Upcounty Fine Wine & Beer

I come here sometimes as it is convenient for me. The selection is ok but everything is overpriced. This is especially true for foreign beers. You will find just as large a selection at the MoCo Liquor store in the Harris Teeter shopping center for much better prices.

Good beer selection, but expensive. I always want to give this local shop business, which is friendly and helpful, but the 6 pack prices are noticeably higher than other package stores. So I end up buying less and not coming as frequently.

This store stands out from its competition because of its customer service. I’m always greeted while walking in and the staff are genuinely happy.

Have a great selection of wines! They carry my favorite wine from the winery at olney! The staff seems super friendly every time I’ve been in

#1 in service in the area. A thrilling surprise in this regard, and something that needs to be pointed out and rewarded since it is sorely missing from other local area businesses. The younger gentleman working during the day was very helpful (albeit my request was moderately narrow– a good dry red for someone on a budget). I am not a huge drinker, but for someone who enjoys craft IPAs and the occasional range of red wines, up county has a decent selection. My experience with Up County was overall a pleasant one, I do recommend Up County, and I WILL be back.

Glad this place is near by, it is very convenient. They have Great customer service. They are always helpful with good advice about the beer and wine selection. Has a good amount of craft beers, although I would like to see more come in. Also, nice when they did wine/​beer tasting… summer is almost here maybe they’ll start on it again.

I’ve been here a few times and each time have left happy and without disappointment of my selection. The people here have always been nice and they really know their stuff. The older gentleman goes out of his way to find the best match for you, pointing out a handful of choices (based solely on your description of preferences and dislikes, and not just the price tag). It doesn’t hurt also that there’s a substantial amount of wine selection in the place and I just found out last night that they have tastings here on some weekends so I’ll be checking them out on Facebook!

I am a long term customer of this store, and today was treated with the utmost disrespect by the owner. She basically accused me of lying when I tried to return some wine that had gone bad (I had just bought it two days ago, opened it and had one sip). She accused me of buying it at another store and trying to return it to hers. I had the receipt to prove it, but she said she did not want to look at it. When I mentioned that I am a regular customer who spends a lot in her store, she said,“I have a lot of good customers who spend a lot here.” I guess my $ is no good there? This store was a delight to go to under prior ownership. I have several friends who do not go there anymore, for their own reasons, and that was before this experience! Here is the website:

I really love coming to this place. The staff really know their stuff and considering we come in about once a week we are definitely regulars at this point. They have a tremendous selection of wine and always seem to have a new craft beer in stock. Plus, they’ve ordered cases of beer for us when we’ve asked. My husband loves trying new beers, so it’s nice that his selection is so varied at Upcounty. It’s also nice to support a local business, so we will continue to do so.

Great selection of craft beers, especially for Clarksburg. Reasonably priced. The staff are knowledgeable about their products and will make recommendations.
Occasional free wine tastings and a good assortment.
They remember their regulars and are friendly and welcoming.

The service is it’s biggest draw. Always friendly, always carding me (which I like because I do look young and there are a lot of teens in the neighborhood). They have a decent variety of beers, enough for quasi-​beer snobs to be pleased (craft breweries are assorted, with the essential domestics too), but probably not enough for beer connoisseurs. I’m not a wine person, but staff always willing to suggest varieties and occasionally has free tasting.
