I started coming to Wing in early 2015 after moving to the area off the recommendation of a friend. Everyone at this location is welcoming and professional, really making you feel at home. I’ve worked with Dr. Drees and Dr. Boyce (she’s very young, I know that can bother people for some reason) and had only positive experiences. Both are clear in explaining every step of the testing and unbothered by questions. No one will be upset with you if you decline the deluxe (read: extra charge) services.
This location has a large selection of glasses, as well as some sunglasses (non prescription). If you are a contact wearer, they have a servicing plan for $ 25 that gets you 50% off a pair of glasses and frames if bought within the year. You don’t need an appointment to stop in to just look at them either. It’s a really great deal!

My husband scheduled an appointment with Dr. Drees weeks ago. When he got there on Saturday, they told him that Dr Drees wasn’t there and he could see a different optometrist. Why did they schedule this appointment time and tell him it was with Dr Drees (and his chart note says he only wants to see Drees) only to find out when we got there that wasn’t with Drees?
The office manager offered no explanation or apology for the situation. This made a bad situation even worse for us.
We won’t go back. There are other eye care businesses we will try next time.

Dr. Drees and his staff are absolutely amazing! They take pride in their work, are incredibly informative, and take the extra time to personalize each appointment.
I admit, I hesitated coming here at first because they were out of my network. I rarely go out of network because of the outrageous upfront costs plus the complexity… I am glad I kept the appointment. If you are paying out of pocket, this is the place to go. They run great specials and will work with you in finding an affordable pair of glasses you will love.

Everyone here was extremely friendly and Dr. Drees was great. He explained everything in great detail to me, which I appreciated. I even went back a few days later as I was going through a trial run of some contacts, and they addressed my concerns without an additional appointment. My insurance coverage, what I owed and why was also given a very thorough explanation. Thumbs up!

I visited this Wing Eyecare in search of a new frame for glasses. The selection here is slightly different from that of the location close to Fields Ertl. After selecting some frames, the employee helping me put an apparatus on them that allows for the recording of digital measurements. These will help when the glasses are made and was impressive to see. I received excellent customer service. It was a friendly transaction that included more than just glasses talk.
For men’s frames, it was difficult to find a set that was under $ 200. I was able to use my VSP to knock down the price of my glasses a little bit.
Parking at this little complex is marked for each individual storefront, including Wing Eyecare. Be sure you don’t park in another store’s marked spot.

Just had my yearly eye exam with Dr. Drees. I had been to this location once before but switched when they opened an office close to my house. I had some concerns that the fit was not as good as the one I had received at the Kenwood office so I went back today and am very glad I did. I have pretty messed up eyes and my contacts in the past have been pretty hit or miss. In a few minutes Dr. Drees was able to figure out why my fit at the other office was off and fixed it. Really happy with my experience and would certainly recommend them.

Wing eyecare is a small chain of optometrists and Optical-​wear stores. I first wondered in the kenwood location looking for a new pair of prescription sunglasses. I was horribly over-​due for an eye exam, so I asked to schedule one, and to my surprise, they where able to help me in a few minutes. They whole process was quick and easy. They use the newest optical imaging technology, so the uncomfortable testing on the different machines is kept to a minimum.
When I was taken from the examine room into the fitting room, to find my prescription, I did not have to wait forever for the optometrist. at my last eye-​doctor, I was once forgotten in that room for an hour before someone found me (ha). The optometrist was incredible friendly and professional and was very informative going over my exam results. Yup, i still needed to do the whole «which ones better, 1 or 2, 2 or 3, 3 or B» thing, but he made it very quick and painless.
I spent the next hour trying on glasses with one of their sales people, but I couldn’t find something that I liked. Their variety of glasses is fairly limited, but they where more than willing to order a pair for me special.
