I have always been a fan of Hibachi food but after my experience here im turned off from it. My boyfriend and I had family visiting so we thought it would be fun to take them here for the fun atmosphere and hopefully good food. The chef was not very friendly and he ended up giving my salmon away to the other family at the table. At this point the chef turned to me and asked if he could just take the salmon off the other guys plate and give it back to me. Obviously, I said no as the guy had been eating off his plate all night. He then gave another chef at a different table a new piece of salmon to cook for me and when I was given this one it was not cooked all the way and was raw. Now my family was done eating and I had yet to get a meal to eat. They were not apologetic and very rude about the whole thing and still charged me full price for my meal. I left very unhappy and will never be back.

I hate leaving negative reviews but this place was just… not good. The wait staff was awkward, the owner(I’m assuming) was on his phone the whole time, the buy 1 get 1 for .99 special has 5 different stipulations that aren’t listed on the menu or anywhere else,(I saw it coming back from the bathroom by their register), and it was just really sub-par taste wise. We will definitely not be returning. :/Sorry Sakura. We paid $ 50 for lunch and we are still hungry because we couldn’t even finish what we ordered.

The hibachi bar was amazing! The food and service was incredible, especially the rice! The salmon was the best salmon I have ever had. Definitely try it out!

Absolutely pathetic! Very overpriced and food very oily. We got a Groupon as a gift and decided to try the restaurant. Can honestly say we won’t be back again!

We have always tried to come here on special occasions as food is good and cooks are entertaining. Well worth a trip.

Mediocre. The Fantastic roll was the only one I enjoyed of the 3 we ordered. And it was good, indeed.(Fire cracker was the other specialty one we got.) Subpar clear soup(not even clear?), and they have red bean ice cream and tempura ice cream, but they can’t make red bean tempura ice cream, so that was lame. I cannot speak for the hibachi, but we won’t be returning here for sushi anytime soon. Or likely ever.

Visiting from south and got a groupon. First — they make you choose soup or salad. Cheapskate style. Then I ordered sushi. Ingredients were fresh but they really didn’t know the types. Argued with me about the types of rolls. However I am Japanese. They changed the order without a fight. Waiter tried to help.

I have been coming here for years because I love Japanese food… BUT in recent years I always feel far more rushed. There is no understanding of courses at Sakura. Okay maybe a minuscule amount. When you get your soup, entrée only a minute later and then sushi a minute later that is so irritating! I’m sitting here in October looking for warm food!!! I have a table full of shit! Now I feel like I have to scarf it all down before it gets cold! The waitstaff hover over you waiting for you to order. THEYWANTYOUINANDOUT. I work in a restaurant, that’s not how things work. Food is great though. For an OVERALL better experience, go to Mr. Fuji right across the street. They talk to you, are friendly and never pushy.

The food was mediocre at best. The teriyaki chicken was bland and had a weird texture. The crazy noodles were soggy and unappetizing. The best part of the meal was the salad that came with the teriyaki. I can’t say that I’ll order from here again. I can’t commit on the actual restaurant space as I placed a delivery order.

They bait you with a seemingly good Groupon deal, but then they charge you extra by denying you their in-house promos(like BOGO regular sushi rolls). You wind up paying all(if not more) of what you thought you’d save with the Groupon. In fact, waiter first said only Tables get BOGO sushi rolls not Hibachi area. We thought that sounded ridiculous, so we called over the manager. Manager then said we couldn’t have BOGO because we had the Groupon. Wait staff were lackluster, food is mediocre at best. We requested light on the soy sauce to waiter. And then to be sure reminded the cook, who laughed at us as if we were high maintenance customers. Just rude. Find another Hibachi/sushi restaurant. There are plenty that are better and more customer friendly.

I was craving chicken katsu and a friend recommended this place, so we decided to give it a try. My husband had the bento box with teriyaki chicken, shrimp and vegetable tempura, and spicy tuna roll. I had the chicken katsu and age tofu. The tempura and the chicken katsu were excellent, and the spicy tuna was yummy, however, the teriyaki chicken and age tofu were a bit lacking. Service was good — they were quick to seat us, take our order, and bring the food out. I’ll definitely be back to have the chicken katsu!

Service was super quick, even though it’s a bit pricier than NYC sushi. It’s really good though and the owner is very nice and accomodating.

I am a fan of this place — excellent sushi & prices are OK. This is my go-to sushi place for lunch or dinner. Good lunch specials on weekdays/weekends. Hibachi is also good — but I am more of a sushi fan. Recommend trying, see for yourself — I believe you’ll enjoy.

Good is typical hibachi. Good and casual. Only soup or salad not both. Should be both.

Overpriced. They tried to overcharge us for one of our entries. Found plastic piece in the salad. Very poor!

Im seriously disappointed that this restaurant only has 2.5 stars! We were out in Clifton Park doing some Xmas shopping and saw Sakura and decided to head in since we LOVE sushi and hibachi. We ended up trying sushi instead of hibachi but we will definitely be back again soon. I had the spicy crabmeat salad which was amazing! The perfect amount of heat and i loved that they served the cucumber in a larger julienne cut then most places who seem to use the same cucumber size as they put in the rolls. I also ordered the Fire House Roll which was shrimp tempura and topped with spicy tuna and crunch. Again, the perfect amount of heat and the roll was huge! It was about 10 pieces and at the end of the meal I couldn’t imagine eating another bite since I was so full. My husband had the 3 roll lunch special which was $ 13(great deal!) It came with miso soup and salad and he chose 3 rolls from the list. I normally HATE the salad dressing they put on the house salad but I gave it a try and to my surprise I actually liked it. Our server was great and super friendly. The service was quick and the prices were extremely reasonable. I cant speak for the hibachi(yet!!) But judging from their service and sushi I can assume we will get the same great service and quality from the other side as well. Cant wait till our next visit!

I can only speak of our experience with sushi. Have not tried their hibachi. This is my new favorite sushi place. They have some really creative and tasty specialty rolls. The sexy girl and Passion rolls are amazing! We had three adults and a two year old in our party. Our waitress was very accommodating with a child… Beverages, trainer chop sticks, etc. Beverages were refilled promptly and service was excellent. The atmosphere is OK, and the big heavy menu with tiny font could use some work. They have great lunch specials also. Children’s menu is not that… Its a few overpriced items off the menu that kids might like… But nothing special for the kiddos. We will definitly be back!

FOOD: We came for the BOGO sushi rolls(regular rolls only). Theirs are okay but not spectacular. I got two spicy tuna(1 red, 1 white) rolls, a Philadelphia roll, and a spicy crab roll. While acceptable, all the rolls were narrow in diameter and short in length(cut into six pieces vice eight like most other places). SERVICE: Our server was okay. We didn’t get her name, but she’s a short, quiet Japanese girl with long dark brown hair styled in a bun and with dark eyes. I had to flag her down once to get a sofa refill, and at the time her focus was on the World Cup game instead of the tables. The place only had four tables occupied, but that isn’t a valid justification for taking am arbitrary break. VALUE: If you’re getting the BOGO sushi, it’s a decent deal. I definitely wouldn’t pay full price for those rolls given their size and pedestrian quality. I can’t comment on the hibachi since we didn’t eat that.

I’m always interested in trying a new sushi place. Sakura turned me off right away, & I split without eating a thing. First off, 2 of us were seated at a tiny little table, with barely any room between the table & chairs to wedge into. Then the menu arrives. It’s gigantic! It is made of wood! I’m totally serious! The thing weighed a ton, & it had chipped corners that I thankfully didn’t snag on my body or garments. The place is dimly lit, & the menu font is tiny. I was there probably 8 minutes before I was just pissed & frankly had no hope for good times there. We screwed right out of there & went to Mr Fuji, which is very good!

Sakura is a pretty decent spot for hibachi. It’s not overwhelmingly great, and the attitudes of the general wait staff leave a lot to be desired, but the food is definitely of good quality. I certainly haven’t had a bad experience here, but I also can’t say I’ve had a great experience either(disclosure: I’ve only been to Sakura a few times). If I’m in Clifton Park and I’m in the mood for hibachi, Sakura is definitely an option, but otherwise I’d be more inclined to make the short drive to visit my favorite Japanese restaurant instead.
