Windjammers Restaurant

A friend and I had dinner last night at Windjammers. The place was packed so I was glad I had made a reservation. We asked to be seated in the bar area because the entertainment was amazing. The singer, Lanelle, had toured as a backup singer with Natalie Cole for years. I still can’t believe there was no cover charge. The menu is very diverse as are the prices. There is something for everyone. We ordered the chicken quesadilla and grouper– both were fantastic. Our waiter, Carlos, was very attentive and kept our glasses full. The owner walked around, greeting customers and making sure everyone was happy. It was a very enjoyable evening and we will definitely go back.

Windjammer’s Restaurant is the new name for The Lobster Pot, a fixture in the Tampa Bay area for 41 years. The restaurant is rebranding itself and says it is as «putting together fun and casual dining into a culinary experience.»
We were ten people, a difficult to cater mix of a pre-​teen, a teenager, four vegetarians, one senior chicken eater and three meat eaters. All were hungry and all were tired and thirsty after a day on the beach and fighting traffic and parking spaces on a seriously parking challenged island.
The staff at Windjammers went out of their way to rearrange tables to seat us together. They then provided an excellent meal with something for everyone. Tenders and Pizza for the kids, Black Bean Burgers for the vegetarians, Chicken for the senior and Clam and Mussels Linguini and Mushroom Cheese Burger for the meat eaters. All was washed down with orange juice and sodas and a couple of Jai Alai IPA beers from Tampa’s Cigar City Brewing.
Definitely recommended for a pleasant meal near the beach (one block away)

We had a good experience eating here. I got the grilled chicken and it was very good. We had a big party and they were very accommodating. I would come back again and recommend to others.

Came into this restaurant last Friday at 730p, was only one couple there w a piano man playing, ordered lobster Mac, wife had salmon and lobster, worst meal I’ve eaten in my 50 yrs, lobster had a foul rotten smell, when I spoke to the mgr his response was «I don’t eat lobster, so I wouldn’t know» WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A MGR, he was horrible, definitely a bad career choice. We sent our food back, along with the only other diner who walked out. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AT THIS HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT

Celebrated my Bday dinner here while on vacation for a short stay from Illinois. We got there early at 6 on a Sat night, so there was no wait. The hostess, our server (also from Illinois… His name was John — he was great!!) were all very friendly! The food was excellent, and the price point was even better! I had the chefs soup of the day, corn chowder, and I could have made a meal out of it — it was SO GOOD! My entrée was the crab cakes w/​garlic mashed potatoes and a squash/​zucchini medley. ALL WERE EXCELLENT! My BF had a steak and potatoes, and we both couldn’t have been more pleased!!! We both highly recommend Windjammers — yum! I’ll definitely be back every time I visit Clearwater beach!

Great place to have dinner after a long day at Clearwater beach.
The service was amazing granted that they see hundreds of people a day. The bars on the beach had a long wait and this place had no wait for our group of 8. Our server made us laugh, made great recommendations, and was very attentive.
We ordered black bean burgers, mussel linguini, and a regular burger. We are a very picky group and not a single person left any food on their plate! The black bean burger was large in portion and delicious in taste. Not too dry which can be hard to do!
The pasta was out of this world! I dont understand how they could have made pasta so delicious!
The beer selection is also pretty excellent! No drafts yet but they said they’re coming soon!
I really recommend this place! I’ll be back next time I vacation here.

Escargo comes without no bread, and kind sweet… Lobster salads kind a chewy. No flatbread early in evening… Is an ok restaurant that’s nothing to write home about.
