Great service and great food and great people! I work across the street and go there once a week and their consistency level of service is always the same! As for food; love everything but mainly the beef sliders, their red snapper with the coconut sauce and their lamb chops which are amazing! It’s nice to have a great restaurant close by but it’s worth the drive even if you’re on the other side of the bridge.

Wasn’t bad… service was good and prices were decent. However I would not go here thinking you are going to get the fancy steakhouse service. Stick with Charley’s or Berns if that is what you’re looking for.

I had a queen prime rib with garlic mash potatoes. The prime was cooked a perfect medium rare. It melted in my mouth. I wanted to order another one. I highly recommend.

interior was pleasant. Tables were not crowed together. The lighting was a bit dim, but it gave the place an intimate feel. Subtle background music(jazz) was not overpowering. Service was outstanding. Friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. Food was amazing. The fried lobster appetizer was great — something I usually never order because most places«rubberize» the lobster. Wife and I shared a Caesar salad and a baked potato — both were huge and more than enough for the two of us. My steak was cook to perfection. Tender, juicy, and flavorful. You could cut it with a butter knife. A perfect meal. Pricey? Yes, but we’ll worth the price.

I don’t even know where to begin. Wow. I was expecting a steakhouse that was rated the«best steakhouse in Tampa bay.» Talk about a huge disappointment! My husband and I both got our steaks and they were well done when we had ordered medium! They took it back and returned with a filet mignon that was COMPLETELY full of fat. I couldn’t eat it so I ordered a New York strip which actually turned out good. My problem is that the manager, Kevin, was so unapologetic when he came out! He stated, «I can’t cook another steak… so what was wrong with it?» Then he proceeded to say that he saw no fat in my filet after I said there was and even the waitress had agreed! What kind of service is that? No thank you! I’d much rather go to Bern’s or Capital Grille.

Were here yesterday with some colleagues. As usual my food was fantastic. Cold alaskan king crab legs to start with and an absolutely incredible filet mignon for dinner. Awesome — this is one of my favourite steakhouses worldwide — and I’ve been to a lot. Keep it up!

Had a chance to go to dinner with the usual suspects tonight at Bascom’s Chop House. I’ve never been and I was happy for the chance. We had reservations under our usual name for 7 for a party of 8. When we arrived at just before 7, we were told the name was DIFFERENT and the party was for 9 and it was actually 7:30… Uh. Ok? I’m not sure how they got all of that wrong, but hey. They are over achievers in that respect. It turned out that only 6 of our usual party were able to show up so once we were all assembled we were actually seated at 7:10. Our waiter, Phil introduced himself and explained about Bascom’s Chophouse, what their specialties were and a little about their wine list — which looked usual, until you opened the leather cover to see an Ipad beneath. Pretty Cool. We all took a few moments, while bread and water was delivered. One thing that I can say about this is when I’m at a «high end» place, I expect real butter not a margarine mix, sadly that is what we got. ICK, the bread though, was hot, crispy and tasty. While others placed their orders, the husbeast and I placed ours for starters of a French Onion Soup and the Fried Shirmp, we decided to split the 24 oz Porter house cooked Med Rare, and sides of a Caeser salad and asparagus. I disliked that everything for the meal — the usual sides, when ordered with a steak or chops were ala carte, but when ordered with seafood, were included. The prices for the steak were high enough for those things to be included. The soup: it was GOOD. I mean really, REALLY good. The broth was pretty amazing, the cheesy topping was crispy and a mix of cheeses and of course the carmelized onions were perfection. The fried shrimp: It was a serving of 4 split shrimp lightly battered and well seasoned. They tasted delicious, but for $ 11.95 that’s $ 3 a shrimp. I would NOT order that again. I figured for the price, you’d get maybe 6, I was wrong. The salad: It was served with 2 anchovies atop, with a parmesan frico on the side, atop a pile of some good, some off tasting romaine lettuce. What saddened me was that our waiter didn’t offer fresh ground pepper, which would have brought this salad up quite a bit. The asparagus: 10 spears for $ 5.95. A bit expensive, but absolutely delicious. When I took my portion and placed it on my plate, it got covered with the meat juices and that just made it SO much better. The Steak: Our Porterhouse was perfectly cooked, a nice char on the edges, with just the right amount of fat. I cut the meat off the small side(the fillet) and the tip off the other side and kept that for me, giving the husbeast the bone and the rest. My meat was absolute perfection, buttery and melt in your mouth good. $ 34.95 and I would certainly order it again. The service was fabulous. Phil was attentive and made sure our drinks got filled and refilled as needed. When it was time for desserts, some of our party chose the flourless chocolate cake and some chose cheesecake, while others simply chose coffee. The coffee was divine, and the flourless torte was OMG So good. I will come back. The food was Delish!!!

Went here last week as I was in Florida for work. I was very pleased! The scallops, calamari and cheesecake were amazing! I wish there was one in New York. Defiantly a must try!

Food was pretty good. We ordered a $ 90 bottle of red wine and they brought it chilled. I’m scratching my head on that one.

Went here for Valentine’s Day. Really wish we wouldn’t of though. Not only was this place over priced for sub par food, but my boyfriend got food poisoning. I called the restaurant the next day because I had to take the boyfriend to the ER. And we narrowed it down to the restaurant. When I spoke to the manager he said he was«so sorry» and proceeded to tell me they were going to send us something to make up for the incident. And that he «can’t believe» that my boyfriend got sick. I got the feeling he thought I was lying. But if he would like to see the hospital bill I’d be more than happy to show. Now here we are two weeks later and nothing. But that’s ok I’ve already told everyone I know about our experience at Bascoms. I work in the food industry too and I know how food poisoning happens, and frankly I’m disgusted by the thought. We spent well over 150 bucks for our valentines dinner when we could’ve gone somewhere else and had better service, food and quality for our hard earned money. Instead we had to go to the emergency room and spend even more of our hard earned money on something that never should’ve happened in the first place. I will never go back to this establishment and I will make sure none of my friends or family go so they don’t have to go through what my boyfriend and I went through.

Prior to coming here, I’ve heard a lot of great things, so I was pretty excited to try it when my cousin decided to have his birthday dinner here. They were definitely accommodating for our party of 15. I really wish I remember our waitress name because she was great! We ordered a few appetizers. Calamari, chicken quesadilla, oyster Rockefeller, spinach dip, & fried lobster bites! The fried lobster bites were my favorite out of it and is definitely a must try! Everyone order different things as far as entrée. I ordered the bone in ribeye, medium rare. It was fantastic. There was a garlic butter glaze over it that made it that much more delicious! I also ordered the jalapeño Mac and cheese. It was ok, not the best but not the worst. Not sure I would order it again. My significant other ordered the prime rib and he devoured it! We will definitely be back. Prices were very reasonable for a steakhouse! PS. I hear the bathrooms are very clean and something to check out!

One of our work vendors took us out to lunch here today and it was fantastic. The interior is very nice and upscale, service was top notch and food was delicious. The service is what stood out the most to me. Our server was very attentive and courteous which made our experience even better. We started off with the crab cakes for an appetizer. They were some of the best crab cakes I’ve had — just like the ones if you were to order them in Maine. For lunch I went with the blackened grouper sandwich. The fish was cooked to perfection! My fellow lunch goers ordered the chipotle grouper, prime rib and the crab cake sliders. Everyone said they really enjoyed their meal. I definitely will have to come back to try some of their other menu items out.

The lobster bisque was just okay but the oysters rockefeller were super tasty. The spinach and cheese on them was so good. The grouper stuffed with crab was good. Nice portion too. The bananas foster was ok. A little less sauce, more bananas and ice cream and it would’ve been perfect.

Being born and rasied in St. Pete, I have never been to this place except driving by it 23255 times prior to coming here last night. Where do I begin with this fascinating and delicous place? I rarely rate places 5-stars and this place deserves it and here’s why: The interior of the place is nice and the lighting will relax the mood. My girlfriend and myself had Marko as our server and was absolutely perfect in our service last night! Regardless, we started our meals off with the French onion soup(best I ever had) and then our Caesar salad with warm sesame rolls(both were very delicious). Our main entrée we both decided to partake on was their«weekend special» which was an 8oz petite Filet Mignon served with either a loaded baked potato or garlic mashed. The Angus steak cut through like butter and melted in my mouth and totally filled me up for the evening. We both shared their choclate butter cake and it was really rich and sweet! I would seriously recommend this place to anyone and have to say that this place is in contention with Bern’s Steak House with their immaculate service and delicious food.

Have driven by this restaurant many times and finally had a chance to stop in. When entering I thought it was going to be super pricey as the ambiance is beautiful. We were quickly seated at a booth with the table beautifully set. Meagan was or server and she was extremely attentive, friendly, funny and efficient. When checking in the free Unilocal appetizer popped up do we asked for her recommendation which was the jumbo garlic shrimp. 4 huge delectable shrimp swimming in a plate of yummy sauce. You had to use your bread to dip in(which she brought extra knowing this). The rolls came in 3 varieties piping hot with butter. Shrimp and rolls could be a meal. She went over the chef specials and highly recommended 4 of them describing them as «stupidly good». I have never had grits before and never wanted to try them but these were cheesy Parmesan shrimp and grits and how could I not try something«stupidly good. OMG!!! They were decadent. The grits melted in your mouth with shrimp and crispy pieces of pork belly afloat on top with an amazing sauce. Sinful to say the least. I guess this could be a southern version of surf and turf with shrimp and pork belly! My husband had jambalaya with andouille sausage which was very good and he loved it but too spicy for me. Great restaurant with good prices and excellent device. We will be back.

Christmas eve dinner. What better place than Bascom’s? Went a little outside the box this time and tried the sautéed calamari($ 9.95) very good. Served lightly sautéed with a delicious sauce that we had to restrain ourselves from licking the plate and politely dipped our warm rolls in it. I of course had to get the petite filet($ 29) and he the bone in ribeye($ 37) We also split a salad and a huge baked potato. Wine was Rocca Romane($ 70) A delightful wine, so good, we had a second bottle instead of dessert(It’s a calorie compromise you know) Service was good, although my Joe wasn’t there, our server Frank was good. A little much on the hard sell even after I told him I practically live there and he had to be told to get the crystal glasses for the wine as well as decant it. I can overlook these minor issues. To me, this place is perfect
