Love getting my haircut here. It was a freak discovery on my part but glad I did. I’ve never considered a haircut I’ve had to be good until going here. I don’t have a regular person I use here, just first available and it seems to play out just fine for me. Love that they use Aveda products too.
You get the whole spa experience here for under 40 dollars on a haircut which is a steal in my book!

Only negative thing is the desk staff could be friendlier. I don’t think they like their jobs very much because they never smile and usually ignore me for a minute or two when I arrive. Love the amenities and the service I recover by other staff so you know I’ll continue to get my hair cut here.

I’ve been getting my hair cut here for about 13 years. I’ve had nothing but great experiences with Blaire. The front desk staff is very nice and the salon is lovely. What more could you want?

I originally went to the Pure Concept Salon on Mason Montgomery Rd in Mason prior to this Montgomery Rd location. I hated every second of my visit at the Mason Montgomery spot. The guy who cut my hair was very awkward to say the least. He was a nice guy, but just all over the place. When he was drying my hair, and brushing it, it seemed like he had never touched long hair before. It was not a nice experience like Aveda Stylist usually provide. Maybe he wasn’t having a good day? He didn’t add any value to my experience or hair cut at all. I won’t get into the story of them calling me telling me I missed my second appointment… but they did and listed me as a no call no show in their system, which is inaccurate as I didn’t have a second appointment scheduled.
Since I have always been an Aveda fan, I wanted to find a different location to remain a customer-​which is how I found this one on Montgomery Road. My mom wanted her hair cut by a good stylist and not the typical Great Clips that she usually would go to. I told her I found this location and we should try it. THE EXPERIENCE WAS AMAZING. First, the interior of the salon triumphs the other location by far. It’s spacious with lots more product. The ladies at the desk are super sweet and the stylist that cut my mom’s hair was genuine (or at least appeared to be) and made my mother very relaxed. She cut my mother’s hair perfectly and gave her a great experience. I will need to come back and list the Stylist name once I can remember so more people can schedule with her.
I cannot wait to book my next appointment at this salon when the time is near for my haircut.

We just moved here and wanted another Aveda salon. Totally lucked out with Gina who seems to be good at everything! 3 of us have gone now and we are all different. One thin hair, one really thick, and one very particular about her color. ;). Gina was awesome and salon is nice. Love that they don’t use uncomfortable chairs for washing either. Very happy with pure concepts.

First of all let me say that I was able to schedule an appointment the same day and the staff that takes care of phone calls and greets you at the entrance is very nice. So now to business, my «hair stylist» was nothing above average. I brought a picture with the specific haircut that I wanted and also asked for highlights and hair color. Hair color was 2 shades darker than what I asked and she wasn’t able to do highlights because of how short she cut my hair. I would like someone with confident and skills to recommend me what would suit me best. I expect to go to a hair designer and find someone artsy and creative.

This is my go to place for haircuts and spa services in Cincinnati. No other place is able to accommodate me as well as they are by getting me haircut appointments on the same day. I have worked with many of the hairstylists, and they are all very good. Prices are very reasonable although some of the more experienced stylists will charge more than the junior level ones, but I’ve been satisfied with all. Spa services are very nice with clean facilities, licensed and experienced masseuses, and a wide range of packages. Definitely check this place out.

I normally visit another salon for my hair, but I had received a gift card for Pure Concept last year as a gift for my law school graduation and decided to give it a try. I am very particular with my hair, (as most of us girls are!) so I was rather nervous allowing a stranger to give me a cut and highlight.
At first, I thought it looked ok, but then the next day I realized that it looked bad. Needless to say, I was not very happy, considering that I had paid a significant amount of money out of pocket (close to $ 200 with tip) to have my hair done, even with the gift card! My blonde highlights sported this reddish/​orange tint, despite my warning to the stylist that my hair «pulls red» as my usual stylist has always told me in the past. I called the salon and explained that I was unhappy and asked what my options were. They said I could come back in and have the same stylist re-​do the color and cut at no cost. Although I was a little worried that the stylist would be pissed at me, I felt it it would be worth the potential awkwardness to fix my orangey mane.
I was right — it was a little awkward to explain to a Level 5 stylist that I didn’t like the way she had done my hair. But the second time around, it looked much much better, and now I feel like a sexy blonde bombshell. Even my boyfriend who rarely notices my hair exclaimed how great my hair looks. So, moral of the story, Pure Concept was happy to accommodate my re-​do, and now I am very satisfied with my experience.

They say women are loyal to their hairdressers… and I agree! Except for the 2 ½ years I lived in London, I have been getting my hair done by Dena at Pure Concept pretty much since high school! Whoa, I know. That is just crazy. She gets me, she gets my style and I know I can trust her.
The salon itself is great, as well. I love Aveda products and this is an Aveda salon, so you know there are no harsh chemicals and it always smells good. You get a free mini-​facial with every hair cut. I mean, who doesn’t love that! I haven’t done as much of the spa services (let’s face it, I can’t afford going as much as I would like) but what I have done were great. Plus, everyone is very friendly.
I recommend Pure Concept (Dena is awesome!) to all my friends.

Being in the beauty industry myself, I have high expectations when I visit the spa. I come here for spa manicures to treat my tired hands and twice so far I have seen Lisa. She does a wonderful job with my nails and even made painting my nails bright red look easy (it’s not!).
The first time was more pleasant than the last because we arrived on a busier day and there was an employee frantically running around trying to reach her goal so she could bonus. It seemed like in that moment, everything was about her and not the other employees trying to work or the clients they were working on. I understand how important bonus’ can be to families but I found it odd that this was a focus and topic of conversation in the spa area with clients present. It’s counterproductive to salon itself if the bonus is so out of reach that employees are compromising the client’s experience to achieve it.
Other than that, my nails looked fabulous and I was well taken care of by Lisa.

I went to this salon several years ago when I wanted to get my hair colored to more closely match my natural color, and I liked the results and the environment. I returned later to get my long hair chopped off into a short bob. I didn’t want to entrust this daring change to just anyone. The stylist talked to me about what I was looking for, and she was really excited that I was doing something drastic. She ended up giving me a cute version of the Victoria Beckham cut that was so popular at the time. I went back a third time for an even more drastically short cut, and she was really excited to do it. It turned out really cute. I always did like the atmosphere, service and results here, but it’s hard to fit it into my budget. Lately I’ve been going to the Aveda Fredric’s Institute instead, which gives you a similar (albeit more crowded and time-​consuming) experience for less money. I may go back to this salon if I want to treat myself or if I want to do something daring again, though.

I went to the Kenwood location for the first time in 2002 and Dan has been my favorite hair guy ever since. The price is right if you want a good haircut.
Moved to NYC four years ago and haven’t found a place I love nearly as much.
The facials are awesome.

I love visiting Aveda spas because they are all perfumed heavily in the relaxing, natural products that make the company as popular as it is today. The first thing I do when I walk into Pure Concepts is inhale deeply, all of the vapors fill me with a calming sense of peace, which gives me a great mind-​set for entering into one of the spa’s soothing massages or facials.
Pure Concept Salon & Spa tends to be a little more expensive than most of the salons I frequent as far as hair coloring and styling is concerned, but the free mini-​facial (wash, massage, moisturizer, free make-​up refresher later) that comes standard with all hair services is worth the extra cost.
Ask for Nikki at Pure Concept Salon & Spa in the Deerfield Towne Center, you will not be disappointed, she is a talented stylist and a lot of fun to spend a few hours with, to boot!
