We went for lunch today. As always food is tasty, service attentive and lunch is cheaper than you might expect. I had the Manchego burger and a Caesar salad. My one complaint: when they asked what I wanted to drink I said water. They brought a bottle of water and then when I got the bill I was charged $ 7 for water. Tap water would have been fine. No idea water would cost $ 7.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at McCormick & Schmick’s in Cincinnati last night. It was a wonderful dinner! Heather recommended the shrimp kisses appetizer, the mixed seafood grill and the stuffed salmon as her top seafood choices. We had all 3 and she was right on! Service was exceptional.

We went to Mccormick’s for Mother’s Day, and I had high expectations, I was told their food was pretty good and the place was charming. The restaurant ant was pretty empty, it was only 5:30 when we went, the service was alright-ish, the place was kinda old and not so great maintained. Now the food was meh. We first orders two drinks and to start off they didn’t have the ingredients for the martini so we had to pick something different. Their drink menu is not varied at all. Drinks took a while to come. Moreover, I ordered the oysters, which were pretty bland, nothing to die for. Mum ordered the tilapia scampi and the tilapia was descent, but on the menu is said with mushrooms, well no mushrooms at all. By that point we decided to not order nothing else, on the bright side mum got a really yummy strawberry as dessert for Mother’s Day. To wrap it up, we will not come back, I don’t mind paying for food at all, but too pricy for bland food.

I don’t know why this place gets so many bad reviews??? Food is good and service was knowledgeable. We’ve had dinners and Mother’s Day Brunch there and food was better than other places we’ve tried.

In a word, Meh. Not terrible but no reason to come here either, unless maybe you have a special affinity for bland, overpriced chain restaurants. The service was VERY slow, it took us nearly an hour to get our steaks. In fact it took so long we wondered if they lost our orders. The drinks are actually pretty good. The Kentucky Smash was expensive but enjoyable and reminds you of a tart version of a julep. Other than that, everything was garden variety below average for a high price. The $ 259oz sirloin was okay but more medium than medium well and nothing special. After this long of a wait I didn’t even consider sending it back. The Boursin & Mushroom mashed potatoes are $ 8 extra and about average. The cheesecake for dessert is again a little below average and a bit soft like it had been sitting out maybe? It had a bit of a ricotta cheese texture. This wasn’t an awful meal but you can do so much better for your money and your tastebuds elsewhere. Maybe come here for their happy hour deals and skip it otherwise.

One of my favorite seafood restaurants. The Sunkiss Shrimp is to die for. Service was great and restaurant was very well put together. Family favorite

Great seafood options and services! This is my third time trying McCormick’s but the first time St the Cincinnati location. The restaurant is located in downtown next to the Fountain Square. There are very seafood selection at the restaurant. I ordered the walnut salad and rainbow trout as entrée. The trout was crispy with almond on the outside, and the dish had squash orzo and green beans as sides. The restaurant was well maintained and the staff was very friendly. Food came within 15 minutes and the waitress was very attentive. Great seafood restaurant!

For happy hour, you can sit at the bar or in the booths by the window –great people watching! There are plenty of options on their HH menu, between $ 4– $ 10. Of the drinks, the red and white wine are both good. The monitor was excellent and the Margarita was ok. For appetizers, the calamari is the absolute best. Also ordered the fish tacos, which were decent. The beef carpaccio was great and the service was quick. On a weekday evening, this place is great for small plates.

Good service is the only reason that McCormick & Schmick’s even got two stars. Our server was very attentive; exactly what you would expect at an upper scale restaurant. Food on the other hand was terrible. For an establishment that has ‘steaks’ in it’s name, they really have no clue how to cook steak. I dined with five other people. All of their food was brought out, but I was told that my steak needed to cook a little longer. It definitely did not. Do not order a medium well steak there because they interpret that as well done to a char. Also the mashed potatoes were dry and didn’t taste remotely good. I don’t plan on returning unless something changes drastically with the food.

Went to celebrate a daughter’s birthday and I was very disappointed… Went Sunday evening and the place was very empty… Service seemed very slow, basic things like getting a drink order and ordering the meal just took way too long. When the meals came, they looked ok, but it was very dried out… The mashed potatoes were dry, my seafood trio was just ok… One of my guest had to wait 10 minutes for his steak to arrive — it was was overcooked and dried out as well. The entire meal was leftover quality and was extremely dissapoining. There are too many other good choices that give a better dining experience…

I know that McCormick and Schmick’s serve a pretty good steak and this place in downtown Cincinnati sort of caters to the business traveler being so close to the hotels. That said, they also serve a really tasty burger, particularly for lunch since you might want something a bit smaller. The burger was cooked perfectly and had really good flavor.

Well not sure where to start the appetizer took like 30 plus minutes to come out an to make it worse it was over cooked. After finishing the app it took almost an additional 45 minutes to get the main course. Wife did not get the right side she ordered with her meal so another 10 mins to get the right side out for her. Food was not bad tasting it was actually pretty good. But the wait burnt app an not so friendly waitress made it really not worth the 100 dollars we spent for the 2 of us to eat. Won’t be going back anytime soon if ever.

So many better choices in downtown. I mistook this restaurant for what I thought would be a quality dining experience. From the service to the food to the unkept restrooms. It slowly went down hill from the time we were seated in the bar area for happy hour. I do mean slowly, as was the service, the food and the check coming out. Out waitress, Lilly, was high on drugs or marijuana. She was having difficulties annunciating, verbalizing, simply communicating in general. There were speculated promises of «I’ll be right with you»… «Your drinks will be right out»… «Your food should be ready soon». The drinks finally came out, one being spilled as it was placed on the table. 15 minutes later some bread and butter came out. The butter had a clump of hair in it. Ready for another drink… waited another 15 min. Finally saw our food coming out, the tray placed on a stand. Then just sat there as our waitress was trying to figure out what to do next. By the time we got it, it had already cooled off and was overdone. Simply asking for the check, fell into place with the service and food. Our waitress started breaking down after the third time I asked where the check is. Prior to leaving, I did speak with the manager, Michelle. She listened and admitted that our service and food was unacceptable. She was kind enough to comp our bill.

This place used to be something but it was dead dull Friday at lunch. They don’t even open the back part of the restaurant where the intimate booths are located. I guess they don’t need the space.… So my meal was OK. Salmon special was overcooked a bit. I asked for the braised greens as a veg substitute and they were so salty I sent them back. The I got some roasted potatoes and zucchini which were so basic and not for me as I didn’t want any starch. The service was very good and attentive, but when you only have a few tables it shouldn’t be too challenging. M&S has the best location downtown and I’m sure all the toney competition in OTR is hurting their base business. Great spot for cocktails and street watching, but somebody do a double check on the kitchen.

Food bland overpriced and almost everything tastes like cardboard and not fresh. As you leave people don’t even say bye. Do not waste your money. I have been here hoping somehow this place would be better every time ant it has failed miserably everytime. This last time just to get a plate of soup over 20 mins — really!!?

Stopped in for Happy Hour on a quiet Sunday(after Christmas, no Bengals home game). There were 3 groups of 2 in the bar. They must have had a busy weekend, as they were out of 2 beers and a couple of food items. Not sure if they were understaffed or the bartender was just slow, but we sat with empty glasses quite a few times. What saves the day is the food. There is yummy seafood at happy hour prices. With bargains on both food and drink, in an upscale atmosphere. we’ll keep this in the rotation.

It occurs to me that– like some hair stylists– restaurants should charge less if a server is under qualified. This restaurant should be one to implement. It took over 15 mins for a drink from the bar, iced tea was refilled rarely and never with more ice, no bread ever delivered, etc. Food was OK, but not with the money, parking or annoyance of driving into town.

Happy Hour! Happy Hour! Happy Hour! I have had nothing but great meals here during regular hours, but today I am here to talk to you about a little thing called Happy Hour! McCormick and Schmick’s is my go to place for happy hour when I am traveling for business. Every single one is different, but they all consist of great drink prices($ 5 – 6 wine, cocktails) and apps that are $ 3,$ 4,$ 5. Normally including things such as Ahi Tuna, Calamari, dips and sometimes burgers. It is a great place to meet friends in your hometown, or to talk to a bartender about what is happening in a city that you are visiting.

This location is similar to others. The ambience is very sophisticated and the menu is as well. Like other locations, this has a strong business feel and most of its patrons are working professionals who are probably having a lunch meeting or negotiating a deal over dinner. Our server was very nice and attentive. The Shrimp and Andouille Mac & Cheese was very satisfying.
