One of my all time favorite breakfast restaurants in Ohio! Amazing pancakes, fresh squeezed orange juice, Yum!!!

I love this place. I live in KY so it is quite a trek to get there. But if I have any reason to be nearby during the week I’ll schedule my errands in the morning so that I can eat here. I have not sampled a lot of the menu. I normally get a full stack of regular pancakes along side an order of eggs. Then top it off with either the thick cut bacon or goetta. Put that with coffee and I’m in love. But I have visited with others and they’ve raved about the other items. I just love my «usual». The wait staff have always been very friendly and available. They ask about your meal and refill your coffee. I’ve not had a bad experience there. Though as someone else stated the person working the register and hosting has not always been friendly, more matter of fact. But still, that wouldn’t stop me from visiting again!

I’m usually never disappointed at OPH. The usual is the country Benedict and an overload of their coffee. I decided to go off the reservation and get another one of my favorites, corned beef hash. As many food lovers know, corned beef hash is one of those dishes that is done great or comes out of a can. Unfortunately it seemed like OPH served me the latter. Although it was nicely seared on the flat top I could not get passed the texture of the canned corned beef. Now if it was prepared fresh and then puréed into a slop then my apologies. The pancakes were very flavorful but not much depth. Great service staff and the coffee with get you singing for a couple hours. This experience will by no means deter me from frequenting here often.

The food was fine but the system of seating guests seemed illogical and not fair. We waited over an hour to be seated with a child while parties with similar numbers(who had not called ahead either) behind us were not only seated but received their food and paid before we were given a table. As an out of state guest it was not a pleasant experience.

Had poached eggs, potatoes and grapefruit. It was fresh and delicious. They had my favorite hot raspberry green tea as well!

Love the service here. I came in with some regulars, and everyone knew them by name. Service is very friendly. The menu is HUGE and quite overwhelming. They have boxes around their«special» items. I got the original eggs michael– english muffin topped with poached egg, mushroom sherry sauce and sausage. That was«meh”(too much sauce, and too salty), but the potato pancakes that came with it was delicious! I still need to try the Dutch Baby– looks delicious but I wasn’t in the mood. Anyway, huge breakfast selection, and a decent place for a weekend breakfast.

This was quite a fine breakfast(for lunch). It was one of those days I didn’t know what I wanted, so I just started to drive north on Montgomery. I had pulled into Kroger to turn around and head back to the fast food Mecca that is Kenwood when I saw this place. I could eat some pancakes, I thought. At noon on a Monday, I was seated right away and probably the only customer not eligible for a senior discount. I ordered the bacon pancakes, 6 average sized cakes with large chunks of bacon throughout. They were good, but nothing special. I left with half in a takeout box. The pancakes themselves I enjoyed less than those I make on my own. Coffee came piping hot and with constant offers to top off. Table service was friendly, hostess less so. She handed me my check to sign and then just disappeared without a word.

A-OK. I had a late breakfast on a weekend and it was packed. I appreciated the quick service. My server was very attentive too. I’m sure the other dishes are delicious but I wasn’t a fan of the Original Pancake Michael because the mushroom sherry sauce’s smell and taste seemed to overpower everything. I’m looking forward to going back for another visit.

Was really looking forward to eating here after reviews and left very disappointed. First off the Omelet I ordered came out over cooked and the pancakes had a weird after taste. My wife and I initially thought it was the syrup. It tasted like they were fermented. We really wanted to like this place, but will not be coming back. However they are quick at turning tables and service was decent.

Doesn’t get much better than this! As a breakfast aficionado I absolutely love Original Pancake House(OPH). There is literally any and every breakfast item that you can think of on the menu. I personally am a huge fan of the bacon pancakes. They are the perfect mix of sweet and bacon flavor! My second runner up would be the pigs in a blanket. If you want sausage this is the perfect way to get them. I still have yet to get the French toast but it look amazing every time I go. I just have to let go of those bacon pancakes! Try a side of eggs and fresh squeezed orange juice to complete your meal. Word to the wise — get here early on the weekends because there will be a line out the door!

This place is going downhill… use to love Montgomery location but West Chester was closer… I had Montgomery for Mothers day and it was absolutely horrible(2 hr wait), then bad food. Went again the end of May and still awful. .the waiter said he wouldn’t bring out a bad dutch baby if the kitchen doesn’t male it correctly. .but what did he do… you said it

Why does this place have four stars? Must be the IHOP crowd who decide to trade up. Omelette was tasteless, coffee tasted like road tar, Apple pancake looked kinda gross and didn’t taste much better. The energizer waffle was pretty ok and the service was good too. But not enough to compensate for cheap coffee and poor food.

This is a small place that does BIGBUSINESS! I have to admit I was not too happy about getting up and heading from the west side of Cincinnati all the way into deepest darkest Montgomery; but my wife was dead set on having breakfast there. So we all know that goes! When we got there the line was out the door! I was not too excited about having to wait in line but it really did not take all that long to get a seat. The staff has turned the science of turning a table into a fine art! Once somebody was finished there was always a staff member a few steps away ready to clean it up. As a former restaurant manager I have to give this crew a big thumbs up! Usually the table was turned around in just a couple of minutes. The menu had every manor of pancake and waffle that I can imagine and a few that I never heard of. I ordered the bacon and eggs with a side of pancakes. The eggs were cooked perfectly and they were actually scrambled instead of «folded over» like you get at so many places these days. The pancakes were absolutely fantastic. I could have eaten them with a hit of butter and NO syrup. Yes they were that good! But the meal fell short on the bacon. The bacon was over cooked and too salty. It appeared to be coated in a super salty spice rub. This was the first time I have ever walked away from a table leaving the bacon on the plate. Somebody alert the media!!! I have never left bacon on the plate! Over all I was overly impressed with the meal. I have a better idea of what I want to try for next time if I return. In looking at the entire experience I think that this location could benefit from an expansion and closer look at a few recipes. For the amount of traffic that this business generates the building is way too small. The long line out the front door and the tables being so close together speak for themselves. The pancakes appear to be okay however, I have had only tried the traditional pancake. The true test is how the specialty items are. The breakfast meats need some work. I mentioned the bacon and was able to try the sausage. Both need work. It was okay but I doubt if I will be going out of my way to return anytime soon. Have any of you ever been to the Original Pancake House? What did you order? What did you think? Please let me know.

Noisy so not good for conversation. It’s a happening place so hard to get personal service. Food– have usual fare but also crepes and corned beef hash, and Cincinnati favorite, goetta, nonetheless I’d rate it a 6 on a scale of 1 – 10. Tasty but not remarkable. My 2 companions agree, a wider variety, quality acceptable but will go elsewhere next trip.

You will not leave Original Pancake House hungry… So many great breakfast food options! This restaurant caters to families and the low priced menu brings in people of all ages. I have been going here for years and always enjoy it. I highly recommend to call ahead to put your name on the list as the wait can be 15 – 45 minutes upon arrival and reservations are not available. We called ahead and only had to wait 5 minutes upon arrival. Our waitress had a very pleasant attitude and greeted us within a minute of sitting down. We passed on coffee and juice and went straight to our big order. The main dishes we ordered were pumpkin pancakes and the almond cinnamon french toast. For sides we added hash browns, bacon, and sausage patties. The pumpkin cakes were only available for a limited time, and I love pumpkin, so that was an easy decision. They were light and fluffy, and tasted delicious. Hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, along with maple syrup, made this tasty as a dessert cake. The almond cinnamon french toast is my favorite menu item and I order this almost every time. They cooked it perfectly with a coat of sliced almonds, and dusted the six pieces with cinnamon sugar. No need for the side of butter, these slices are cooked with plenty of butter I’m sure, and there is plenty of flavor with just some maple syrup. The sides we ordered extra crispy, and the bacon certainly came out nice and crisp, but the hash browns and sausage could still have been crispier. The thick-cut bacon had a nice char from the grill that added a crispy crunch. If you were going to order one side, you can’t go wrong with the bacon! We couldn’t even come close to finishing all the food. Our oversized food portions were only $ 28 with tax, not bad! Overall another great experience at OPH, and we will certainly be back again soon!

Five stars all the way. Top shelf ingredients. Great recipes. Friendly service. There is no better breakfast in Cincinnati bar none. When you get here be ready for a wait as this restaurant is always PACKED. The line of people waiting for a table is often about fifteen deep. This is the norm on a busy morning here. They are like this open to close, day after day. Why? Because it really is that good. Whether you’re in the mood for the best omelet or pancakes in the city(no joke) or fresh eggs made to order perfectly every time this place always delivers.

Found this place on Unilocal as we needed grub on our way back to Columbus after the holiday party in Cincinnati. This is a huge rave as we are fans: Pros: — Unilocal reviews are accurate. The food is amazing! — chocolate chip pancakes, side of bacon, fiesta omelette and blueberry pancakes — pancake orders come in stacks of four or six — with omelette order you will get automatically a side of three pancakes — bacon is THEBEST long, meaty, properly cooked. You don’t feel cheated. It’s $ 4 for four sliced and easily can charge more it was THAT good. — Reagan. Our server. Super friendly. Super other oriented managing tons of tables. Very balanced on checking in and all over staying on top if coffee and ice tea refills. Offered a to go beverage for hitting the road. Loved our experience with her. She MUSTBERECOGNIZED for her service. Just an amazing server. Perfect experience. Loved it. — clean facility — warm welcome and sat at a clean table. Con: none. No joke. Don’t believe me? Get out there and see for yourself. Ask for Reagan.

The OPH never disappoints! There are so many items to choose from. If you want basic breakfast you can delight in Uncle Tiny’s one of my classic favorites with the best bacon in the city! I’m rather obsessed with the apple pancake but don’t plan to eat it alone it’s quite filling! The list goes on and on! The menu items a la carte can get expensive but it’s well worth it. I promise if weight gain did not exist I would eat here everyday. The treat of that would be I could never get tired of this food with the many items to choose from and mix and match if have plenty variety. They also serve coffee in the cutest little mugs, available for purchase if you are interested!

My stomach growled with excitement when I woke up to a breakfast text! A friend and I made our way to OPH with smiles. I’ve tried eating here one weekend some time ago but the wait was too long. Located in old montgomery, simply take Montgomery Rd straight out. We were immediately greeted and seated at a booth. I was shocked to see so many people on a Wednesday morning but after my visit I see why. A pot of coffee was in the hand of the waitress, before I was good and comfortably seated it was offered it to me. Loved it! They had the cutest little signature mugs too. I tried the pancakes of course and they were delicious. We had the strawberry syrup instead of the traditional maple syrup. Yummy! This place is on my list for great breakfast food! Go check them out, you won’t be disappointed.

The Original Pancake House has always been one of my favorite places to go out for breakfast. I love making my own pancakes, but there are times when it’s nice to have someone else make them for you. The Original Pancake House never disappoints. When we moved here I was excited to learn that not only are they located in Cincinnati, but 28 states and Asia. I’ve known some people who based on the name have gotten this place confused with IHOP. Don’t be fooled, this is no IHOP. It would be like confusing McDonald’s and Terry’s Turf Club. The two don’t even come close. You can taste the quality in every bite at The Original Pancake House. The Original Pancake House does not cut corners. They use fresh, quality ingredients, to bring there recipes to life. Generous portions. Other people in our party said that they wouldn’t be eating lunch after this, I in fact didn’t. I had the Dutch Baby. A thin, almost crêpe like, baked pancake, that bubbles up around the edges. It comes with lemon, butter, and powdered sugar. I go a step further and add maple syrup too. Supper yummy! The maple really brings out the brightness in the lemon. My husband is a big fan of the apple pancake. Others in our group tried egg dishes too. Expect a wait. From opening to 2:00p.m. when they close they are busy. Week days have a shorter wait than weekends. We left around 11:30a.m. and there was a line to the door. My only complaint is the kids menu. For some reason the kids sized food is rather plain. I don’t know why they don’t offer strawberry, blueberry, or chocolate chip pancakes for their younger patrons. At the same time, I have never asked it they will do any of this. I guess there is always next time.
