a wash and set it’s all oily and flat, but super straight with a stupid curl at the end. The first time I went I was so happy to see that they were able to get it that straight but since I have found a better hairdresser, I know better than that now! Yes, and I agree, the shampoo guy has got to go! He’s really rough at first. If you ask him to be more gentle, he will be. But he will wash and rinse and wash and rinse and wash and rinse you ten times if you let him. Jenny is really sweet and gentle with the blow drier. D’Juana will burn you with the blow drier, without mercy!!!

LOVE… LOVE…LOVE D’Juana’s!!! So from all of the other reviews, I definitely noticed the creepy hair washing guy! LOL(You guys are so bad lol) but he did a tremendous job in washing my hair. I think that he was getting a little too comfortable in my head though, he kept repeating how soft and fluffy my hair was… but it felt so good that I wasnt complaining. As long as he didnt try any funny business! lol I think that he washed my hair for a good 30 min lol But who can beat this place! On Mondays before 6 the special is $ 23 and Tues-Thurs is $ 25. There was a little wait in between setting and styling but I guess they were just that good that they were a little packed. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because of the distance. Trying to get to College Park before 6 on a weekday will be extremely tough… but its def worth it!

DJuana’s is great!!! If you are looking for a quick and cheap place to get your hair done then this is the spot. Prices: $ 23.00 on Monday for Wash and Set, Tuesday — Thrusday $ 25.00. And $ 25.00 everyday for college students everyday. Their sign says LONG and NATURAL hair not included. When they say NATURAL they mean like thick, kinky, bushy type hair($ 35) If you have more curly like hair(2 –3c hair) you should be good with the prices. They do charge you more for trims and flat irons. Most of the employees do not speak English well, but they are all friendly to me. If you are looking for someone to wait on you hand and foot, then this is not the place for you. Djuana speaks ok English, but her daughter Jenni talks to everyone because she is fluent in both English and Spanish. I have had both Jenni and Djuana do my hair. They do the best so far that i have seen. There are two other women that do hair, they seem to do good to, but thats only from eye sight. Djuana is the only one, who does cuts, colors, and relaxers. So beware if you go at a time when there are women in there getting these services done, because you will be getting your hair done by someone else. My hair always comes out looking good!!! And I only speng about 2 — 2.5 hours total in there. They don’t use any type of setting lotion and only use a little spray afterwards, so bring your own hair products if you want them to use them. Btw there is a man who washes hair, he is a little creepy at first, but he is very nice don’t pay him much mind!!!

This first time going there and the staff were not very welcoming or friendly. The shampooer was kind of rude with his personal questions and it took him 15 minutes to wash my hair which was nice but not needed. They don’t speak very good English except the owners daughter. I just got a roller set and the free eyebrow wax and it totaled $ 20 because I didn’t get the blowout with the blow dryer. Which is why I rated it as average. The eyebrows weren’t worth it even though it was free. I went on a Tuesday so it was one of their specials to include a free eyebrow wax. I noticed everyone else that were there didn’t get theirs done and it was free so I should of been suspicious. I would go again and get the roller set because of the price. I may get the eyebrows done again because she did wax them but when I got home I cleaned them up by using my tweezers. My hair turned out nice though. But since they didn’t use any setting lotion, my hair is starting to frizz. I’ m not sure on the tipping etiquette but I gave everyone that was involved in doing my hair a tip(shampooer, woman that rolled my hair and stylist-which also did my eyebrows). If you want your hair done quickly with no customer service for a low price, go there during the week. But I will look at other places in the area.
