Don’t believe the advertised special!!! We decided to try the“try it Tuesday” special. Sorry that I did. The fish Rueben was the most terrible fish sandwich I’ve ever eaten! The sandwich looked huge on the advertisement I received in my e-mail, the fish was hanging out of the bun. The fish is really small, I couldn’t see it. It was a pile of hot mush. The bread WAS toasted. The fish, the cheese and the sauerkraut was all a big wet mess. The potato pancake that came with it was slightly warm and not hot. She said we could wait three minutes for another which we didn’t mind. She ended up taking them from our hands and trading them out of the bucket of potato pancakes ready and waiting under the heat lamp. Ugh… nasty, who does that? They should have been thrown away. We were holding them in our hands. The new one wasn’t much better, it was over fried. The manager made sure to take our orders right away. There was only one other couple in there. I find it strange that it you eat inside the pickles are all you can eat, but, if you order more than 1 extra side(tiny sauce cup) of pickles you well be charged extra.

Best Rueben outside of NYC! I don’t often get excited about a sandwich but the Reuben at Izzy’s was to die for. Super tender corned beef, toasted rye bread, sauerkraut had a pleasant tang and the thousand island was perfect. To make it even better, the service from Beth and Gina was on point! I felt like a regular even though it was my first time. Will I go back? YES! Welcoming, immaculately clean, amazing food and fabulous service. It’s not just a sandwich when it’s from Izzy’s.

I can’t leave Cincinnati till Izzy’s goes global… or at least puts a franchisein«the South» …somewhere! After Izzy’s I can go back out in the world and smile. I have had my potato pancake and my oldest son has had his Reubenator. We are set and ready to face the mean streets of Cincinnati, again. It doesn’t get much better although I tried the Broccoli Soup and that was pretty amazing too. They have good sweet tea and Pepsi products if you care for that stuff.(I am a Coke girl thanks, but if you are desparate Cherry Pepsi is almost Coke… maybe?) Rock on Izzy! In the Anderson Township location, you have a TV for those that want to sit at «the bar». But honestly, it’s not a «bar» — it’s more of a perch while you wait for your carry-out food. They even have a special parking place for you to get your«Reuben on the Run»! I can’t live without corned beef and Izzy makes the entire issue taste SOGOOD… I love this place. It is great!

This location has a 95⁄5 ratio for being great. Most of the time the food is great, portions are great and service is quick. Seldom, the food meat is dry or the potato cake is old but service is still quick. Parking is a problem sometimes, the lot has limited space. Getting in and out on Beechmont can be a hassle from 4pm to 7pm. The last time I ate at this location(a few weeks ago), the Ruben left me feeling queasy. I think it was because I went a half hour before close and was served some end of the day older meat. I’m not upset by it but it kind of turned me off of Izzys for some time.

Izzy’s has the best pickles in the whole world! And they bring a tub of them to each table. Yumm! As far as I can tell, all of the sandwiches and soups are good… but I love the classic grilled Rueben. I get the thousand island dressing on the side. It doesn’t get better than an Izzy’s Rueben… except it does! Every sandwich comes with a large fried potato cake. I’ve never had these anywhere else, but they’re good enough to make me come back and just order the potato pancake. And just in case you’re not stuffed, try a slice of carrot cake.

My dad and I went here wanting to try something new, and we had never been to a German restaurant. Right away we were greeted by a great female server. I really wish I could remember her name. She was SO friendly, enthusiastic and just awesome. She was very suggestive on what to get for us since we hadn’t been there before. The food was amazing(although I now know my stomach cannot handle german food), but we will definitely be returning! Great, great place!

How can anyone not like Izzy’s. Sure the prices are a bit high. The food is awesome and the quality of the food is great. I only eat there a few times a year, but I always enjoy the food.

This is the second or third izzy ’ s for us. Comfortable setting and great food are the hallmarks of this chain. Lots of deli atmosphere here… corned beef pastrami salami chopped chicken liver Friday matzo ball soup and much more. And many platters include their delicious potato pancakes. If this is the kind of food you like but have not found a good place yet try this one

For all the hype I heard about these Reubens I really expected an amazing Reuben. First what brought me in here was a coupon I had, which they wouldn’t take… not a good start. The sandwich was way more disappointing though, hard bread, very little dressing, and hardly and corned beef which in my opinion was also cut too thick. I can make a way better Reuben myself… I don’t get it. This place is way over rated!

Great place! I love Rubens and they are the best I’ve had. The kosher pickles and the potato cakes are wonderful. We buy the jar pickles when ever we can find them. When in Cincinnati, find a izzys!

I think I died and went to sandwiche heaven… seriously though, Izzy’s Original Reuben is the stuff of legends. Words can’t describe it, you just need to go in and try it sometime. I’m hungry just thinking about it!!!

Coworkers had been telling me about this place. The Original reuben is a good choice, a couple issues I have with this, is that it’s overpriced for the amount you get and poor selection of bread. A thicker and better quality bread would definitely make this more of a value, not that it sounds like much, but the grilled version just became very soggy, due to a sub-par bread being used. The amount of corned beef and sauerkraut is in very good balance and a good amount as well, which weighs down the bread. The potato cake was not at all an impressive or delightful side. The lack of choices for sides is a definite drawback. I will probably go back in the future, but I won’t be going out of my way to go here.

Recently got a couple sandwiches to go from Izzy’s after hearing about how good it is. I REALLY enjoyed the Turkey Reuben, and loved the fact that they purposely include a small container of their delicious pickles and thousand island dressing. It also came with a giant and deliciously chewy potato pancake! The staff was quick, and the sandwiches were put together just right.

Love this place. The food is fantastic, but what makes this location stand out is the excellent staff. Everyone is very attentive and works as a team. I rarely see this type of dedication. Keep up the good work guys!!!

I went to Izzy’s after a long day and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service and comfortable atmosphere. I had a turkey sandwich served with a giant potato pancake. The sandwich was good, and the potato pancake was big and greasy. This can be a blessing if you like potato pancakes. However, I’d prefer more sandwich and less pancake. But that’s just me. The prices are a verging on high for sandwiches, unless you factor in the enormous potato pancake. The best part of the experience was the carrot cake. They have nice big slices with plenty of cream cheese frosting. Overall, I’ll go back for the carrot cake and try one of their salads, soups, or wraps. It’s a nice, sit-down deli and definitely worth a try, especially if you’re a potato pancake fan.

Good reuben sandwiches and great potato pancakes. The service is sometimes slow since they usually only have 2 waitresses and are usually crowded. This is one of the better corned beef sandwiches in Cincinnati, but don’t compare it to Cleveland, LA or New York.

So I had this meeting set with a client at a Panera Bread. He emails me in the morning and asks if we can move our meeting to the Izzy’s just up the road. You see, he was coming down with something and needed some soup and his mother always took him to Izzy’s when he was sick as a kid. I didn’t much care. I’ve had their Ruebens and that’s pretty good but as the day progressed I started to get the shivers. I thought of canceling but their good people and I think I’d canceled on them before so at dinner time I head on over and join him in a Matzo ball soup. I’m as gentile as they come. I’m from Church of Scotland stock for gawd’s sake. But this was truly something handed down from heaven. This was something amazing. This was something that made me feel good and this was something I was going out of my way to get anytime I get the sniffles in the next 50 years or so. I’d give it 5 stars but I don’t know if this Matzo ball soup is as good as it gets. I’ll try others. But it was as good as soup gets.
