Just went to go to my nail appointment at Mitchells with my mom and they didn’t have us down. Showed proof of the voicemail they left us to confirm and the phone call and they did nothing. So annoying and unprofessional. Never going again.

This is a great place to go for spa services. I have been a number of times and have not been disappointed. The hot stone massage is great as are the facials. All the people that I have felt with are very pleasant. We will be back and hopefully soon.

I was pretty disappointed with this place considering the high ranking. I made an appointment to do a hair trial for my wedding which is coming up in a few months. I wanted a higher level stylist so they assigned me to someone but what they didn’t tell her was that my wedding is on a Friday. During our session I mentioned it and she told me she doesn’t work on Fridays, so she had to stop midway and put me with another girl who was clearly a lower level stylist. Maybe I should have made sure everyone knew my wedding was on a Friday but I feel like it’s part of the salon’s responsibility to ask this? I won’t say names because she was super sweet and I actually liked her as a person, but this girl that I ended up with didn’t know what she was doing. She kept asking me what she should do, as if I’m the professional… Of course I know what I want/don’t want(I showed her pictures as well) but the whole session consisted of her asking me what to do. In the end all she really did was put my hair in curls(which is what I could have easily done myself). I really think a salon with such a big reputation should make sure they take care of their wedding clients! The girls at the front desk weren’t very friendly either. I know mistakes happen which is why I didn’t complain, but I’m writing on Unilocal instead to warn everyone.

My family gave me the gentleman’s package last year for my 50th birthday and I was able to redeem the service today on my 51st birthday. If you have to get a year older, this is the way it should be done. This is something I would have never done on my own but it was absolutely wonderful. Rebecca cut and styled my hair and executed that challenge well. She had to put up with a lot because I initially felt like a fish out of water with all the lovely ladies that were there today. She made me feel comfortable and was very helpful and kind. Delia gave me my first manicure and I felt like a high society gentlemen. When she was finished with my nails she gave my hands a massage that blow me away. I have never experienced anything like that. Very enjoyable and relaxing to say the least. Betzee … Betzee gave me the works with a full body therapeutic massage that makes it impossible for me to imagine not coming back. She had me so relaxed and laid back it was like heaven. The atmosphere was very calm and the soft Japanese koto stringed instrument music that was playing took me back to growing up in Japan. I was flooded with so many wonderful childhood memories on the beach as I lay there feeling all the stress melt away. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon ladies. I will be back soon with my wife to share the experience.

I’ve gone to several massage therapist in my time but Miranda tops the list. She is extremely thorough and educated … She just has a sixth sense about finding those spots. I get regular headaches/migraines and shoulder/back pain. Simply put she makes me feel like a new woman

If you’re looking for the best massage in town look no further than Jurate at the Kenwood Mitchell’s Salon, she’s the Senior Massage Director for a reason, you feel 100% better after one of her deep tissue massages. The Mitchell’s Kenwood spa is a nice space as mentioned in previous reviews, but also as mentioned in previous reviews, the walls are very thin and you can clearly hear conversations in the rooms next door and in the hallway, which at times can interfere with your relaxing experience.

So there are no places by my home that I can find a good haircut /color so I was tipped by a friend to go to kenwood Mitchell’s and get a color and haircut. What a joy ! Came in the door and was offered a drink right away. Almost at the same time Tanya came up to greet me and had me change into a thin robe for the color ! She seemed to have lots of time to listen but knew exactly what I wanted regarding color and pointed out some suggestions in my haircut that have made styling so easy that I barely have to blow dry now. I left feeling on top of my game and my husband agrees it is the best my hair has looked !! I will be back !

I went with my husband last night and yes it was snowing and the roads were not great but we still wanted to get a massage. Received a call more than a hour before our appt to see if we still wanted to come. If you wanted us to reschedule then say so. We arrived 15 min early and it was the worse massage ever. Felt rushed, never moved from my back. Granted i should have spoken up and said i would like my neck, arms and legs done as well. For the price we paid absolutely a waste of money. The evening did get better after we left Mitchell’s

I would give it 6 stars for hair. However, I’m writing this review due to a very disappointing pedicure. I figured that the pedicure would be as good as the hair service, but I was totally wrong. I usually get $ 30 pedicures at a cheap salon by campus, and Mitchell’s was no better. First, she was 15 minutes late and she said that I could not get my artwork because she was running late. So since SHE wasn’t on time, I couldn’t get my full service. Also, their color selection was pitiful. After asking her not to clip the side of my big toe due to a previous ingrown toenail, she lectured me on how I shouldn’t clip my nails so short if I have an ingrown toenail. I didn’t come to a spa to be lectured. The other woman painted the wrong color on my mom. It wasn’t relaxing at all. I’m so disappointed.

I had my first massage at Mitchell’s in Kenwood recently. The experience was in general, ok. The massage was good– it was not the best I’ve had but certainly not the worst either– it was kind of in the middle. The spa experience itself was not quite what I expected. When I arrived at Mitchell’s I was directed to the spa lobby where I was greeted by a nice woman. I noticed she had the disposable flip flops on that you get when you get a pedicure. I thought she must have had a pedicure that day and that it was nice. I was lead to a locker room that contained a robe, a smock, and disposable flip flops. The robe was made of towel material and was a bit rougher than I expected(or at least am used to). Had I not had the spa experience before I do not believe I would have known what to do with the smock(which from experience I knew I did not need). I found the disposable flip flops to uncomfortable. I would have rather worn socks. The locker room was otherwise comfortable and very clean. I then went to the relaxation room which was a little brighter than I expected and was surprised to see… a man in there. I guess I have never been to a spa with a coed relaxation room. Honestly it was a little hard for me to relax because of this. Tea and water were available for self service. My therapist was on time and very friendly. She did a good job with the massage but the room was cold and I could hear people walking by and talking periodically, which made it hard to relax. Overall, the massage was good and I left feeling a bit more relaxed when I came in. I do not think I will return to this location again based on the price and experience. Although the experience was not outright bad, there are too many other options available that better meet my needs for a similar price or less.

The first time I went, I got a massage and facial. The deep-tissue massage was perfect pressure and I left the room feeling refreshed and relaxed. The facial was just ok. She seemed to sloppily go through the motions and frequently sighed. When I asked about extractions, she said she didn’t really do them. Although my massage was fabulous, I left very unsatisfied with esthetician. After much deliberation, I decided to give it another chance. It was a mistake. I just got a facial this time and it was, by far, the worst facial I have ever received. She started by washing my face, as usual. To wipe off the face wash, she pulled a damp towel from the warmer and rinsed it in cold, and I mean cold, water and wiped off my face. Who goes to the spa to be jolted from relaxation with a cold towel? The rest of the facial was lack-luster and non-enjoyable, even after I pointed out that I would like her to use the warm towels instead. I don’t know where they find these people, but I will not be making the mistake of going again.

I have never had a bad experience here. I won’t let anyone besides Jordan touch my hair! She actually listens to what I want done to my hair and does it!

I went here with a group to get Manicures and Pedicures before a wedding. I live in CA, so I expected to pay about what I pay out here, considering the high cost of living. Boy was I wrong. This was the most expensive manicure and pedicure I have ever had. It was $ 79! It was also one of the worst manicure and pedicure I have had. There was almost no massage and my nails started chip immediately. I have held off posting this review since I still had family in Cincinnati, but now that they are moving, I feel obligated to share my disappointment.

I go to Carly for hair cuts and color at the Hyde Park location. She’s an awesome stylist, and I always come out with a better hair cut and color than I imaged would be possible for my fine hair. It’s expensive, but it’s totally worth it. I also go there from time to time to get my nails done. Try the Shellac. It costs a little bit more, but I’ve had the same manicure for a month, with no chips or anything. If your getting a pedicure, go to Jodi if you can. She’s my favorite one there, though everyone I’ve been to does a good job. Here’s what I like about Mitchell’s — It’s convenient You can book appointments online They don’t push products on you(this has been my experience with my stylist) You can book a cut or color w/o them drying your hair and save about $ 20. That’s great for color touch ups or trim, when you’re just going home at the end of your day anyway. At the end of the year they always have«buy $ 100 gift certificate for $ 80» promo. I buy three of these each year to use on my cut and color. It’s like saving 20% by prepaying. Here’s what I don’t love about Mitchell’s — The parking lot at the Hyde Park location is crazy. It’s on the pricey side

Best Feature: Fantastic service! Worst Feature: A bit pricey — not a cheap visit! It was finally time — I’d ignored the hair for nearly eight months, and with important events quickly approaching, I knew I had to take some time to get away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday schedule to give it some love. After a few less-than-satisfactory haircuts at other locations, I decided to take it to a serious level. Courtesy of family members, the recommendation had been made to visit Mitchell’s Salon & Day Spa. I called in to make the appointment, and not only was the employee on the other end friendly, she had no problem making a special appointment to try to book me and another family member in at the same time right next to each other! I arrived and was very grateful for the prior notification from the attending family member regarding entry. The salon is a bit weird to get to at first — it’s right next to a Crate & Barrel, and you have to enter the far left door and walk back to the elevator. You then take the elevator to the upper floor where you’ll find the beautiful décor of the salon ready to greet you. I walked up to check in for the appointment, and the receptionist was nothing but pleasant. Within a few minutes, my new hairdresser approached me and took me back for a consultation. Not only was I thrilled about the lack of wait time, but she was glad to hear the woes of my hair and give me some suggestions. One of the biggest issues I’ve had with stylists previously was the inability to truly listen to what I was trying to say. One time I said, «I just want a trim» and the stylist cut off a good few inches. :-( My hairdresser, Sandra, not only listened to what I had to say and made fantastic suggestions, she also listened when I came back with a few things I still wanted to make sure were done. She did a fantastic job — I had a wash and style complete within the hour. She also gave me tips on different ways to style it, and told me if I didn’t like the length of my bangs I could come back and she’d fix it to my liking. The salon itself is definitely upscale. I love the interior — very stylish and inviting. Everything looks clean and impeccable; definitely gives you the feeling that you’re getting pampered. The only downside to this trip was the expense — it’s a pricey haircut. But the service and experience is so amazing I would gladly pay the money again to have Mitchell’s provide me with such a fabulous experience! I’ll be back for sure and if you don’t mind spending around $ 50 for a haircut, definitely be sure to stop in! I recommend Sandra — she’s fantastic!
