The best calamari we’ve ever had!!! And we’ve been all over the world! Hands down the very best! Everything was amazing here… From the service to the food to the atmosphere. Tony’s is a must when you’re in town!

Love this hidden Gem! We just moved from LA and Vegas — hard to find good places with great service but this place gets 5 stars! It was great start to finish! Took my mother In law and had dinner on the patio in front of the beautiful lake. Christine, our server, was the best– attentive, and friendly. The food was sooooo delicious! My husband especially loved the short ribs and he’s picky! Do your self a favor and check this place out.

Having just relocated to Idaho after 34 years in Chicago I doubted that I could find a decent Italian restaurant in the area(no offense Idaho — I love it here). That was until we went to Tony’s on 5-25-2016. I was completely blown away starting with the hostess who came over from the stand to open the door, the wonderful server(I forgot her name!) and the busser/assistant. Amazing service from all! The bartender was constantly coming out from behind the bar to hug and greet guests! Now the food. I have been in the restaurant/hotel business for over 35 years as a Food and Beverage Director and living in Chicago I know great Italian food. The food at Tony’s honestly topped any Italian food I have had in Chicago or anywhere else for that matter. The calamari was awesome. Lightly breaded, seasoned perfectly and soooo tender. The risotto balls delicious. Instead of a full entrée I had one app and small portion entrée. First was the Seared Scallops on Fresh Spinach. It was out of this world. The scallops were perfect and the vinaigrette was so good I wanted a bottle of it. I also had the small entrée of the gnocchi. I have never said this but their gnocchi were like little puffs of heaven! Not many places can do great gnocchi. Topped with an amazing gorgonzola cream sauce that has me wiping the bowl with bread. Completely impressed and blown away from start to finish! Will be bac again and again!

I have been to Tony’s restaurant many, many, many times. The first time I was there was almost 10 years ago when I first moved to the area… The food was fairly tasty the first time I was there and continues to be satisfying without being over the top fancy etcetera. The only thing fancy about this place is the price… Be prepared to drop a bunch of money before you leave. The location is a bit out of the way down the road from the main town but has a spectacular view of the lake. On a nice day you may want to make reservations for the patio outside as it is a great place to dine and enjoy some food. They make their own mozzarella in house… Be sure to order this and try it as it is fresh, tasty, and worth every bite. This is a really good place for Italian food in town… Better than anything I have tasted locally between Spokane and Coeur d’Alene. The head chef has worked and trained in Italy, so she knows what she’s doing when it comes to Italian food. The dishes are however, fairly basic and not creative when it comes to execution, but consistency is worth a lot.

The macadamia nut crusted halibut was amazing. Memorable for many years! Great view of the lake of coarse and dessert was decadent.

I just was here last week and everything from the service to the food was amazing. The calamari was fresh and my polenta dish was great. I’ve never had a single bad thing to say about this place and have been here several times over the last couple years. The owners are very friendly, along with the bartenders and wait staff. Thanks!

Too bad Unilocal doesn’t allow 0 stars. This was The worst dining experience of my entire life. Three times they set a meal down in front of me and then said it was the wrong one. And when I finally did get my meal it was still the wrong one. The manager/owner wouldn’t even apologize. Left without paying the bill to say the least. Wouldn’t recommend anybody to go here for a meal with their family. I have never given this been a review of any restaurant anywhere.

The meal started off very promising, with a great waitress and an ok if cold appetizer. But by the time they delivered our steak, things completely fell apart. I don’t know if their chef had an aneurism or if the owner decided that restauranting just wasn’t his thing, but it was a goat rodeo. I have to say, it’s the first time I’ve ever had a $ 30 entrée placed in front of me… and removed 5 minutes later… replaced with the«right» entrée… Aaand REMOVED again. And then… drumroll, please… replaced with the original entrée. You can’t make this stuff up, people. When my husband complained to the owner(aneurysm Tony) he was told«whaddya want me to do, give you the restaurant?»

I had the small caprese salad and it was fine, but nothing special. Then I ordered the Cappe Sante appetizer for my meal. I wasn’t hungry enough to order an entrée and it sounded good. Let me tell you that it was To Die For!!! The menu describes it as ‘Pan seared scallops with a spicy limoncello vinaigrette over baby spinach’. It must have had at least eight cloves of chopped garlic in that vinaigrette which made it unbelievably delicious. I can’t even describe how fabulous it was. Then I ordered a cup of coffee, which was robust and very flavorful and the Limoncello mascarpone cheesecake which was ok but not fantastic.

Great atmosphere and solid service combined with top flight food = a memorable meal out. Italian fare with an Inland Northwest approach. Fantastic view from the dining room, too. Pasta dishes were great, sauces were of high quality and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The menu had a good variety of meat and poultry dishes, and our entrees were well prepared and presented. The whole experience was well worth the trip over to the restaurant.

Tony’s on the Lake is one of my favorite date-night spots, in Coeur d’ Alene, for several reasons. The food here is rustic and flavorful. It isn’t exactly an innovative or modern menu, but I don’t always want that. I have tried several different entrees and appetizers and I have two personal standouts: the veal shank osso bucco(comes with risotto and usually green beans) and the house made, warm mozzarella with olives and olive oil. The veal shank is succulent and flavorful and they give you a little spoon, to get to the marrow. I have also enjoyed a few fish dishes here as well. Aside from the food, the location is beautiful, overlooking the lake and with boat-up access, across the street. It is one of the very few places to boat to and eat, on lake CDA and by far the best of the options. Tony’s is just a solid pick, when you want a truly great meal out. My only suggestion would be that they re-do their bathroom, because it feels like a child daycare(children’s books and toys cluttering the very small space). It is just an odd experience in the Women’s restroom, anyway. But not anything that would deter me from eating here!

Fine dining, casual atmosphere. All the bells and whistles here, garnishes, chiffonades, juliennes, open your favorite culinary textbook, this place has it. For the money, just wonderful. The wait staff knows the menu, is willing to help you wade through the choices and amazingly attentive. While this is not really a «family» restaurant, they were gracious and had a good sense of humor with my 8 year old grandson(something of a gourmand in his own right). Kitchen presented impeccable steak, chicken, and fish. Sides were fresh and tasty, green beans just ever so al dente, potatoes creamy and sweet, mixed veg was perfect. The wine list is adequate. The dessert offerings were wonderful, I fell for the cheesecake, again, a sucker for cheesecake.

I was in town for the IRONMAN and went in for an early dinner with a few friends the night before the race. We went in right when they opened so it didn’t get busy until we left, so almost the entire staff seemed to stop by our table to say hi at some point. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. I appreciated that my water glass was refilled anytime it was halfway full. Everything I ate was excellent. I had a garden salad and the lasagna. An added bonus was the great view of the lake from our table.

God I’m so impressed with this place. We made a reservation but we had no problem getting a table right away without mentioning it. The staff are very nice, we were greeted by multiple people before we were even seated. The food is TODIEFOR. I LOVEITHERE. Their seafood is a must-have. Don’t forget dessert! This is Idaho, so the portions are HUGE. But who doesn’t love a lot of really good food? Our waitress was super nice, she always checked on us and was always really patient when we couldn’t decide what to order. Oddly, the guy who got our waters was the opposite. That’s why I gave Tony’s 4 stars instead of 5.

We love Tony’s! If you go, you must have the mozzarella special. To. Die. For. This is a casual restaurant with outdoor seating for gorgeous days by the lake. It’s incredibly popular and it’s easy to see why. The food is great, staff is friendly and atmosphere lively. My husband and I both had salads and steaks another salad was good, but the steak was excellent. Steaks came with a mushroom ravioli with a Gorgonzola sauce and the mixture with the steaks was excellent. Fair warning however — we should have split one steak dinner. After the mozzarella and salads, we wound up taking half our dinner home. We love Tony’s and will be back again and again.
