Called to ask for a small special order was for vanilla cupcakes with sprinkles in the batter(funfetti). I was told they wouldn’t do it. Either they get their cakes come in premade or their sprinkles aren’t designed for cake batter? Disappointed yes.

Loved this bakery! Went there for the 1st time today. I needed a bakery for an emergency cake & I was satisfied with my visit. The staff are very attentive & helpful. The Strawberry Shortcake I brought for my mom was absolutely delicious & the kids were happy with their cupcakes. Not a place I will attend regularly only because I live about 30 minutes away but it is a bakery that I will definitely recommend to others.

A good little(well, actually quite large) bakery tucked away in Clark. It offers all the quintessential bakery items, and from my sampling, at a good quality. Butter and Italian cookies, danish, crumb buns, turnovers, rolls, breads, cakes(designed to order), muffins, rugallah, and larger pastry rings all displayed in the many show cases. The room itself as I mentioned is large and I suspect can manage a busy crowd on a holiday morning. There is no seating, so plan to take your goodies to go. Service was friendly, and very patient as I paced around oogling and drooling over the pastries. I ordered two rugallah and an apple turnover. The raspberry rugallah was delicious with tangy jam and sweet pastry. The apple turnover was quite good, but my heart still belongs to the turnovers I grew up with at Fritzche’s bakery in Sayville, NY where there is a bit more apple in large pieces.

Excellent, long-established bakery with VERY nice long-term staff. Long lines on holidays and pre-orders help. Will cheerfully prepare even very small advance orders. Try the chocolate frosted donuts – available only on weekends and they sell out quickly; fruit pies; and cakes.

I visited Vaccaro’s bakery while I was on vacation visiting and staying with friends. I wanted to buy some breakfast treats to share with my hosts. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful in assisting me. I was not sure what I wanted or how much I needed for my friends. She helped me assemble an assortment of pastries and muffins to satisfy different palates. It was a winning selection as my hosts were quite pleased when I came back with breakfast. Everything tasted great and was very fresh. If I lived in NJ, I would be a frequent customer!

Went Saturday nite after dinner at Tarrentella’s in town to get some desert. Have not been happy the last two times we went there so I figured it may have been an off night. Well I was really disappointed and wont be back. Im tired of paying good money for cakes and pastry that are stale and old and dried out, The cookies are the only thing decent in Vacarros. They seem to keep there pastry in the case until they sell it. The people who work there are not friendly at all. When I asked what was in a pastry it seemed like I was bothering her. She asked another women and both were not sure. Dont know what happened here. It used to Wonderful. The pastry I bought was burnt and dry on top and was loaded with powder suger to hide it, The inside was inedible. Never again, I have gotten burnt three times. Thats two times to many. I am done! Won’t be back!

We have been going here since we moved to the area in 2003. We have never been disappointed. We ordered a birthday cake for my mother yesterday and we were very pleased. It was a yellow cake with lemon filling. It was very fresh and everyone loved it. Plenty of parking and they have plenty of staff working. This place can get crowded during holidays but the line moves. Cash only. We’ve tried other local bakeries in the area and this one is the best of the bunch. Prices are very reasonable.

Great black and white cookie! Made with the cream icing and not the hard icing. I do not know the technical names. =)

in LOVE with Vaccaro’s. By far my favorite bakery. i especially love there cookies. I got my rehearsal dinner cake made by them back in September and it was delicious. It was half cookies & cream ice cream and half vanilla cake. i knew i just had to have them make it for me. Everybody at my dinner party couldn’t believe how amazing it was. Some of the staff isn’t so friendly but i don’t care. I’m there for their pastries and cakes not for them. It is always clean and organized. My dad goes out of his way for his birthday every year to have them make his chocolate/mocha cake. There is NOT one thing i don’t like at Vaccaro’s. Make sure when you go to have cash on you. they do not accept credit cards.

I think this place is good, but am finding that many of these Italian bakeries are exactly the same. The cookies are colorful and pretty, but all of them taste the same and have the exact same consistency. I want variety! I hate when places don’t take cards, also. This is one of those places. Good, but not fantastic.

Came in the other day to get some pies and cookies for a family gathering. When we first walked in, we weren’t greeted or acknowledged at all by the two women working. We were the only ones in the bakery at the time, but when other people walked in, they were welcomed. They seemed more interested in conversing amongst themselves or helping their regulars. Not the best customer service. We got a tray of Italian cookies that was neatly wrapped up and adorned with a bow, a Chocolate Chip cake, Apple Crumb pie & Lemon Meringue pie. The cookies were good and your typical Italian bakery cookies. The apple crumb pie was delicious. It had a good crust, a not-too-sweet filling, and the perfect amount of streusel. The Chocolate Chip cake was basically a rich chocolate cake with a sweet icing and tons of chocolate chips around the sides. It was good, and came highly recommended, but only get this if you like your desserts really sweet! The worst was by far the Lemon Meringue, which tasted so artificial it was left uneaten by everyone. Definitely pass on that. I recommend the Apple Crumb pie and their cookies.
