I have enjoyed eating here since I was a child. Awesome, simply awesome.

I actually don’t even like chili and I didn’t realize that this place had been featured on DD&D before I came in. However, I we in Cincinnati for work and wanted something local for lunch. Blue Ash Chili did not disappoint! If all chili tasted like this unique blend, I’d be eating it a lot more often. I couldn’t get over the subtle cocoa/cinnamon flavor — holy yum.

OK, I’ll just say it! I really like Coney Dogs aka Chili Dogs! I think it started with growing up in Wisconsin eating Bratwurst then ending up many years later in the Detroit area where Coneys are the new Bratwurst. I don’t recall exactly when I had my first taste of Cincinnati style Chili and Coney Dogs but I liked it immediately. It actually was a familiar taste that I knew from a Milwaukee restaurant near Marquette University named Real Chili whose theme was«it’s not just for breakfast anymore.» After I discovered the Cincinnati version I had to have it whenever I was in the area. Then came Guy Fieri and Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives that featured Blue Ash and I had a new quest to satisfy. The next opportunity I had to be in the area I made sure to eat there. Places we have previously tried that were featured on DDD have mostly been good; and Blue Ash delivered! Of course, I ordered a Chili Dog fully loaded; but I couldn’t resist the Chili with the works… DDD works! I was in chili heaven and found everything to be delicious and filling. Of course I also had lots of Diet Coke(or Pepsi?) to offset the calories and cleanse my palate! But seriously, if you are a Chili and Coney connoisseur, you need to try Blue Ash Chili and load it up: 5-way, 6-way, 7-way, or whatever-way they are up to these days…

What a classic Cincinnati establishment. This place has been around for decades and when you walk in you know why! The place is old and outdated but it’s original so it’s kinda awesome that way. The walls are decorated by pictures of famous people who have eaten here, I got to sit next to Cary Grant all night so I was happy! The service is awesome. Very attentive and friendly. Our server Sue was fantastic! The food was great, very flavorful and filling. I love the variation on the menu too, not your typical large chain chili place. I ordered the slaw dog which was a hot dog with chili and slaw and the lizard(fried pickle with chili and cheese). My husband ordered the fried jalapeño caps and the chili lasagna. The boys had grilled cheese and a three-way. Overall everything was awesome. We decided that anytime we have the hankering for chili we will skip skyline and make the drive to blue ash from Harrison!

This is a nice place to bring younger kids, all the way to older adults. It is nice for people all ages. I personally love going here on Friday nights with my parents and my brother to this place. It is self seat, and service is quick. It is a diner type of restaurant, so you don’t need to dress up. I give it my kid stamp of approval.

I love bringing family and friends in town to this place. Definitely meets all the definitions of Diners Drive ins and Dives. This is like a skyline on steriods. If you dont want Chili, not a problem they have fantastic alternatives such as sandwiches burgers and gyros. Kid friendly and tasty!

As an out of towner, had to find the best place in the area for the famous Cincinnati skyline chili and Blue Ash did not disappoint. If your palate can tolerate spice, go for the 6 way chili with fried jalapeño caps and onions. Top with hot sauce for a major Pepcid emergency moment. Ambience is diner like, divey and down to earth. Fast, mid-west friendly and helpful service to those less experienced with the local delicacies. Full meal and a beer for less than $ 10? Impossible in San Francisco anymore!

Have eaten here a couple of times now and each time been really impressed with the sandwiches. A double decker sandwich is enough meat to feed a family of four, pretty much, but it’s so tasty, you’ll scoff it down yourself! The onion rings and chili are also great, fun décor and great service. Can’t wait to go back.

I have been meaning to write this review for awhile but am just not getting around to it. The staff were absolutely amazing. I was sat right away and they were friendly and attentive my entire visit. My issues arose with the menu itself. I had absolutely no idea what I was reading. That could be my fault as a foreigner to the cincy chili scene. But for a restaurant that advertises being on a tv show you think they would cater to the broader demographic. I ordered a bowl of chili with cheese and onions. The chili wasn’t personally my taste, it has a strong taste of nutmeg and was almost too sweet for me. But I think I would have enjoyed it more had I ordered a coney or a hot dog with chili on it. Something to try if you have never had Cincinatti chili, but I wouldn’t return now that I checked that off my list.

Wow, don’t show up seconds after 8:30 pm. You will be denied service. Don’t bother calling the manager, John. He could care less. Now I see the customer service is reflected from. Not the only game in town. I will take my clients elsewhere. Too bad!

I think this is the first time I’ve been to a restaurant featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, and overall, I wasn’t disappointed. Sit where you like, and they were very accommodating to let our party switch seats even after we ordered drinks. Let’s cut to the chase: the chili is spot on. That great Cincinnati chili with some great spice was perfect(I had a bowl with onions and some cheese), and the chili cheese fries were great(crispy fries, just the right amount of cheese and chili). The service was quick and attentive, and food arrived quickly. I was surprised the place wasn’t more packed, since we didn’t have a wait. Overall, worth the trip, and I think a bit better than the chain chili restaurants in the Cincinnati area.

Always a great spot for a quick lunch in Blue Ash! As a non-native Cincinnatian, I have to say that Blue Ash Chili is my favorite in the city– it’s not super sweet, but it’s definitely hearty. I always have a hard time deciding between coneys or gravy cheese fries– both are great! Service is always great and quick, even during the lunch rush. As others have mentioned, prices are totally reasonable, and it’s great to know that you’re supporting a locally-owened business that’s been around for a long time. And with a Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives stamp of approval, you really can’t go wrong!

I really am only giving this 4 stars because of the double decker sandwiches! AWESOME! Huge and a perfect price. I add a fried egg because isn’t every sandwich just a little bit better with some kind of egg(imo!). The chili was good though, preferable over skyline. The waiter was nice enough to offer myself and my guest a taste before we ordered. We were surprised to learn that this particular restaurant was featured on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri. Bottom line — get a double decker, you can’t go wrong.

For what it is. local Cincinnati chili on noodles. it’s the best! I mean this too because it took me 2 years to even try Skyline and I honestly hated it. I’ve been to Skyline, Camp Washington Chili, and Pleasant Ridge Chili and Blue Ash Chili blows them out of the water! Granted I still only ate a quarter of my portion(my husband was thrilled because that meant he got more the next day) which is twice as much as I’ve been able to eat elsewhere and I could’ve had more if we hadn’t ordered the gravy cheese fries. We’ve decided that we’re only going to go to BAC now because it also didn’t make us feel as awful as the other places did :)

When eating Cincinnati chili I am not biased, I’m not sure I could turn away a three way or cheese coney if you paid me. That being said I do have a soft spot in my heart for the little guy and patronize Blue Ash Chili due to proximity and good food. Their chili is on par with the rest of Cincinnati not to mention great gravy cheese fries, double decker sandwiches, and diner style breakfast. If you are in the mood for comfort food you will be going to the right place with Blue Ash Chili!

Better late then never we went on a road trip a few weeks ago. After a long day of driving we stopped in here using the Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives app. Everyone was super nice, the food was incredible! Not to mention everything was so reasonably priced. I can not wait to head back there again. I fact the next morning and looked at each other and both said I wish we could go there for breakfast this morning.

Although I can’t really say I’m a true fan of Cincinnati-style Chili, I felt compelled to give this place a try while in town. Simple menu and a small, compact space. I opted for the 4-way Cincinnati style chili(spaghetti, chili, cheese, beans) which was a bit too sweet for my taste. But adding a little hot sauce really brought out the flavors I like… it seemed to counteract the strong cinnamon /spice flavor and give it a bit more of a vinegar kick that i prefer. Not saying I’d eat this style chili all the time, but glad I gave it a try and would probably eat it again on occasion.

Love it or hate it, this is one of the original Greek Cincinnati chili parlors. Some people love it, some hate it, but it is indisputably an important part of American regional food. The chili itself is based on Greek meat sauce. This is what you’ll find in pastichio(Greek lasagna) or moussaka. Greeks also put this kid of sauce on macaroni, which is why they serve it over spaghetti in Cincinnati. You’ll notice hints of cinnamon in it. I had the 6-way chili here. Thats the familiar(if you’ve been to Skyline) 5-way chili(spaghetti, meat, onions, beans, cheese) + fried jalapeños. Pretty tasty. I’ve always wanted to try the dessert here, but I’m always too full… Definite recommendation– Next time I’m going to try the chili lasagna.

Came with my two girlfriends. We tried a little bit of everything. Started with the fried jalapeños. They were delicious. Slaw dog was a five star. I had the cheese coney and it was delicious. Main courses we tried the chili lasagna. Wasn’t crazy about all of the cheese. Just different than a traditional lasagna. Tried the BLTE. Everything about it was good. Did the double decker with turkey and beef. Everything was good.

6-way… A bed of spaghetti, covered with this amazing chili, onions, beans, French-fried jalapeños covered in a MOUND of cheddar cheese! Chili heaven on an oval plate! Guy, you were right! Two sodas, a chili 5-way and a chili 6-way = $ 17.57. That’s a really good deal!

Let me start by stating that I am not at all a fan of Cincinnati style chili, so this review is based on the other food items on Blue Ash Chili’s menu. I’ve tried several things at Blue Ash Chili and I have to admit that just about everything on the menu could be made at home after a quick swing through the grocery store. Are the sandwiches big? Yes. But they are also nothing more than basic white bread and lunch meat. The fries are the basic crinkle fries that you get at every diner and Kroger sells in the frozen food section. Same goes for the onion rings. The one thing I can appreciate are the bugers. They had the pretzel bun burgers long before they became a hype. They are the classic, greasy diner burgers that you’d expect from a place like this. They have great flavor and the cheese is always melted and gooey. Mmmm! Blue Ash Chili isn’t one of my favorite places in Cincinnati, but it’s good enough for the occasional visit when you’re in the mood for something cheap, greasy, and filling.
