Who doesn’t love a classic breakfast? Or, if that’s not your thing, how about diner food? Now, don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the occasional Waffle House, but this place has a little extra spark to it. I had a typical breakfast: eggs, toast, pancake, and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were smothered in cheese, but they weren’t too greasy, which is what I like. Everything was cooked just right. There aren’t a ton of places to eat in Reading, which makes this venue even more appealing.(Imagine finding a cold bottle of water during a hot Arizona day – like that kind of appealing.) Good food, friendly service, and I don’t have to drive to another part of the city to be fed well for an awesome price.

I visited the Bridge House for the first time over the weekend and I really enjoyed my entire experience there. This is by no means a modern joint. Think of it as a classic american diner loaded with atmosphere, a slightly dated look and a feel that refuses to keep up with the times but in a way that just works. Mostly serving an older crowd on the Saturday morning I was there, the service was excellent and the price cannot be beat. Our food was standard breakfast fare but it tasted really solid. My wife had a gotta and cheese omelet that was wonderful and the pancakes I had with my eggs, bacon and toast were near perfect. The food here is really good. Understand that this is the kind of place that, once I retire many years from now, I could see myself calling a daily haunt where I where go to have breakfast and talk up the events of the day with other retired folks. It just has that vibe but is still very welcoming across the board to all ages and feels very«family run». I’m a new fan and love that it’s close to home and there when I need a quick, uncomplicated, utterly enjoyable bite.

Great little find on our first trip to Cincinnati. Read the reviews and since we love little hole in the wall diners we thought we’d give it a go. When we walked in we could tell it was a places where everyone is a regular customer because the entire place looked up at us as we came in. Charming place with fun atmosphere. I ordered an omelet and hash browns and my husband had the chicken philly. We also ordered french toast because the table next to us had ordered it and it looked tasty. The bread for my husband’s sandwich was super buttery and grilled. It was great for a diner philly. My omelet was cooked perfectly and the French Toast was just like how grandma used to make it. If you like little local joints definitely give this place a try.

I’ve been eating here for years… at least 20. Witnessed the transition from original owners to new Jordanian owners about 10 years ago? Ray, his son and daughter are hard workers and strive to keep customers happy. The nicest people you’d ever want to meet. You can pick up a menu featuring their specials for the month. There’s always something I LOVE each day. Mostly blue plate specials. Some faves are pot roast, patty melt, stuffed green peppers, meatballs & spaghetti, beef tips over noodles, meatloaf, open-faced beef & turkey, all soups, great breakfasts… love the hashbrowns and home fries. Two thumbs up for the Bridge House!

This is a great place for a cheap breakfast. Good greasy spoon fare(eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, etc.) in a unique environment. My only complaint: you only get 1 refill on your coffee.

I have only eaten breakfast here, so that is the only meal that I can review. I have had the eggs and goetta, and it was excellent and reasonable. The eggs are cooked the way you order them which is unusual these days. They goetta was very tasty and is also done well. This is a small privately owned restaurant, and as such does have some charm. People have told me that their lunches are excellent but I cannot review them at this time.

1. Q: Do you like Breakfast? A: Yes, go to question #2. No.(Good more for me!) 2. Q: Do you like greasy spoon diners, as old as they come? A: Yes, the older the better! Go to question #3. No.(What is wrong with you?!) 3. Q: Do you like when the entire restaurant is 60+ and the waiter gets you coffee automatically while calling you hun? A: Yes, duh. Go to question #4. No.(Stop reading now.) 4. Q: Do you like when your omelette is so greasy that it completely eliminates any shred of a hangover? A: Yes, the medicine of the Gods! Go to question #5. No. I don’t like grease.(This place isn’t for you.) 5. Q: Do you like when your breakfast is cheaper than a cocktail in OTR? A: Yes. I’m bankrupt from drinking last night. Go to question #6. 6. If you answered yes to any, or ALL of these questions — YOUNEEDTOVISIT The Bridge House Restaurant. Family owned and operated. Just as sweet as can be. Offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner in an old diner style atmosphere. You will fall in love the second you set foot in the place. Off the beaten path, but totally worth it. Add this to your greasy spoon breakfast lineup!

Unexpected delight. We came here for breakfast after church based on other reviews. It is definitely a small dive/greasy spoon but worth the trip. We were quite surprised by how good the food was. The omelets are delicious but the home fries were the star of the show!

Next time you need a cheap easy meal, do yourself a favor — Skip Perkins, forget about Fritch’s, and(dare I say it) bypass Waffle House too.(And I happen to like all three of those places: but sometimes, ya gotta go the extra few miles and do what you gotta do.) Bridge House is a winner, and I’ll be back. It was one of those less common times when we needed breakfast out, but locally. Wanted to try something new as well as locally owned/independent. What I got was a delightful experience, great food, and friendly service. Yeah, the place has been in ongoing operation for decades, so you know they are doing something right. It has the vibe of the quintessential small urban diner/restaurant. I do not agree that it had a 1950s feel to it, it was rather more of a timeless feel. Clean and bright; plenty of booths, also tables, plus a great 3-sided counter. Would work for solo dining, couple, family, or even a respectable sized group. The full menu featured breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Monday to Friday they are open until 8PM, with breakfast available all the time. Daily specials, and they have a printed monthly calendar showing the specials for every day of the month! How cool is that? Sorry I can’t give you a URL — you have to just pass by and pick up a copy. :-) There were not too many«breakfast combos» listed; many of the breakfast items were à la carte. We were pretty hungry, and we wanted what we wanted, so we were prepared to possibly end up paying on the higher end, but were pleased that our waitress figured out a manner of doing combo substitutions to keep the price as low as possible! And she volunteered to do this. Between the two of us we had four eggs, toast, hash browns, home fries, fried bologna, side of ham, and an enormous hot cake plus two cups of coffee, $ 21 with the tax. I noticed on the menu that the deep-fried chicken dinner states«please allow 25 minutes.» Meaning, of course, it’s cooked fresh to order. There is plenty to choose from for lunch and dinner. I am keeping this one bookmarked and will definitely return for an afternoon meal one day soon I hope. I’ve a feeling this place gets pretty crowded for weekend breakfasts and probably at the peak lunch/dinner hour too. Give it a try, you’ll understand why.

This is a quaint eatery that caters to the older crowd. They have homestyle food as well as some decent sandwiches. The atmosphere was awful before smoking was banned in Ohio buildings, but now it is just fine. This might be a good place to take a grandparent for lunch.

I lived in Wyoming for a long time and never made it over to this place. Now I’m kicking myself in the rear and wondering why I never made it over here… this place is AWESOME!!! It’s definitely not what I expected walking in but that was also a good thing. The waitress told us to sit wherever we wanted and she was super sweet. She called us hon and sweetie the whole time. I felt right at home. The only problem we had was trying to figure out what we wanted! There were so many good things on the menu to try that we went back and forth for a few minutes. The waitress came over and asked us if we were ready. we told her we’d need a minute and she said«Take your time, we’re open till 8.» Everyone laughed, including us. When we finally ordered, we got our food fast & it was tasty. I’m a sucker for goetta and they delivered. :) I will definitely head back there again for some greasy goodness. Oh and another thing. try the pie. OMG. I thought I died for a minute or was in a coma and woke up in front of this amazing candy cane pie. Holy crap was it good. It was like a fluffy candy cane mountain of deliciousness. she wanted to show it to me instead of describing it. SOLD. It was amazing.

Call me nostalgic, but this place has been here forever and I love it. It is, in fact, right by the bridge. They pack a pretty full house on a Sunday(early). It’s a dive but the food delivers if you love a big, greasy breakfast. The servers are always nice. It has old pics of the place and what Lockland looked like many years ago. It’s small and kinda tacky, but comfortable. They do have quite a few items on the menu, but I go to get my breakfast on.

Not a bad little place for a quick diner-style breakfast. Definitely looks kind of sad from the drive by, but inside wait staff is nice ands the interior is clean and def from the 50’s. Bottomless cup of coffee. Get the hash browns extra crispy and a western omlette and you’ll be glad ya did.
